Savvopoulos, Panagiotis ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Lassner, Martin (referee)
Thesis Title: Post-operative physiotherapeutic intervention and management after proximal femur hemiarthroplasty, in elderly patient. Author: Panagiotis Savvopoulos Work placement: Ustředni Vojenská Nemocnice, Prague, 1200/1, 16200, Praha 6. Název práce: Pooperační fyziotherapeutická péče a terapie pacienta vyššího věku po hemiarthroplastice proximálniho femuru. Summary The aim of this dissertation is to demonstrate, analyse and evaluate a case study of post operative physiotherapeutic intervention and management after proximal femoral hemiarthroplasty, in elderly patient. This dissertation which was written and composed by myself is divided into two parts, the theoretical and the special. The first part describes all the anatomical structures of the hip joint including bones, joints, and soft tissue as well as neural and blood supply structures. The theoretical part also analyzes in depth from a biomechanical and kinesiology perspective the function of the hip joint and injury mechanisms in respect to a fracture event or age associated pathologies. The special part is devoted to describe the medical history of my patient together with a detail report which clarifies all the applied procedures including initial and final examinations, daily assessments, therapies, conclusions, and data analysis of...
Case Study of a Patient after Partial Hip Replacement
Abdulmalik, Abdullaziz Abdulmalik Ali ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Lassner, Martin (referee)
"Case Study of a Patient after Partial Hip Replacement" The following Bachelor thesis case study took place in Orthopedic Surgery department of the Central Military Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic. This thesis has been divided in to two section. The first section is a generally theoretical section that describes the lower limb, anatomy, biomechanics, kinesiology and a basic general outlook on the femoral bone fractures and intervention. The second section which is the practical part of this thesis is focused on the analyses of a patient post a partial hip replacement surgery that's a consequence of a proximal femoral bone fracture. The section contains physiotherapeutic examinations that relate to the patient's condition and help clearly understand her overall clinical picture. The main goals of therapy approach was to reduce the patient's pain, restore function of the hip and the lower extremity in general to its optimal condition to enable the patient to resume activities of daily living. There was a positive outcome from the therapies applied. The pain around the hip that the patient used to feel decreased. Greater active and passive ranges of motion in the hip joint were achieved as well. The muscle tonus in the lower extremity also improved significantly. Off course the patient hasn't...
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Total Knee Replacement
Hlomayi, Belinda Yeukai ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Lassner, Martin (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of patient after total knee replacement. Aim of thesis: the aim of this thesis begins with an understanding of the human knee anatomically, followed by how its anatomy becomes functional by exploring the biomechanics and kinesiology aspects of the knee. This paper will further discuss on what leads to total knee replacement. Practically the aim of this thesis is to bring the knowledge acquired theoretically into practice as it explores the treatment process after total knee replacement surgery. Clinical findings: patient is a 57 year old man who was two days after total knee replacement surgery of the left knee. The need for replacement was due to bilateral gonarthrosis. He was able to walk with crutches with partial loading on the left leg. Patient present with very low mobility in the left knee and pain (normal two day after surgery). Methods: all methods applied through the therapy where based on literature or lectures from Charles University (Prague) Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. The methods mainly consisted of: soft tissue techniques, Post Isometric Relaxation, stretching and active strengthening exercises. The active exercise had variety and were tailored to the patient's abilities. The patient additionally received other...

Rehabilitation of Zone II Flexor Tendons after Surgical Repair
Truesdale, Joseph ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Lassner, Martin (referee)
"Rehabilitation of Zone II Flexor Tendons after Surgical Repair" "Rehabilitace Zone II šlach flexorů po chirurgické korekci" (Title, Czech Language) Selected surgical procedures, postoperative casting and movement recommendations, along with rehabilitation techniques are paramount in the influence of a positive outcome in this type of injury. Encompassed in this thesis are the theoretical and practical aspects of a case study about a patient that received custom physiotherapy treatment after surgical repair of lacerated flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS) and flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) in Zone II of his third digit on his left hand. I will attempt to explain the importance of the surgical technique, casting choices, and rehabilitation program, which can affect the outcome. The case study is based on clinical work while at Ustredni vojenska nemocnice (UVN) during the time period of 09.01.2017 - 20.01.2017. The patient involved in this case study is a 31-year-old male who is 52 days after surgical repair of FDS and FDP in Zone II of his third digit on his left hand. The surgical repair was required after a work related accident where the patient lacerated his third digit in Zone II with a chisel. This thesis has been divided into two sections. The initial section describes general upper limb...
