The influence of pregnancy on static and dynamic postural stability

Title: Influence of pregnancy on static and dynamic postural stability Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the influence of pregnancy on the static and dynamic postural stability using the dynamic computerized posturography. Another objective of this thesis is to determine which one of sensory inputs (visual, somatosensory, vestibular) plays the most important role in the control of postural stability during pregnancy with the help of various posturographic tests. Based on literature search to characterize changes in the organism of pregnant woman, which are responsible for postural instability in gravidity. Methods: One healthy pregnant woman was enrolled in this longitudinal study. She was evaluated in terms of static and dynamic postural stability using the dynamic computerized posturograph NeuroCom®. Posturographic tests were performed once every two or three weeks in the period from the 16th week of pregnancy until the 37th week of pregnancy and consisted of a battery of diagnostic tests of the module Smart EquiTest System. The data were processed in the program NeuroCom Data Analyzer. Results: The results demonstrate that there is an increased reliance on sensory inputs to maintain balance during pregnancy. Title: Influence of Pilates method on the function of the deep stabilization system with professional instructors Objectives: The main aim of the thesis was to prepare a test battery to evaluate HSSP activation of instructors of Pilates method. Subsequently, to evaluate the data obtained in testing phase and then conclude whether the statement that Pilates method positively affects the HSSP is true. As sub-goals, I aimed to find out the reason why they decided to become Pilates instructors, and to map the locations of training centers that provide courses of this method. Methods: In the thesis, practical testing according to test battery prepared for the specific purposes of this study was used. Questionnaire was used as well. In order to verify the truthfulness of the research hypotheses, the software Microsoft Excel version 2010 was used. In processing the data from the questionnaire survey, software Google Forms was used in addition to Microsoft Excel version 2010. The results were then processed into tables and charts. The thesis contains elements of experimental studies. Results: Data obtained from the test battery showed that the Pilates method has a positive influence on the HSSP of Pilates instructors. Title: The most common aerobic injuries, their prevention and follow rehabilitation. Objective: The aim of this thesis is find and introduce main type of injuries, frequency and lenght of the recovery of aerobic competitors of I., II. and III. FISAF class. Asses injuries and find oue preventive measures used by competitors. Methods: In this diplome thesis was used literary review in theoretical part of thesis and metod of written questioning was used in non-standatdized questionaires. This method was used to analyse the most common injuries, preventive measures before injury and find out competitors experience with physical therapy The questionnaire was distributed to 21 aerobic clubs wich contest in 1st, 2nd and 3th aerobic FISAF class. For data analysis softwere was used Microsoft Excel for Windows 2013. Findings: Acquired data showed that in season of 2016 was injured 91 competitors of 157 participant researchers. The most common area of injury aerobics FISAF competitors of 1st, 2nd and 3th class was in 57% pelvis and lower extreminty area. Detailed analysis showed that 24% of injury was in the ankle joint. Title: Rating postural stability in synchronized swimming Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis is to detect, with a use of the system Gaitview ® AFA - 50 systém (Foot Scanner), if synchronized swimming has effect on postural stability of synchronized swimmers. Methods: Therotical part of diploma thesis is about synchronized swimming, influence of the aquatic environment, postural stability, stabilization and balance. A sample of 113 female athletes aged 6-35, who were long term synchronized swimmers at competition level, was chosen for this survey. Postural stability of athletes was tested while standing still with open and closed eyes by Gaitview ® AFA-50 system (Foot Scanner). Measured data were processed through Gaitview software, Microsoft Excel 2010 and anaylzed by statistical methods (average percentage, ratio, linear trend). Results: Results confirmed the effect of synchronized swimming on athletes postural stability. The longer are athletes dedicated to synchronized swimming the better is postural stability. From the age of 15 years and after 9 years of experience in synchronized swimming postural stability was shown to be better without access to visual information than with it. Generally in my thesis you can see how the structure of an ankle joint is and the function of the same joint by a kinesiological and a biomechanical point of view. Furthermore it will be described in details a therapy plan about that diagnosis. Summary My bachelor thesis contains two main parts, the general part and the special part. In the general part I analyze the branches of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics for the ankle joint. In this part you can find also an overview of the ankle sprain and the physiotherapy examinations that need to be done in such situations. On the other hand, the special part is an extended report of my case study. Title: