The impact of a breastfeeding mother's nutrition on the breast milk quality
Rolková, Julia ; Schneidrová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Fauknerová Matějčková, Jana (referee)
Aim: The aim of this study was to summarize the current evidence on the outlined topic in the theroretical part and in the practical part explorethe level of knowledge of breastfeeding women about nutrition during lactation and the effect of breastfeeding mother's nutrition on the quality of breast milk (BM). Methodology: Data was collected in April-May 2024 using an anonymous online questionnaire designed by Google Forms and distributed through social networking sites and discussion forums. The questionnaire was designed exclusively for adult breastfeeding women. A total of 368 responses were obtained. Results: The survey revealed that 55 % of women use the internet as their main source of information about the breastfeeding mother's nutrition. It was also found that women 91 % of respondents know about the effect of nutrition of breastfeeding mother on the quality of BM. Less than 50 % of breastfeeding mothers correctly answered at least 80 % questions. It was also confirmed that mothers with higher education (higher professional and university) have better knowledge about nutrition and its effect on BM quality than mothers with lower education (primary and secondary) (p = 0.008). Conclusion: Due to the problematic reliability of information on the Internet, it is advisable to provide mothers with...
Consumption of milk and dairy products and their effect on the organism of elementary school students
Vrabcová, Anna ; Fauknerová Matějčková, Jana (advisor) ; Boďo, Mário (referee)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the analysis of milk and dairy products and their influence on the health of elementary school students. The work is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part examines the composition of milk and dairy products, their classification, differences between various dairy products, storage requirements, and consumption limitations. It also explores the importance of dairy products in children's diets and their role in disease prevention. The practical part summarizes the results of a questionnaire conducted among elementary school students. The questionnaire, which included 23 questions and was distributed both in print and online form, aimed to assess students' knowledge of dairy products, their attitudes towards them, and summarize their consumption issues. The questionnaire results indicate that students have a basic understanding of dairy products, are aware of their intended consumer groups, and summarize the issues associated with their consumption. They regularly consume dairy products several times a week, with a preference for unsweetened varieties.

- The application of electrophoretic and chromatographic methods in clinical research RNDr. Jana Fauknerová Matějčková Malondialdehyde (MDA) is considered to be the main biomarker for oxidative damage to biomembranes and an elevated level of this compound can act as an indicator for a number of diseases. I determined MDA using a HPLC method based on derivatization of blood plasma samples with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. I used HPLC to separate the MDA derivatives from the other components of the blood plasma and detected them at 307 nm. The MDA analysis time did not exceed 4.5 min. The sensitivity (detection limit 0.27 mol l-1 ) and repeatability of the determination of MDA are sufficient for monitoring the MDA level in real blood plasma samples. My work also describes monitoring the level of the low-molecular secondary antioxidant of uric acid, whose concentration in the blood attains values of 140 to 350 µmol l-1 and the secondary enzymatic antioxidant of superoxide dismutase (SOD). The uric acid level was analysed by the capillary electrophoresis and spectrophotometric methods, where the two methods yielded comparable results. SOD was analysed using a spectrophotometric kit. The MDA levels were measured for vegans (who refuse to eat any food of animal origin, meat, eggs and also dairy...
