Title of the Bachelor Thesis: The creation of A.Averchenko in emigration Abstract The graduate work «The creation of A.Averchenko in emigration» is dedicated to the research of the creative work of an outstanding writer of the XX century beginning, who is a well-known classic of Russian satiric and humorous prose. The aim of research is the analysis of Averchenko's literary activity during the giant revolutionary turn in Russian history, the changes in his sense of humour in the emigration and the influence of the new society on the writer's creation in his Czech period of life. The object of analysis in this work, as well, is the single Averchenko's humorous novel «The Joke of the Maecenas», written in the emigration. This bachelor thesis deals with the last novel by Dostoyevsky The Brothers Karamazov and the film based on the book directed by a screenwriter Petr Zelenka. The first part of this thesis deals with a comprehensive analysis of Dostoevsky's novel The Brothers Karamazov in terms of literary theory and history, the second part focuses on the issues of the film adaptation based on the novel The Brothers Karamazov, directed by Petr Zelenka. The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive and integrated analysis of the novel The Brothers Karamazov. This thesis investigates, if ideas of Dostoevsky's works are currently up to date. Above all, this work deals with comparison of literary and film adaptations, focusing primarily on formal and semantic differences of these entities. The first chapter of this thesis deals with the genesis of the novel The Brothers Karamazov. In this section, a creation of the novel The Brothers Karamazov is placed in historical context and there are described the effects and circumstances that Dostoyevsky was influenced by in the course of writing this novel. Mikhail Bulgakov on the crossroad of prose and theatre way: novel Belaya gvardia and play Dni Turbinykh

Mikhail Bulgakov has won the most acknowledgeable position in the world literature of the twentieth century among the Russian writers. His recognition is marked by the steep rise of interest in his works. Nevertheless the difficulty arises in the interpretation and understanding of many diverse associations and signs, which were determined to draw the reader's attention and to calm the anger of the official censorship. His novel "The White Guard" and the play "The days of the Turbins" put a particular stress on the situation of the White movement in 1918 in Kiev. It is all shown through the difficult decisions and choices of the Turbin family, which try to save the old values. The whole revolutionary atmosphere reflects the uncertainties of the historical period. There are many allusions, which describe the burning issues of the time. The meeting of the three coloured forces - white, yellow-blue and red - led to the tragic ending on the crossroads of the historical maze. Bulgakov masterly described everything he witnessed in prose and then brought it to the stage. The process was long and his creativity was marked by the censorship intrusion, which underlines the importance of the topic.

This thesis explores the genre of travelogues in Russian Medieval literature. The author is interested in the origin, the formation and the evolution of the genre. She studies the genre variations and analyses the concrete literary works in the historical and cultural context. The aim of the thesis is to compile the theme of Russian medieval travelogues and try to create a complete and interesting work.
Influence of Radishchev 's reference on chosen russian authors of the 19th century

This Bachelor Thesis is based on a well-known fact, specifically, continuity and allusion, which are really important features of Russian classical literature. In other words, the principle, that the authors of different times were making open dialogues between each other. In the thesis the work The Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow written by Aleksander Nikolayevich Radishchev is analyzed. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the period of time the book originates from, specifies closer the genre, notices the acceptance of it by critics of that times. And finally it also follows up Radishchev's political opinions that can be easily perceived as an irreconcilable dispute between two main personalities associated with the ideas of Enlightenment - reformer of society Radishchev and Catherine II, reigning empress. In practical part, there are found, based on comparative analysis of complex of short stories The Hunting Sketches by Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev and The Pit by Aleksandr Ivanovich Kuprin, some connections and similarities with respect to Radishchev's ideas. No matter, that The Pit was written after the abolition of serfdom; however, the two other books were written before the abolition. Tématem mé diplomové práce jsou české reflexe Démona M. J. Lermontova. Pojem démon se vyskytuje v lidském myšlení již odpradávna. Své místo našel samozřejmě i v dílech mnohých dalších umělců různých dob a národů světa. I tyto podoby démonů mohou být do jisté míry ukryty v Démonu Lermontovově. Na začátek práce jsem proto zařadila kapitolu stručně pojednávající o démonu jakožto kulturním jevu, z níž by měla být patrná proměnnost a variantnost tohoto ambivalentního pojmu. Démon je ústředním tématem veškeré tvorby M. J. Lermontova. Přestože je odrazem dobové společenské situace, generační výpovědí, čistě romantickým symbolem a v návaznosti na křesťanskou věrouku vyjádřením věčného protipólu dobra, skrývá v sobě především vlastnosti svého tvůrce. Démon je v první řadě vyslovením autorova životního pocitu, zrcadlem Lermontovova nitra. Problematiky vzniku a vývoje démona v životě i díle M. J. Lermontova se týká kapitola Démon v díle M. J. Saint Petersburg in works of A. S. Pushkin and F. M. Dostoevsky