Correlation between mental stress, trapezius muscles electrical activity and electrical activity of the brain Objectives: The main goal of this thesis is to find out whether a shortterm mental stress induced by solving tests in maths, Czech language and colour word test in a time pressure increases the electrical activity in musculus trapezius and further more to evaluate the change in distribution of alfa activity in electroencephalographic record before and after undertaking the above mentioned tests. Methods: The experimental sample consisted of six university students (5 women, 1 man) at the age from 22 to 30. The electrical activity of m. trapezius pars descendens was being evaluated billateraly using the telemetric surface electromyography TeleMyo Mini of the Neurodata company, and electrical activity of the brain was being evaluated using the EEG Nicolet. The stress load was induced by solving mental tests (Czech language, mathematics and a colour word test) in a time limit. The shorten version of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire was used to determine the characteristics of the individuals. We focused mainly on determining degree of neuroticism. Title: The effect of flat feet on the stability of the ankle joint of floorball players. Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is to determine whether a flat feet has any effects on the floorball players' ankle joint stability. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the chronic ankle instability, other leg pathologies and on the options of therapeutic interventions. Eventually, the thesis provides summary and output data for physiotherapist, sport couches and the examined players. Methods: First a literature study was conducted to establish a theoretical framework. Based on the feature/aspect examination of longitudinal foot arching and an initial questionnaire 10 particular subjects aged 22 to 29 were selected, all of them form the TJ Tatran Střešovice team. The subjects were divided in 2 groups - with longitudinal flat feet and without longitudinal flat feet pathology. The examined subjects were scored with negative points according to occurrence of any pathologies. Both groups were also benchmarked in the Star Excursion Balance Test that determined feet dynamic stability index. Author: Jana Hrmova Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after liver transplantation Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is to summarise the theoretical knowledge about liver transplants, with the use of evidence from a patient that had undergone a liver transplant. The thesis is written from a physiotherapeutical point of view. Methods: The thesis consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. In the general part, theoretical information about liver diseases, Wilson's disease, liver transplant and physiotherapeutic treatment are discussed. All of this information is processed based on an academic literature and other peer reviewed sources. The practical part consists of a case study with a patient after undergoing a liver transplant, and a report of their rehabilitation, which was conducted as a part of a framework of a continuous physiotherapeutic internship at the Institute of clinical and experimental medicine in Prague from 2nd to 27th January 2017. Results: The patient was in a coma during the course of treatment which significantly slowed down the progress of the therapies. Michaela Stupková Year of defense: 2017 Thesis goals: The goal of this bachelor thesis is a summary of theoretical knowledge about meniscus wounds and following treatment. Especially I focus on arthroscopy of knee joint and following rehabilitation. Methods: Special part of the bachelor thesis is presented in the form of case interpretation of the patient after arthroscopy of knee joint for meniscal lesions. It consists of entry and leaving examination and therapeutic units. This part was created during bachelors practice in Centrum léčby pohybového aparátu v Praze Vysočanech (Center for treatment of motion apparatus in Prague Vysočany) between January 2nd 2017 and January 27th 2017 under the supervision of Mgr. Jakub Hoskovec. Results: During the measured timing the patient condition significantly improved therefore I conclude that the selected therapy methods were effective. Clinical Effectiveness of the Schultz Autogenic Training on the Electrical Activity of the Brain

Title of thesis: Clinical Effectiveness of the Schultz Autogenic Training on the Electrical Activity of the Brain Objectives: The thesis aims to analyze the impact of Schultz autogenic training on brain activity evaluated using EEG Course of action: To obtain the data, an experimental group containing 11 participants aged 20-30, disregarding gender, was created. Participants practiced Schultz autogenic training using the identical audio record once a day during the course of nine weeks. Upon completion of the training, all participants were subjected to one-off measurement by the Nicolet EEG instrument. Brain activity was measured before, during and after the training. Obtained EEG data were processed with NeuroGuide software using coherence analysis and fast Fourier transform. Coherence analysis provided charts mapping the electrical activity of Brodmann areas during the course of all three stages and fast Fourier transform yielded data of performance ratio between theta and alpha frequencies, so called T/A index. Performance ratio of the T/A index was subject to Student's paired t-test in order to draw final conclusion.
