BRNO – NEW SOUTH CENTRE LOCATION – POŘÍČÍ, BRIDGES TRINITY, THE AREA OF COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL INTEGRATION, MULTIFUNCTIONAL OBJECT AND SPACE
Jirků, Anežka ; Bindr, Tomáš (referee) ; Kiszka, Josef (advisor)
Today, more than ever, the human population is subject to depression, anxiety or burnout. There are also fewer cases of diseases of civilization such as cardiovascular, cancer or allergic diseases, etc. And the way we treat our bodies and ourselves is also reflected in our behavior towards the planet, the unsustainability of which no one doubts anymore. Therefore, a place to focus on culture and development is essential for the future neighborhood. Culture, sports, work and relaxation can meet in one space. Thanks to the library, lectures and other forms of education, personal and social responsibility can be deepened. Theater and other forms of culture give the possibility of developing a mental and spiritual dimension. Wellness and open gardens allow you to take care of yourself and life in nature. And open workshops, coworking and restaurant facilities can support the skills of residents and relationships between people and groups of different backgrounds or ages. Thanks to its location at the crossroads of horizontal and vertical communication, the place itself has strong potential. It can become a public space that meets both banks of the Svratka, the historical part of the city with new construction and, thanks to the nearby planned park and river, also man with nature.
Brno Connectivity / Brno Democratic City
Jirků, Anežka ; Kala, Josef (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
City. The main centre of all human activity, whose architecture reflects the art and maturity of its inhabitants and the values of the society in which it was founded. There are countless approaches and theories on how a proper city should look and function. Jan Gehl wrote: "A good city is in many ways like a good party: the guests stay because they are having fun." But is it as simple as that? And what keeps us from enjoying our city and having fun in its streets? In my master thesis I decided to look at the subject of urban space from a slightly different angle than usual, and through the potential of small interventions to try to encourage life between buildings.
