Old Testament Interpretation and the Postmodern Conditions
Zatroch, Ondrej ; Lukeš, Jiří (advisor) ; Biernot, David (referee)
The task of diploma thesis "Old Testament Interpretation and the Postmodern Conditions" is to critically reflect the course and current issues of Old Testament research. This reflection is based on the analysis of research situation and chosen approaches to the Old Testament. The thesis shows, that the Old Testament interpretation must be based on lively dialogue. It doesn't mean just the dialogue with the biblical texts or the state of current research, but also with the situation of the world often called as "postmodern". The important assumption of this diploma thesis is that the authentic interpretation includes also the constant and deep self-examination of interpreter and his place in the society. It doesn't mean, that the interpretation ought to be the self-presentation of interpreter. On the contrary, it should remain critical and solid, but also enacted in deep solidarity with the neighbour and shared world. The results of this diploma thesis show the importance of keeping the critical grounds of Old Testament research and interpretation. Only the intensive and unappealing criticism could be a basis for the future quality and solidness of the research and upholding its matter in wider research community and society. Another important aspect is the solidarity with the world. It means that...

Geological and Petrophysical Characterization of Hawaz Sandstones Reservoir in ‚H' Oil Field, Murzuq Basin, SW Libya
Sherif, Yousef M.A. ; Kobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Čepek, Petr (referee) ; Lukeš, Jiří (referee)
There are several basins with oil productive formations on the North African Platform. The Murzuq basin is one of them; it is situated in the south- west part of Libya and the northern portions of Niger, representing an intracratonic sag basin. It was initiated during the Palaeozoic Pan-African orogine. The deposition of the basin started with basal barren conglomerates of Hassaouna Formation unconformably overlying the Precambrian basement and being unconformably overlained by productive Hawaz Formation. The top of the Hawaz Formation is strictly demarcated by radioactive shales (lower Silurian Tanezzuft shales). The contact between top of the sedimental cycle of upper fluvial delta to shallow marine sea deposits and Silurian marine pelagic sediments documents an important palaeoclimatic change in sedimentary environment owing to Caledonian Unconformity. Silurian pelagic marine sediments represent an extensive marine flooding in all North-African Platform area. This flooding event of sea level rise was caused by melting and dissolving of the glacial material on the surrounding mountainous area during Caledonian unconformity, while this mountainous area transformed in peneplane. The present study is based on slabbed cores, core samples, and thin section; photographic of cores, conventional core...

Structuralism as a supporting principle for synchronous biblical exegesis in relation to the New Testament
Herodek, Jiří ; Lukeš, Jiří (advisor) ; Beneš, Jiří (referee)
This work proposes to introduce to the reader structuralism as a literary movement and aplly its methodology to New Testament texts. It sketches its common characteristics, goal and essence, but is also trying to grasp the historical and philosophical background of structuralism and other schools reacting on it or in continual relation to it - semiotics and poststructuralism. Attention is also focused on some important figures from different social sciences inspired by structuralism or those who participated on its origin. Great part of this diploma work is devoted to various exegetical examples of short texts, chapters or whole New Testament books and applying on them structuralist methodology. This exegetical part is followed by evaluation of contributive aspects and limitations of structuralism in relation to New Testament texts.

Kalvasová, Vendula ; Lukeš, Jiří (referee) ; Melmuk, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis " Mary of Magdala in the Bible and in the Christian Tradition" is divided into three parts. The first, key part, is based on biblical text, primarily the New Testament. It analyzes in detail the attributes ascribed to the person of Mary of Magdala. The second part reviews selected non-canonic literature in which the name of Mary of Magdala appears. Based on the texts of the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Philip, the Gospel of Mary, the Conversation with the Savior and the Pistis Sofia, the attributes ascribed to her by this literature are again analyzed. The third part discusses the most recent resarch of the early Christian era and their connection with Mary of Magdala. The conclusion summarizes the current views of her and how her life story is captured in literary form through contemporary eyes, i. e. from the viewpoint of contemporary authors.

Public administration in terms of the European Union (historical and sociocultural context)

The present text of the thesis discuss the technology and its impact on the composer's compositional work . Current music scene we called artificial music in principle pervades the world of acoustic sound to the world of electroacoustic sound, which is a major field of researches of art music for several decades. Continuous development and improvement of the technologies in the context of better accessibility in practice means increasing infiltration of technology solutions to the triangle composer - performer - listener . The main focus of the text consists of analytical probes into the current technological solutions and their subsequent contribution to the work of the composer. Technology can play a role of analyse, interpretation, and indirectly also compositional realisation. The knowledge gained in electroacoustic techniques then embedded in the context of acoustic compositional techniques , resulting in many times possibilities for classification of sound through different optics. An important role for the sound still plays a space. The work deals with the meaning of the word space both in terms of architectural design , and the view of possibility to create virtual space. The penultimate chapter gives the reader an insight into the field of generative music through the project Mysticism fragrance. Final text summarization aims primarily to identify and map out possible solutions for composing in the context of the technologies which we can use today .
