Retraining

This bachelor work has been focusing on retraining as a tool of active unemployment policy. The work is approaching it from the wider context of job market situation and also as a part of state measures against the unemployment. The emphasis is on unemployment, its definition, consequences and effects of long term unemployment. The introduction focuses at the importance of education in the modern society and theory of human capital, then the work explores the job market, especially job market in the Czech Republic and its development after 1989. Next section studies incidence of active employment policy, its goals and tools. Explanation of labour offices' characteristics follows together with a small excursion to their history and space is also dedicated to job seeker's view of consultation process. Finally, the conclusion deals with issues of retraining with an emphasis on their legal definition, participants and effects.
