Action Research: Assessing Organizational Culture of a University Department with Anticipation of Future Successful Changes.

The theoretical part of this diploma thesis introduces the concept of organizational culture and how it relates to management and leadership. A specific chapter is devoted to the evolution of organizational culture assessments at higher education institutions abroad. Particular attention is paid to the Cameron and Quinn's Organizational Culture Instrument (OCAI). Its modified version is subsequently used as one of the research methods in the practical section of the paper. The action research, presented in the empirical part, focuses on the organizational culture assessment at a University department, using both, the qualitative and quantitative approach. Results were presented to the management and employees of the department to be used for future organizational changes.
