The essence of this graduate thesis is to summarize knowledge about the aprotic gel electrolytes. In the graduate thesis, there are explained methods for mensuration electrochemical properties of the aprotic gel electrolytes. In the theoretical part, I focus on the knowledge related to gel polymeric electrolytes, their history, properties, mechanisms and application. In the experimental part, I describe the preparation of the samples of the gel polymeric electrolytes, in which I evaluate their properties, electrical conductivity and potencial window.
Influence of temperature on parameters of lithium-ion cells
Kuthan, Jiří ; Sedlaříková, Marie (referee) ; Máca, Josef (advisor)
Masters Thesis summarizes the theoretical findings about lithium-ion akumulators. It gives a overview of the basic types of galvanic cells, then deals in detail with the lithium-on cell. It's composition, electrochemical principle of working, thermal dependence, construction and area of application. The thesis describes the basic methods of measuring lithium-on cells, such as cyclic charging and discharging, cyclic voltammetry. The practical part compares selected types of materials for negative elektrodes in different temperatures.
Biodegradable bone implants
Galanová, Zuzana ; Vondrák, Jiří (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on producing orthopaedic implant materials and measuring their corrosion properties. It describes the bone and its structure, types, bone ossification and healing. It defines functions of orthopaedic implants and mentions the types of implants – biodegradable and non-biodegradable. The thesis interprets what corrosion is, what categories of corrosion exist and how does the corrosion influence orthopaedic implants. Preparing the solution of stimulated body fluid and manufacturing samples of different metal combinations (of iron, manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, silver and zinc) is included in this thesis, together with corrosion measurements, microscopic observations, EDAX analysis, metallographic analysis, microhardness testing of samples and pH changes measurements of solutions, and the results are interpreted and explained.
Gel polymer electrolytes modified by ionic liquids with aprotic solvents
Pospíšilová, Michaela ; Sedlaříková, Marie (referee) ; Jahn, Michal (advisor)
This graduate thesis is focused on measuring the electrical conductivity of the gel polymeric electrolytes, their preparation and deals with the changes of the performance ratio of the individual substances in gel electrolyte The theoretical part deals with electrochemistry, gel electrolytes, the conductivity of electrolytes, gel electrolytes preparation, methods used to evaluate the measured results and on the properties of the ionic liquids. In the practical part is summarized the process of preparing gel electrolytes, the chemicals to prepare the gels with ionic liquids. The results are evaluated by using impedance technique and linear voltammetry, there are calculated the values of the electrical conductivity of the electrolyte and potential windows.
Liquid Electrolytes for Lithium-Ion Batteries with Enhance Fire Safety
Máca, Josef ; Paidar,, Martin (referee) ; Studničková, Marie (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
Dissertation thesis is focused on study of liquid electrolytes for lithium ion batteries. The electrical and physical properties of aprotic electrolytes are observed. The main goal is to increase the fire safety of the batteries. An anhydrous solvents and there blends was investigated. The common used solvents mixtures and new low flammable solvents were used. The common used solvents were used propylene carbonate, ethylene carbonate and others. The new solvents were sulfolane and dimethyl sulfone. In the second part of the work the phosphor base flame retardants as additive in electrolytes was investigated. The last part deals with ionic liquids and there possible use as electrolyte in lithium ion batteries.
Gel polymer electrolytes with fire retardands
Veselkova, Iuliia ; Jahn, Michal (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This graduate work deals with the study and preparation of gel polymer electrolytes with flame retardants for lithium-ion batteries. The theoretical part describes the types of electrolytes, their features, benefits, how they differ and where they are used in detail. The basis of this section is gel electrolytes with flame retardants, to measure their electrical and electrochemical properties. The experimental part deals with the preparation of samples of gel electrolytes with different percentages of flame retardant, where varied species of flame retardants and measuring their electrical conductivity and potential windows. Impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and dynamic-analytical thermal analysis were selected as measuring methods.
Using thermochromic systems for testing heat distribution
Klimeš, Jan ; Sedlaříková, Marie (referee) ; Zatloukal, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with principles of thermochromism and its possible applications in heat distribution testing. Theoretical part describes mechanisms which allow the thermochromic properties of the substances. Particular attention is paid to cholesteric liquid crystals. Ability to measure the heat for this type of liquid crystals was varified. Also long service life in high humidity environment, enviroment with intense UV radiation, cyclic changes in temperature or immersion in water was tested. A possibility of their practical use in diagnosis was verified as well. Specifically mapping of heat distribution on an assembled PCB. Conclusion contains comparison and evaluation of this method in terms of accuracy, user comfort and economic advantages compared to conventional infrared sensors.
