The influence of unilateral vestibular dysfunction on spatial orientation in patients after vestibular schwannoma surgery
Šponarová, Lenka ; Chovanec, Martin (referee) ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate spatial orientation in the patients after vestibular schwannoma surgery. In the theoretical part, there are summarized the facts about vestibular system; there is described the clinical picture of unilateral vestibular dysfunction and the field of vestibular schwannoma and spatial orientation in general. In the practical part, we performed the investigation of the spatial orientation using the Blue Velvet Arena System and posturography using the platform Balance Master® System. The purpose of the practical part was to find out, whether unilateral vestibular dysfunction in patients after vestibular schwannoma surgery has the impact on spatial orientation and to what extent is the postural stability influenced in patients identified for surgery and in patients after vestibular schwannoma surgery. The application of electro tactile stimulation of tongue for rehabilitation in patients with balance disorders
Gitschinská, Eva ; Paulasová - Schwabová, Jaroslava (referee) ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor)
Diploma the 'is deals wi th the research of effect of biofeedback in the form of electrotactile stimulation of tongue in the patients with balance disorders eaused by the cerebellar lesion. For the therapeutic program 4 patients with cerebellar ataxia at the age of38 - 74 years were chosen. Subjects have partieipated in the therapeutic program with the application of biofeedback, they were training postural stability while visual control was excluded and they were using electrotacti le signal on the tongue for orientation. I used neurological tests BESTest and Dynamic Oait Index, questionnaire The Activities- Specific Balance Confidence (ABC) Scale, Dizziness I Tandicap Inventory (D ll) a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), and examination by stati posturography for evaluation of postural stability in the patients. I supposed that therapy by biofeedback in the form of electrotactile stimulation of tongue improves postural stability in the patients with balance disorders caused by cerebellar lesion. Falls of the patients with the extra pyramidal system disability
Kunzová, Karolina ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Zárubová, Kateřina (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Fal1s of the patients with the extrapyramidal system disability" deals with the postural stability problems in relation to the Parkinson's and Huntington's diseases. lt comprises information about clinical examination oť the postural stability, motor complications of illness and about falls. The aim is to describe clinical examination of the postural stability, causes and consequences of ťalls, and to introduce brief1y the possibilities of rehabilitative care. The thcsis is based on literature research of domestic and foreign sources, which are mentioned in the list of references, Patient therapy is not included in this paper. The Effect of Neurophysiologically Based Physiotherapy on the Clinical Display and Immunology of Patients wits MS
Kopecká, Jana ; Čakrt, Ondřej (referee) ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor)
Physiotherapy on the neurophysiologic base works with the principles of the motor functions regulations and the sensory-motor learning. We investigated the influence of the physiotherapy with the clinical status and immunological parameters in the patients with MS in this study. There were 12 patients with MS which underwent physiotherapy and 8 patients with MS in the control group. For the assessment of the clinical status we used a testing group of muscle power, spasticity, balance and posture reactions, knee lock, tremor, dysmetria, dysdiadochokinesis, visual and cognitive functions. From the test results we counted the index for the upper and lower extremities, for the entire function and balance. For the assessment of the immunological parameters we used common imunological examination. We found out that physiotherapy on the neurophsiological base significantly possitive influences muscle power and spasticity of the upper and lower extremities, balance, tremor of the lower extremities, sight and the entire functions of the patients with MS. There was only a mild improvement of dysmetria, dysdiadochokinesis, balance, tremor of the upper extremities and cognitive functions. The immunological results showed a significant IgA elevation in the group with the exercise. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Testing spatial cognition - a comparison of a group of patients with the Failed Back Surgery Syndrome with a healthy population sample
Střídová, Zuzana ; Čakrt, Ondřej (referee) ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor)
Diploma thesis summarizes recent knowledge of neurophysiology primarily self-perception and body- scheme. The aim is to contribute and enrich the recent theories. The thesis studies different quality of self-perception in healthy people and patients with chronic back pain, especially patients with Failed Back Surgery Syndrome. An experimental comparison between patients with FBSS and control group has been made. The research involved navigation tasks. Probands were blindfolded during the examination in the space cognition laboratory with the Blue Velvet Arena system. Certain differences between patients and control group have been detected. Further studies with larger number of patients are recommended, so the experiment returns more precise results and statistically valuable data. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The interindividual variability in examination by Balance Master
Oršulíková, Radka ; Čakrt, Ondřej (referee) ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor)
This thesis "The interindividual variability in the investigation by Balance Master® System" resolves the problem of postural stability in the context of age and incidence of external factors as day-time, physical activity or stress in tested individuals. The aim of the work was to summarize knowledge about the postural stability, mechanisms of processing, holding and testing postural stability. The target of the research was to verify if there are any differences in quality of postural stability between the group of healthy young individuals and the group of healthy elderly by Balance Master® measurements, and if the quality of postural stability is affected by the day-time, fatigue and stress. It was investigated 6 tests: Weight Bearing/Squat (WBS), Modified Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction on Balance (mCTSIB), Limits of Stability (LOS), Rhytmic Weight Shift (RWS), Step Up/Over (SUO) a Forward Lunge (FL). Tendinopathy of the Achilles' heel as effect of functional disorder of thelocomotive system
Mostecká, Dagmar ; Smékal, David (advisor) ; Čakrt, Ondřej (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the Achilles tendinopathy, and particularly with its etiopatogenetics. The theoretical part includes information about the Achilles tendon, tendinopathy of Achilles tendon and a summary of dysfunctions of the locomotor system. We assumed that the dysfunction of the locomotor system is the main etiopatogenetic factor of the Achilles tendinopathy, and that it results in changes of its position and loading. In the practical part we tried to reveal these dysfunctions by examination of seven patients, and to prove its main etiopatogenetic influence by a successfull therapy. The aim of the thesis was to point out the importance of the examination as well as the therapy of the locomotor systems function. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
