International rice trade
Vu, Daniel ; Černá, Iveta (advisor) ; Bolotov, Ilya (referee)
The thesis deals with the development of international trade in rice and focuses mainly on the period 2006 until 2011. I concentrated on the major exporters of rice -- China, India, Thailand, Vietnam and the U.S., the major importers -- Indonesia and the EU. In the context of these countries I analyzed the effects of government trade policies on the form of international trade in rice. My goal was to combine both these elements in coherence, because they are an inseparable part. In the first chapter, I first defined types of rice, then I explained the Standard Model theory of trade and trade policies for the export and import countries. In the second chapter, I gave an overview of the production and trade in rice. In next chapter I dealt with the trade policies of the above mentioned states. In the last chapter, I finally connected the impact of trade policies on foreign trade of selected countries.
