Analysis of financing the Czech healthcare system in 2015 and the impact of the abolition regulatory charges on its sustainability

The final thesis analyzes funding of Czech healthcare system in 2015 and shows its sustainability in future years in order to answer the question, what is the impact of the abolition of regulatory fees, which were introduced in 2008, subsequently in 2014 and cancelled in 2015. Many demographic changes, specifically age structure of the nation, occurred over recent decades in the Czech Republic. This fact caused disproportionate changes on the expenditure side and the revenue side of the health system. The state tried to balance this disparity with short-introduced charges, but those were abolished due to the political pressure. The final thesis assesses the appropriateness of this measure. The theoretical part explains the healthcare system in the Czech Republic and all its entities, explains different approaches to the concept of health and issues of regulatory charges. The practical part is devoted to analysis of statistical data. There is the state of health care through the last of the statistics and demographic prognosis described. Following part talks about the issues of charges in a broader context of health care. There are also global trends and the biggest problems that the Czech Republic faces in that direction defined. The conclusion evaluates the role and effectiveness of regulatory charges and the impact of their abolition, offers possible solutions or recommendations, which are formulated on the basis of evaluated data. The final thesis concludes that regulatory charges are suitable complement to the overall reform, but this arrangement is not capable of comprehensively addressing current and possible future problems by itself.
The impact of the waiting period implementation on the sickness insurance in the Czech Republic in the years from 2008 to 2014

This bachelor thesis deals with the implementation of the waiting period into the sickness insurance in the Czech Republic in the years from 2008 to 2014. The theoretical part explains the fundamental concepts related to the sickness insurance, the health insurance allowance and the waiting period. The practical part consists of a legal analysis and the current happening around the waiting period in the Czech Republic or in the EU and EFTA member states. The income and expenditure analysis of the sickness insurance helps to reveal that the costs of sickness insurance have decreased, which was also due to the implementation of the waiting period. This work evaluates data, which indicate that the short-term morbidity has decreased as well as the work incapacity. There are detailed calculations in the conclusion which show how adjustments in the sickness insurance changed the amount of wage compensation and the sick benefits. The aim of this work is to identify and quantify the benefits and costs of the waiting period implementation within the sickness insurance in the Czech Republic.
Analysis of the impact of social reforms in the parenting labor market in 2012-2015

Bachelor thesis is focused on efficiency of social reforms, which was made in 2012, specifically for establishing equality of the two and four-year parental allowance and analyzes the effects which was brought with this change. This thesis shows that even without a fundamental change in expenses on parental allowance, its amount and gender structure of beneficiaries, parents increased their demand on daily form of collective childcare after year 2012. Reason is that parents can work and at the same time can child over two years old attend care programs on daily basis, so that parent doesn´t loss entitled to parental allowance. Private facilities responded to that increased demand, because they have easier possibilities to upgrade capacity than public day care centers. Part of social reforms concerning parenting also reduce unemployment of parents of children in preschool age and significantly increased the number of part time working peoples. In conclusion is made prediction of parental allowance recipients based on birthrate and suggested economy recommendations. This thesis brings evaluation of specific parts of the social reforms of 2012 regarding parenting from a macroeconomic perspective.
Analysis of unemployment in the Ústí nad Orlicí district in 2009 - 2015

The bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of unemployment in the district of Ústí nad Orlicí during 2009 - 2015. The thesis deals with of the evolution of unemployment. The next part is focused on issues of microregions. It also describes structure unemployment for example duration of unemployment or educational structure. The thesis includes survey research which monitors the situation on the labour market through eyes of the employers in the district of Ústí nad Orlicí. The thesis evaluates that the most prone microregions of unemployment are Česká Třebová and Králíky where currently live the biggest group of long-term unemployed people and people with primary education. Although unemployment rates fell to 4,9 percent, survey research shows that employers have problem with recruiting new people.
Equal opportunities for men and women focused on the labour market in Sweden and Czech republic in the years 2004-2014

