The hypothesis, that development and expansion of the Baťa company almost eliminated the business owners in this industry, was partly confirmed. It has been found that among other factors, due to which there was disposal of shoemaking craft, it is because of the technological advance, the war and the unfavorable situation after the war, the Great depression, legislation, tax incentives and others. The thesis explorers how the pace of trade developed in the years 1921 -- 1928, while comparing the shoemaking, tailor, leather and other trades that were not connected with the Baťa company. It has been also discovered that with the greatest pace fell just the shoemakers and tanners trade around 40%, while the number of other trades increased.
