Stepper motor control using CPLD
Daněk, Jan ; Kolouch, Jaromír (referee) ; Kováč, Michal (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor thesis was the control of CPLD stepper motor. To create a radio controlled antenna rotator. The controlling is done by a computer using RF circuits. The thesis includes a construction and principles of stepper motor. Basic structures of CPLD circuits were applying to create the control circuit. The possibilities of sensing the position and the data storage circuit were discussed. The control program in VHDL was implemented in development boards. The development board is connected to radio receiver circuit and the stepper motor driver. A transmitting board was connected to a personal computer or other device using RS232 interface. Printed circuit boards for transmitter and receiver circuits were created. The PC program was designed for data transmission. The program sends data and communicates via RS232 interface.
Programme module of RS232 format receiver in FPGA
Hrubý, Jiří ; Kolouch, Jaromír (referee) ; Prokeš, Aleš (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis describes program module of RS232 format receiver. The program is written in programming language VHDL for circuits FPGA from Xilinx corporation. Within the frame of the work the simulation and implementation of data receiver was solved. Simulation and implementation was performed by means of the development system XILINX ISE WebPACK.
Voltage convertors for microprocessor devices
Kus, Václav ; Kolouch, Jaromír (referee) ; Michálek, Václav (advisor)
The task of this semester work is carried out summary converters DC / DC power supply suitable for small microprocessor devices with LCD display. As the input source voltage is 9V battery or two batteries (3V). The market has recently appeared a lot of manufacturers of these drives but more detailed information often not available. This work I wanted to help in selecting the correct convertor for your microprocessor equipment. The aim is not to describe all DC / DC converters. Another point of this work is the proposal of two DC / DC converters powered from 9V battery, and two converters fed from two batteries 1.5V. These converters are measured throughout the operating range of output values. This work also contains the documentation for the construction and use.
Wireless safety appliance
Čapek, Lukáš ; Kováč, Michal (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The purpose of this project is to secure an object, for example bicycle, buggy, merchandise. Protecting device consists of a sensor unit and a pager unit. Both of these units contain a transceiver which works in ISM band. Operation circuits drive microprocessor AVR with low power technology because of possible battery supply. Sensor unit is monitoring the state of sensors and battery discharging. This unit can use accelerometer sensor and two contact sensors. The pager unit indicates alarm, the state of battery in both units and signalizes loss of connection.
Communication between FPGA and computer - USB high speed
Kollár, Tomáš ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
This bachelors thesis is about a possible interconnection method of FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) chips with the PC through the USB 2.0 bus. These programmable arrays are very important nowadays mainly because of their high speed and high flexibility. Such properties make possible to use FPGAs in applications that require small data bandwidth and also which can utilize the whole bandwidth offered by the USB 2.0 bus. This thesis deals with possibility to use such transfer rate and its short description followed by the design of PCB layout. As the communication between the FPGA and the PC is made possible with the help of a microcontroller capable of handling such requests, I decided to include a short description of its functionality and working principle description in the thesis. The last part describes the communication through the GPIF interface for high-speed transfers.
RS-232 Serial Data Transmitter
Paul, Martin ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to create an RS-232 transmitter in the Xilinx ISE WebPACK development system with the possibility to set the details of transmitted data by input signals. It is necessary to explore demands of the designed transmitter in terms of consumption of the structural components in the PLD network. The function test of the project was done by the help of development kit.
Autonomous generator of test scripts
Horký, Stanislav ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The subject of this master thesis are state machines and their testing. To this purpose, an application is described, which is able to test these state machines autonomously. Application have two parts, first generator and editor of data is built and second part is testing procedure, which is able to test state machines in question and to give corresponding test report.
LCD display controlled by a MCS-51 microcontroller
Forman, Tomáš ; Fedra, Zbyněk (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The target of this project is a study of posibilities of connection LCD displays to single-chip microcomputers. Then to design, make and drop a mechanism which is able to arrange communication between a dot matrix LCD and a personal computer. A piece of the project is a creation of needed software for a microprocessor and a creation of its own communication protocol. The last part is making a simple service application for a personal computer which is able to send the data to the mechanism. The next target of the project is getting a view of used technologies, possibilities of their next use and next possibilities of the mechanism already created.
Signal and data logger
Borsányi, Tamás ; Vyskočil, Pavel (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The goal of this project is to design a signal and data logger, which captures analog and digital signals with very long record time. The device supports multichannel complex triggering, a real-time oscilloscope-like mode and an offline mode for analyzing of previously sampled data. This project contains detailed analysis of the topic, description of hardware and software solutions and used methods. The thesis also contains verification tests and measurements. This device will be mainly used for hardware debugging of microprocessor based applications.
Accumulator diagnostic bus interface
Chytka, František ; Kolouch, Jaromír (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The thesis deals with design and construction of diagnostic device for batteries. In the analysis I described and compared well known I2C bus and quite similar SMBus. The latter bus is used in the laptop batteries called Smart Battery. The design includes the USB bus, which I described briefly in analysis too. I suggested a several designs, discuss them and build the best one of them. The realization of the diagnostic device includes construction aspect and programing aspect. Both aspects are described in the thesis. At last, the results of test diagnostic of several batteries carried out by designed device are introduced.
