Comparasion of the benefits of two muscle testing on a group of modern dancers - randomized interventional crossover study
Karasová, Patricie ; Kajzar, Jiří (advisor) ; Froňková, Eliška (referee)
Title: Comparison of the benefits of two muscle testing on a group of modern dancers - randomized interventional crossover study. The main goal of this bachelor's thesis was to compare the benefits of two muscle tests among modern dance dancers. A secondary goal was to determine whether muscle testing as such is beneficial for dancers, regardless of the type of muscle test used. Another goal was to map muscle imbalances and muscle strength of the dancer, to identify which muscle groups are used most and which are weakened. This pilot study involved 20 female modern dance dancers aged 18-25 years, who had been engaged in modern dance for at least three years prior to the start of the study. Exclusion criteria included serious orthopedic dysfunction, feverish and other acute conditions, and lack of interest in the study. All participants met the entry criteria and were thus included in the study. Results were collected via a questionnaire survey. The results indicate that Muscle Testing: A Concise Manual was rated as more time-efficient, physically more pleasant, and more useful for training planning compared to SFT. Additionally, the usability of muscle testing as such in modern dance was positively evaluated by the dancers. At the beginning, three hypotheses were set, the first of which was...
Comparison of the benefit of two types of muscle tests in female lacrosse players - a randomized interventional crossover study
Soukeníková, Julie ; Kajzar, Jiří (advisor) ; Honců, Pavla (referee)
This bachelor's thesis examines the benefit of two different muscle tests in a group of female lacrosse players. The first of the muscle tests is the Isometric Break Test from the book Muscle testing; and a concise manual by Earle Abrahamson and Jane Langston (IBT), the second tests are Muscle Functional Tests by Professor Vladimír Janda (SFT). Two randomized groups were tested with both muscle tests, just in the opposite order. The participants filled out continuous questionnaires, from which it follows that both tests are beneficial for the participants. For the final questions, the majority of participants chose IBT as more difficult to perform but more time- efficient, more beneficial, and that they would rather work with it in their training plan in the future. When asked about a more physically pleasant muscle test, most participants chose SFT. In the study participants (lacrosse players), repetitive typically overloaded muscles were found, and on the contrary, typically weakened muscle parts.
Comparison of physiotherapy approach with other conservative approaches in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis
Bušek, Kamil ; Kejhová, Eva (advisor) ; Kajzar, Jiří (referee)
OF BACHELOR THESIS Author: Kamil Bušek Supervisor: Ing. Eva Kejhová Title of bachelor thesis: Comparison of physiotherapy approach with other conservative approaches in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis Abstract: This bachelor thesis is observing the differences in comparison of the physiotherapy approach with other conservative treatment options for lateral epicondylitis in acute and chronic conditions. The work is processed by the search method and consists of theoretical and special parts. The theoretical part deals with a description of anatomical structures, kinesiology, biomechanics and examination of the elbow joint as a whole. Other chapters are focused on the problematic of the lateral epicondylitis, which describe the etiology, clinical picture of acute and chronic forms, differential diagnosis, examination and treatment, where the emphasis is mainly on the conservative methods. The special part of this thesis is written on the basis of the results of literature research with the focus on finding the studies that are comparing a treatment of chronic and acute forms of the lateral epicondylitis. The thesis describes and compares the usuals physiotherapeutic methods such as mobilization, manipulation, eccentric and concentric exercises or kinesiotaping, as well as frequently used...
Compensatory exercise for powerlifting athletes
Karásková, Petra ; Kejhová, Eva (advisor) ; Kajzar, Jiří (referee)
BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT First name and surname: Petra Karásková Supervisor: Ing. Eva Kejhová Title of the bachelor thesis: Compensatory exercise for powerlifting athletes Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of using compensatory exercise for powerlifting competitors. In the theoretical part compensatory exercise, powerlifting, the biomechanics of its individual disciplines, injuries in powerlifting and deep stabilization system was described. The practical part includes case reports of two patients. The target group consist of male competitors in powerlifting. Two patients, with pain in the low back area, were participating in total seven weeks of therapy. The therapy occurred one to two times a week. The results were evaluated on the basis of subjective score of pain and objectively using tests on deep stabilization system by Kolář. PhysioSensing was used as another objective method to evaluate the results, where static analysis, limits of stability and weight distribution on the lower limbs at different degrees of flexion in the knee joints was measured. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map available literature related to compensatory exercise in relationship with powerlifting. Furthermore, raising awareness among powerlifters about the possibilities of prevention and compensation and...
