Methodology of Psycho-Acoustic Experiments for Testing Subjects of Listening Group
Mikšátko, Jan ; Kiska, Tomáš (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
The topic of this thesis is the metodology of psychoacoustic experiment for listening test for subjects of listening group. At the begining suitability of chosen listening room is analysed. In the next part there is some basic summary about psychologic a psychoacoustic experiments and in the last part the designed set of tests is desgribed, experiment is carried out and evaluated.
Acoustic Signal Pickup and Processing Using B Format Technology
Wiesner, Jakub ; Vlach, Jan (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
The work is aimed to proposal of system for acoustic signal pickuping, software processing and conversion into signals for surround sound systems. The work describes sound sensation by human auditory organ and associated effects of binaural hearing and multichannel stereo and surround sound systems. Next aim of the work is to describe ambisonics, surround sound and formats for surround sound pickuping, transmission, processing a decoding. An ending part introduces problems of surround sound pickuping by using of SoundField technology and output signals decoding process of this technology into signals of other surround sound systems.
Measurement of Non-Linear Properties of Loudspeakers
Friml, Vilém ; Balík, Miroslav (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with calculation of THD dependency on signal frequency and calculation of Rub & buzz distortion using MATLAB software. Thesis includes generation of signals suited for THD measurement, playback and recording using sound card and APx series 500 device. The APx device controlling and data acquisition by MATLAB is also addressed. Loudspeaker electric model is discussed for the use of Rub & buzz measurement.
Video sequence for supporting audio signal processing classes
Pavlikovský, Vladislav ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Balík, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor theses deals with making of instructional video for supporing audio signal processing classes. The theses is divided into three parts. The firs part is theoretical analysis of spatial effects, processing in time domain and processing in frequency domain. The second part is practical realization of effect panorama, moorers reberator, algorithm PSOLA and algorithm for robotization. The third part of theses is dealing with settings of Windows Media Encoder, which is suitable software for capturing video during a work on signal processing in Matlab and Simulink. The output of the thesis are two instructional videos, that should demostrate signal processing in Simulink.
Loudspeaker Box with Variable Crossover Frequency
Tomášek, Martin ; Balík, Miroslav (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with middle-sized loudspeaker system in D´Appolito configuration. The aim of this thesis is to design and to realize the loudspeaker system, which includes selection of suitable loudspeakers and their position in designed baffle including design of variable crossover frequency. The text is divided into a few sections, where are the points of this project described. In the first half there are briefly described basic principles of loudspeakers and design loudspeaker systems, especially 2-way loudspeakers, and specific properties of D´Appolito configuration. Then there are described principles of frequency crossovers used in loudspeaker systems and what is expected for their construction. In the second half, there is described realization of baffle itself and variable frequency crossover. Because this thesis concurs to semestral thesis, there is also a chapter about simulation. In the end there are diagrammatized the measured data of frequency and dispersion characteristics and a few dispersion characteristics for different crossing frequences.
Design of Algorithms of Digital Audio Processing for Simulation of Guitar Combo Based on Circuit Analysis of Analogue Prototypes
Mačák, Jaromír ; Přikryl, Lubor (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This work deals with computer simulation of a guitar combo. The complete simulation is divided into separate blocks and then transfer characteristics and frequency responses of each block are obtained from a circuit analysis of analogue prototype. After their aproximation, the transfer characteristics are implemented as waveshapers and frequency responses are simulated using digital filters designed according to their analogue prototypes. Designed algorithms are implemented as plug-in mudule in language C++.
Implementation of digital sound synthesizer in VST technology
Paukeje, Ján ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Mačák, Jaromír (advisor)
This thesis is focused on synthesis of audio signals and algorithm implementation by the help of technology designed for real-time processing. Analyzing individual methods of sound synthesis, the MIDI communication protocol and procedure of real-time signal processing. It is developed an appropriate software simulation ,on ground of studying these aspects, implemented by using C++ language. A result of this work is sound generator supporting MIDI protocol as a plug-in module designed for Windows platforms.
MIDI Controller for DAW Software Control
Korytář, Matěj ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis focuses on problematics of DAW controllers for sound production software. In this thesis is analysed Mackie Control protocol, one of used communication protocols. There is also an overview of MIDI messages, because Mackie Control protocol is based on MIDI protocol. The thesis contains two own DAW controller designs. First one is based on Mackie Control protocol, second one is based on Generic Remote which offers better customization.
Application for measurement of audio effects
Frenštátský, Petr ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Mačák, Jaromír (advisor)
The term paper is focused on the implementation and description of the application for the measurement of sound effects, which are implemented as plug-ins. Application measures in the time domain impulse response, transfer characteristics of dynamic effects. Application also shows the waveforms of attack and release time. In frequency domain application measures the frequency spectrum of the signal and frequency response of the system. The application is accompanied by the measurement of external effects by ASIO interface.
Simulation of Sound Field of Multiple Sound Sources
Kohoutek, Jan ; Kurc, David (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
The main task of this bachelor thesis is description of interaction of sound waves in field. To understand the whole topic important physical laws related to sound waves propagation are defined. It also deals with frequency and directional response of ideal point source which compares with real measured responses of direct-radiating electrodynamic loudpeaker. Thesis are shown some examples of sound fields on which are specified their behavior. It also desribe main properties for right functionality of line-array source. In practical part are measured acoustic pressure values which lead to creating a interpolation map of sound pressure level. This obtained map was compared with theoretical acoustic field. Part of this bachelor thesis is program which enable to simulate acoustic field created under variable sound and environment properties.
