The meaning and activity of Actors´ Associastion focusing on the organization of the Thalia awards

The Bachelor work considers history of origin of Actors' Association, about important dates and the strategy of its activity. It also deals with reason and circumstances accompaning the origin. It maps the essential milestones in the development of this organization. It offers the survay about financial situation of Actors' Association through the financial analysis during the last years. My oun fundamental contribution to this problem is the suggestion of marketing strategy following from questionare research. It is aimd to the temporary awareness of the wide public about Thalia awards. The validity of questionare research is based on the statistic date about monitoring awards ceremony of the Thalia awards, obtaind from Czech television.
Management and stagione funding on example of the Municipal Theatre Jablonec nad Nisou

The subject of this thesis is to present the characteristics of stagione type of theatre as part of a comprehensive typology of theatres in the Czech Republic presented on example of the Municipal Theatre Jablonec nad Nisou. The theoretical part of the work that is created based on the evaluation of secondary data, describes the legal base of theatres, their funding opportunities, both from public and private sources, further managerial style and the specifics of cultural marketing. The theoretical part is followed by the practical part, which deals primarily with the analysis of the Municipal Theatre Jablonec nad Nisou, along with a glimpse at the activities of the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec and comparison of both theaters. The analytical part is based on in-depth interviews and questioning of the author, and is complemented by research on the perception of the theatre by its visitors. The aim is to determine whether the stagione type of theatre is a perspective for the Czech theatre culture in the future, whether it plays supporting role or merely is only a transitional form.
Independent theatre in Prague and importance for the Czech culture

This thesis deals with the subject of independent theatre in Prague. Its aim is to present the current representative of the Prague independent theatre operators in the cultural centres as well as between performing arts organizations. The theoretical part provides a brief overview of entities operating in this sector. Within the practical part one selected artistic entity is analysed in detail in terms of its repertoire and financing. Further, one of its major projects is also being analysed. In conclusion, the issue is even more insight in today's society through the lens of the processed survey. Labour aims to map the situation in today's theatre scene and the chosen example to present the possibilities and limitations with which operators may face.
Self-sufficiency of NGOs in culture

The master's thesis focuses on self-sufficiency of NGOs in culture, especially on NGOs in performing arts. The thesis aims to analyze the current status of self-sufficiency of NGOs doing performing arts in the Czech Republic. The research was conducted by means of electronic questionnaires sent to NGOs managers or financial employees. The research has shown that NGOs doing performing arts generate a relatively high level of own funds and they diversify their sources successfully. NGOs do not draw much money from the private sector but they use foreign funds a lot. There is still room for improvement in strategic planning of NGOs fundraising and marketing activities.
Financial self-sufficiency of cultural non-profit organisations

The diploma thesis deals with financial self-sufficiency of non-profit and non-governmental organisations operating in the cultural sector. The theoretical part describes all methods of financing. Emphasis is placed on the cooperation with donors and on fundraising through social networks. To make the comparison of financing easier, different legal forms of non-profit organisations with examples are mentioned. The practical part of the thesis presents five different Czech cultural non-profit organizations. The structures of their financial resources are described, financial analyses are performed, and the percentages of self-sufficiency are determined. The analyses show that none of the organizations is self-sufficient. The thesis presents recommendations on how to increase the percentage of self-sufficiency. The thesis explores importance of the crowdfunding in the Czech republic and describes the cooperation with donors in observed organisations.
The Valuation of the Oskar Nedbal Theatre in Tabor

This master's thesis deals with the valuation of cultural institution the Oskar Nedbal Theatre in Tabor and its aim is to estimate the value of this theatre to 30th June 2012 for the purpose of its founder the South Bohemian Region and compare this value with a subsidy paid to the theatre as a contributory organization. The value of the organization is determined by the method of contingent valuation based on the question related to people's willingness to pay for the preservation of the theatre and supplemented by Victor S. Yocco method for measuring three factors of the hypothetical value. The issue of cultural institutions valuation is not yet much explored area and mainly in the Czech Republic has not yet been comprehensively worked out and this thesis offers a practical view on one of the possible methods of valuing cultural goods and organizations.