The Bachelor Thesis deals with the image of a city in the literature. Specifically, it analyses the conception of Saint Petersburg in a narrative poem The Bronze Horseman written by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin and a novel Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky. The thesis is divided into two parts - the theoretical and practical ones. The theoretical section focuses on the topic of urbanism in the literature in general. It concerns with the main key motifs, space-time continuum and general character types. Then the brief history of Saint Petersburg with the special concentration on the 19th century is mentioned. In the practical section the analysis of both literary works is accomplished. On its base these two pieces of work are compared finally. The goal of the thesis was to find some facts these two literary works, in which portrait of Saint Petersburg is depicted, have in common and on the other hand to examine some differing points. It turned out, that The Bronze Horseman and Crime and Punishment, works so different for the cursory check, have a lot of facts in common.

The Russian Nights of V. F. Odoyevsky Abstract The theme of this bachelor thesis is a book of Russian author and philosopher Vladimir Odoyevsky, who lived in 19th century in Romantic Period. This book was his most important work and he named it The Russian Nights. The symbol of this title and the others motives are part of this work, same as author's view on human being. Odoyevsky has different heroes with the same type of substance and for them he creates different situations, in which is formed the contrast of the brilliant mind of his main characters and ability to perform their talent. Readers can see heroes' way of living in society, when their extraordinary ideas have never realized. The type of hero - insane genius is a typical for Odoyevsky and this element was an inspiration for all great authors in Russian literature in 19th century. The Romanticism of Pushkin and Mácha, a Comparative View

Autora diplomové práce již během studií zaujala romantická postava "vzbouřence". V ročníkové práci z bohemistiky byla věnována pozornost specifickému typu "zbojníka" ze stylistického hlediska v české literatuře XX. století. V diplomové práci se autor zaměřil na rozbor motivu romantického "vzbouřence" jako předchůdce "zbojníka" v novodobém smyslu slova. "Vzbouřenec" patří mezi typické romantické postavy, které aktivní formou prožívaly rozpor mezi vlastními představami o životě a dobovou společenskou situací. Buď se snaží uniknout bezútěšné životní realitě útěkem do světa fantazie jako Novalisův Ofterdingen, či idealizovat středověké rytířské ctnosti jako Hugův Hernani, případně se bouří proti společnosti jako Mickiewiczův Wallenrod. Tyto postavy byly přesvědčeny o své pravdě, kterou hájily i za cenu vlastního života, jejich morálně obhajitelné činy se ovšem často ukázaly jako marné. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The Russian Translations of A Clockwork Orange

The diploma thesis "Russian translations of A. Burgess' novel lA Clockwork Orange" deals with the question of translation of Russian words used in the book written in English into Russian. It also deals with the problem whether the former aesthetic value of the original is being preserved in the translated works as well. You will discover linguistic and literary analyses of the original version and its three Russian translations (which were published in Russia under the title 'Заводной апельсин') and a comparison of them. The Sinélščikov's translation seems to be the most successful at the first sight. He translates the Russian expressions used in English by English and American words. But only if you read the whole book you will find out that he slightly changes the original plot and thus he also shifts the meaning of the novel. In other words he does not preserve the original aesthetic value of Burgess' work. In comparison, Nëtësovova's translation is the most successful of all as for the maintenance of artistic value of the book. Paradoxically, the most often published Bošnjak's translation is excessively vulgar and it is the less imaginative translation of all. His translation does not give the reader the possibility to get known or to understand the meaning of Burgess' literary work. Powered by TCPDF...
