Commercial policy of the European Union towards Israel

This bachelor thesis is concerned with trading the European Union with Israel and Israel's foreign trade with the Czech Republic. The foreign Trade of the Czech Republic is among the Common commercial policy of the European Union. Therefore the first theoretical part is paid attention to her. The aim of the thesis is using the real numbers to analyze the reciprocal trade as well as the main commodities, which are involved in this trade. In the case of trade with the Czech Republic will also focus on the history of trade relations, which were not always idyllic. Much of the work is dedicated to investment and investment climate in Israel, where foreign direct investment plays an important role. In conclusion of thesis is outlined the likely evolution, which will take place in Israel.
The judgement on entry of SVK to the Eurozone as a member of V4

The aim of bachelor work is to analyze and evaluate the entry of Slovak Republic to the Eurozone in the beginning of year 2009. Possible early entrance and the option of waiting for other states of Visegrad Four is what I will be interested in. In the theoretical part I will be talking about historical evolution of Economic and monetary union and nominal and real convergence criteria, which I analyze concerning The Theory of Optimum Currency Areas. In the second, practical part, I will put my mind to satisfying each real convergence criteria (from years 2004 to 2006) in the Slovakia and I will compare it with other states of European Union, especially with Visegrad Four. In the final part I will analyze pros and cons of adopting Euro in Slovakia.
Impact of regulation of Slovak gas industry

The main aim of this work is refer to a negative impact on the state regulation based on the theory of natural monopoly. It is based on history and criticism of this theory mentioned in works of economists of the Chicago school. First of all it observes the present effort about deregulation of gas and than it observes changes of opinions in the theory and experiences in network sector. It analyzes business environment of the Slovak gas industry, event argue that the new rule on market does not brought any expected competition. Indicate on input barrier into gas environment, however also seeks to found the way into longed competition of gas market.
Effects of the use of biofuels in the fuel prices and food prices

This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of the use of biofuels in the fuel prices and food prices. The theoretical part introduces the concept of biofuels, the grounds for introducing them and try to show some increase in prices of agricultural commodities as a result of biofuel production and their impact on fuel prices. Analytical part provides a method that allows you to calculate the limit price for 1 barrel RME (rape-seed methyl ester) using the change rate of CZK / USD and change in oil prices in USD per 1 barrel. The aim of this work is to assess the impact of biofuel production on food prices and fuel.
Deregulation of rents, the effect of 2 specific cooperatives and the recommendations to the Czech republic.

The bachelor thesis deals with a problem of rent deregulation, which is currently in progress in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part we get to know what actually the regulation is and why the deregulation was launched in the Czech Republic. Further there are discussed the problems associated with deregulation, continued by the question of maximum and minimum prices and the general view of economic regulation according to particular economic schools. In the operative part, the bachelor thesis seeks to analyze existing data of 2 cooperatives, whereas one is a subject to the deregulation and the another one is not. In the end, the thesis seeks to give an economic advice, to analyze the advantages, disadvantages and potential deregulation. The thesis analyses not only the impact of deregulation on cooperatives, but also on the ordinary citizens.
Comparison of growth factors of Senegal and Kenya from the points of institutional economy

A main objective of my diploma paper is analysis of different growth strategies of economic policy in two africain countries in the time of their independency. The focus of this paper will be devoted to comparison of growth factors from the point of institucional economics. These factors will be investigated together with both economics -- Senegal and Kenya in 1960s and 1970s in connection with different colonial policies of Great Britain and France. In the final part, I 'd like to make some perspective strategies of both economic policies from the point of institutional economics.
The knowledge society and open economy: impacts on the competitiveness of the Czech republic in the global world

This diploma thesis is focused on the competitive advantage of the Czech republic in the global world of nowadays. First, it is important to explain the expression a "knowledge economy" or a "knowledge society". In my thesis, I will introduce the theories of human capital, knowledge economy, innovation, economic growth and divers sources of appropriate informations. After the introduction of these theories, I will follow up with the introduction of the Lisbon strategy and its analysis. Here, I will do a comparison of the EU, Czech Republic and the global economy. The reason of this thesis is to show a possible ways of development and economic growth of the Czech Republic. The Lisbon strategy reflects the complexity of this issue. Thus, the next chapters will be about the analysis of Finland's economic transformation and its current state. Following with the short introduction and analysis of the american and french education, science and research systém and shape. Thus, those acquired knowledge will serve me to make an outline of the possible solutions for the Czech Republic because our current situation enables us to inspire ourselves in the whole diversity and uniqueness of their economic and social systems and to apply their know-how in the broader context of the Czech republic.
Research, development and innovation investments: case study of the Czech Republic

Theoretical background for a knowledge- and innovation-based economic growth is built by macroeconomic theories of growth, whose overview is covered in the first part of this thesis. The methodology part designs and explains a set of indicators selected for the purposes of the consequent analysis, in order to assess and compare sources, outcomes and effects of research, development and innovation processes. The analytical part includes evaluation of all selected indicators including identification of probable causes of the identified developments and position of the Czech Republic within the European Union. The analysis is carried out in 5 consequent logic blocks, which fully cover the complete chain of consequences from costs up to final macroeconomic effects. One part of analysis concerning human resources in R&D is next to hard statistical data also based on the results of an own questionnaire survey designed especially for the purposes of this thesis to uncover motivating and discouraging factors standing behind university students' interest in doctorate degree attainment and in a career in research or development. The conclusive part of the thesis summarizes main findings and suggests directions for Czech R&D&I policy in order to achieve improvements in areas of the greatest inadequacies pointed out in the analysis.
Character and progress of investment policy in countries of asian tigers in period of economic miracle

In this diploma paper, I would like to explain and prove reasons of economic boom in selected countries in East Asia between 1965-1997. I focus on Asian Tigers namely on investment policy. I would like to answer the questions, what were the specifics of Asian Tigers, what contributed to economic growth the most, what implements were used within investment policy, how was this investment policy successful in individual countries and what role public sector (government) played. I focus on the role of human and physical capital, the role of foreign direct investment and I sum up their impact on economic growth in countries of Asian Tigers.
The comparison of the European Union Emission Trading Scheme and the Acid Rain Program in USA

The thesis focuses on comparison of emission trading of the European Union (European Union Emission Trading Scheme) which trades with carbon dioxide allowances and emission trading of the United States of America (Acid Rain Program) which trade with sulphur dioxide allowances. Despite of using same mechanisms and principles, these systems brought diverse results -- mostly because of different implementation of key parameters. The thesis which concerns with both of these systems is trying to find the major reasons of unsuccessful implementation of the European Union trading and the most important reasons leading to successful performance of the U.S. program.
