Šťáhlavský, Libor ; Hlaváček, Jiří (advisor) ; Krátká, Lenka (referee)

And so the whole Kladensko been several generations of labor associated with these activities either directly in the industry itself or sector services necessary for the operation of mines and steel mills. The beginning of the nineties meant for this area great bewilderment and incomprehension, metallurgical and mining operations gradually ceased operating and the region began to grapple with a hitherto unknown phenomenon of unemployment. This thesis deals with the "destiny" of the region during the second half of the 20th century to the present. Qualitative research methods in the form of oral history interviews will try to map out the life stories of individuals associated with the aforementioned changes, to adapt to new social circumstances and views about their life before and after 1989. Rock-Climbing in the Region of the Bohemian Paradise in the Second Half of the 20th Century
Marková, Martina ; Vaňous, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Krátká, Lenka (referee)
Rock climbing in the cities of the Bohemian Paradise became widely popular already by the end of the 19th century. Quite specific qualities of the local sandstone attracted domestic as well as foreign climbers right from the beginning. After 1948, many of the regional climbers, whose qualities were undisputable even in the nationwide scale, remained reliant upon climbing merely within the borders of the former Czechoslovakia. Until 1989, majority of them were not allowed to travel abroad and thus they could not prove their skills and qualities worldwide. There was a very limited number of those who could participate in foreign expeditions and thus fulfil their dreams. The rare contact with foreign climbers became a source of new information, new styles and trends in climbing, and an access to new equipment and gear in general. To many domestic climbers, however, such sources remained unattainable, and without them they were often left to develop and produce their equipment by their own, until they were allowed to travel to the West. This paper, with the help of the method of the oral history and qualitative subject analysis, gives a concise picture of the history of rock climbing in the Bohemian Paradise in the context of the constraints set by the communist Czechoslovakia. The chapters trace the...
Copyright workers. The agency DILIA during the time of so-called normalization in memories of its employees
Burman, Markéta ; Krátká, Lenka (advisor) ; Vaněk, Miroslav (referee)
In this thesis, I present Dilia, the Theater and Literary Agency, at the time of so-called normalization from the perspective of its employees. On the basis of available documentation, the organization's history from the beginning of 1949 until 1990 (a time of revolutionary societal changes) is mapped. Then I describe the organizational structure and different scope of work of each department and afterwards I turn back to the history again, this time with the focus on historical events, especially during the time of so-called normalization. I present the events as they were related to corresponding changes in directorship. In this thesis, I discover on the background of the era how the former employees recall their everyday life. I recall the employees' recollections of everyday life, working and private, in the context of the era. These recollections include forced membership in social organizations. Ultimately, they assess their their lives the vantage of today.
Life of sisters from Saint Ursula in time of communism
Trunečková, Pavlína ; Doskočil, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Krátká, Lenka (referee)
This thesis deals with the relationship between the state and the Catholic Church during the years 1948 - 1989 and its impact on women's religious orders, namely the Union Order of St. Ursula, whose members in 1950 have been victims of internment and as a result of the centralization of the state in the event "Ř". Specific stories of six nuns documented the conditions in which the Order was forced to survive in a time when the activities of all religious orders were prohibited. The persecution of nuns were forced to work in agriculture, industry, and later also worked in psychiatric hospitals and social care institutions. The authentic experiences of survivors help us not only to reconstruct the sequence of historical events, but also give us nuns personal views on this difficult period, during which, regardless of circumstances, they managed to maintain their inner freedom. Individual narrative report in view of the time they experienced mostly match, but we find little differences. The aim of this work is to find continuity in the experiences, to understand and learn the motivations behind the positions of the narrators and on this basis to achieve at least partial conclusions.
