Humor on Twitter via bot accounts
Neuman, Michal ; Švelch, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Křeček, Jan (referee)
This paper aims to map the use of humour in the production of posts by selected automated Twitter accounts and users' reactions to such posts. The theoretical basis for this study is primarily provided by theories of humour, through the lens of which the issue of humour via Twitterbots is viewed. To provide a broader context, the phenomenon of 'new media', social media and automation is also introduced, within which Twitterbots are given closer attention. A combination of quantitative and qualitative research techniques were used in the analysis of the selected Twitterbots. Quantitative methods were used to describe the accounts under study and to select a narrower sample for detailed analysis. The qualitative analysis used a content analysis method with inductively and deductively created categories to answer research questions regarding the prevailing theory of humour, forms of responses to the posts and their themes. Within each account, partial results are described, and then combined and interpreted in a broader context in the final discussion.

Neuman, Michal ; Numerato, Dino (advisor) ; Háková, Lucie (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of termination of professional ice-hockey career. In particular, it focuses on the period of one's life, which comes after the termination or the decision about the termination of the career. It uses the concept of liminality, which allows focussing on the transition from the sport to post-sport life. Within the analysis, 6 semi- structured qualitative interviews have been done with the former professional ice-hockey players. Those were chosen for different characteristics, for the sample to be miscellaneous. In the transition period, the bachelor thesis focuses on the manifestations of liminality in particular. Those are for example the ambiguity of the individual, the anti-structure, the revaluation, rethinking one's self and the society and the experimenting with the new possibilities, which come to light in this phase of transition. The entry to the new social structure is also dealt with in this thesis. The involvement within the new structure is viewed by the concept of resocialization and the construction of identity. The analysis uses the method of qualitative content analysis with the usage of deductive category application. That means prior formulated categories were used and those were being connected with the text. At the end of this thesis, the...

Neuman, Michal ; Suk, Pavel (advisor) ; Končelík, Jakub (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the historically extremely significant event of the entry of the Warsaw Pact troops into Czechoslovakia in August 1968 and its subsequent occupation. It focuses on contemporary press with both daily and weekly periodicity and attempts to point out, what are the main themes in connection with the occupation which the allied forces engaged in. For this work, the analyzed period was defined as the time between the August 14 and September 21. The examined periodicals are Rudé právo, Práce, Svobodné slovo, and Mladá fronta, as those were the most read journals of the time. The journal Zprávy serves as a complementary journal, which was a propaganda instrument of the Soviet Union. The magazines Květy, Signál and Mladý svět were also chosen because of their edition. The crucial part of the work is the analysis of selected periodicals, in which I`ve pointed out the most important articles, which have been published in connection with the intervention and subsequent occupation. The work also focuses on the reintroduction and the establishment of a censorship institution at the end of August, which greatly affected the medial publications. An important part of the work is also the comparison of individual periodicals in various aspects, such as overall awareness of the...
