The issues of Czech Deaf through the eyes of medics and doctors

This bachelor's thesis is focused on the awareness of issues related to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Deaf Studies more broadly, from the perspective of medical students, young doctors, and practicing doctors, particularly in the field of Otorhinolaryngology and Phoniatrics in the Czech environment. The main objective of the work is to explore the factual knowledge, personal experiences, and attitudes of these groups. The research study will be placed in the context of the Czech system of pre-graduate and post-graduate medical education, specifically for doctors working in the field of Otorhinolaryngology and Phoniatrics. These doctors encounter clients with hearing impairments on a daily basis in their practice, and often significantly influence their life, education, and career through their recommendations or decisions. Through the research study, I will analyze the findings and compare them with the context of the current and past educational system for doctors in the field of Otorhinlaryngology and Phoniatrics. Study conditions of persons with visual impairment at universities

89 Abstract This examined diploma thesis focuses on the sphere of tertiary education and its aim was especially to examine the study conditions of university students with visual impairment. The basis was to study professional literature and other sources to build a theoretical framework. It was essential to create an image of the student with visual impairment that the visual handicap and thereunder constraints were covered and it was also necessary to describe the young adulthood specifics. An important step was to characterize the environment wherein these student move. To do this I used legislative documents and provisions and tried to delineate any difficulties and implemented solutions. I also introduced research which previously examined this field and provided relevant information, too. This was the foundation for the practical part of this paper. It contained the survey wherein I addressed a few visually impaired students who conveyed their findings regarding their study conditions. I carried out semi-structural interviews with them and analyzed the obtained data with the help of the open coding method. Development of Child with Visual Impairment

1 SUMMARY The bachelor thesis named "The Development of Child with Visual Impairment", it aimed at children with low vision. The theoretic part made a reader acquainted with term of low vision generally (diagnostic tools, etiology, signs), with development of weak-eyed child, possible complications but at the same time with possible support. Then in practical part the knowledge was compared with concrete cases of two children with low vision. Theoretic part resulted from information contained in special bibliography or in other materials. For practical part, there was a chance to insight into the personal documents of chosen pupils, to observe them during the schooling and to realize an interview with them. After evaluation of obtained information it is possible to introduce the fallowing conclusions. The authors focused on this topic they are mainly aimed at blind or partly sighted children. So that was my intention to describe the main steps of development of weak-eyed children and possible difficulties. In terms of aids for children with low vision, their offer is really wide and this theme is described by lots of authors. The theme of toys and games for these children is contained in few pieces and the main range is focused on children with more serious visual handicap again. It managed to gather...