Bachelor thesis is concerned with the issue of equal opportunities for men and women on the labour market. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the position of women on the labour market in Sweden and Czech republic in the years 2004-2014. In the theoretical part there are defined basic terms related to the concept of equal opportunities. Tools for promoting gender equality are introduced in form legislative framework, institutional assurance and financial support in the European Union. The empirical part is focused on the comparative analysis of the position of women on the labour market by basic statistic indicator differentiated by gender. Attention is given to the gender segregation on the labour market and the gender pay gap. In the last chapter are formulated measures to improve the situation of women on the czech labour market. This thesis refers to inequality positions of women on the labour market which can be overcome by changing of gender stereotypes, support the balance between work and family, flexible forms of work or formulation of family policy
Analysis and comparison of healthcare sytems in the Federal Republic of Germany and in France from 2004 to 2014

This bachalor thesis deals with financing and quality evaluating of the health care systems in the Federal Republic of Germany and in France. The analysis covers the period from 2004 to 2014. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of health, its determinants and health care systems in particular. The analytical part provides financing and quality analysis of both health care systems and their futher comparation. Results of this thesis suggest that France has cheaper, nevertheless higher quality health care system.
Minimum wage in Czech republic after 1990 and its use as supplement to social transfers

The aim of this thesis and its main contribution is to propose a model of optimal minimum wage that takes into account the income structure of the Czech population and the impact of adjustments to the minimum wage on unemployment and the structure of social transfers. Model brings the optimization of household income and savings in social policy redistribution, while optimizing employment and social benefits . The main hypothesis of this work is the assumption that the minimum wage can serve as a supplement social transfers. Given the ever- increasing expenditure on social security system and an open , lively debate about the consequences of the introduction of a minimum wage, this is a very current topic that needs attention. Contribution of research of this issue is to design possibilities for savings in expenditure on social policy. In the theoretical part the emphasis is aimed on the characteristics of household income, income inequality, the theoretical foundations of the social security system , tax theory and especially the concept of the minimum wage from the perspective of different economic schools. This part states the grounds for further statistical analysis and research in selected models of optimal minimum wage. The practical part is an analysis of three selected models of optimal minimum wage as well as an analysis of legislative developments and statistical values of key indicators to which the foundations were laid in the theoretical part. The research emphasizes the correlation between variables in national economy, identifying key social benefits appropriate to optimize and the implementation and effects of a possible increase in the minimum wage . The main focus of the practical part is a combination of previously gained knowledge to design model of optimal minimum wage.
The impact of demographic ageing on changes in employment policy in Europe in the years 2000 - 2015

This bachelor thesis deals with changes in employment policy of older people when especially at the time of ageing populations the emphasis should be put on preventive measures on increasing of employment of older workers. The aim of the thesis is to analyze and evaluate the development of policy changes in employment of older people in selected European countries in the years 2000 - 2015 - with a detailed look at Great Britain and Germany - and to compare these policies with the situation in the Czech Republic. It assesses that the introduction of changes in the employment policy of people 50+ in Great Britain and Germany was effective and employment of persons aged 50 - 64 years increased in 2000 - 2015. Although the Czech Republic is above the average of EU 28 there is a place for change compared with Great Britain and Germany.
Women in context of harmonization of family and working life in Czech Republic in 2015

This thesis analyzes the possibility of harmonizing work and family life of women in Czech Republic in terms of CSR. The first part of thesis deals with the historical context and provides theoretical base for the topic of harmonization of work and family life, and explains the concept of CSR. The qualitative research represented by controlled interview was conducted in the second part of thesis. Findings of research show that the concept of CSR is still rather a matter of multinational enterprises. Although the concept of CSR is incorporated by some companies, it is focused primarily on environmental area. Considering reconciliation of work and family life, the above mentioned concept of is usually not applied.
Social policy tools in support of active fatherhood in the Czech Republic in 2015

The growing emancipation of women on the labour market causes problems in reconciling their professional and parental roles. The present thesis discusses possible solutions to this problem by involving fathers in childcare and household care. It analyzes the feasibility of this approach, as well as its possible legislative and financial support. The theoretical part examines the current Czech legislation in this area within an international context. Both the legislative and financial tools are subsequently analyzed in the practical part. The thesis focuses on paternal and parental leaves and part-time jobs. Based on the analysis and international comparison, it proposes the factors crucial for using these benefits and looks for ways of effectively influencing these factors.
