Sonates for piano and violin of W. A. Mozart
Kuroshima, Aki ; Tomášek, Jiří (advisor) ; Tomášek, Jiří (advisor) ; Kotmel, Bohumil (referee) ; Messiereur, Petr (referee)
Last year was the 205th anniversary of W.A.Mozart's birth. His violin pieces are also included in my repertoire. I studied concerts, sonatas and also other chamber compositions. One Mozart's composition is also part of my graduation cocert. It is Sonata for piano and violin B dur K454. I had been in possession of two different versions in the beginning. The difference between them in dynamics and ornaments caught my attention and I started to wonder which one was closert to composer's original intention. In order to cope with it, I gathered as many versions of this composition as possible and started to compare them. Despite"as per original" was written in the beginning of each, none of them was the same. I found it very interesting and therefore decided to make it the topic of my thesis.

This diploma thesis disserts on the life and work of Karel Janovický, a Czech contemporary composer. It looks closer at his childhood, emigration fortunes, studies and fruitful artistic life. It also tells about his post-revolution comebacks into his homeland and also contains valuable contributions of his two close long-time friends as well as an interview with the composer. The second part of the work concentrates at first on Janovický s composition language. It contains a quotation of one of his radio talks, and a complete list of his works. There is also a list of major performances of Janovický s works and a selection of press reviews. As an example of his music, a brief analysis of the Sonata for Violin and Piano (2001) is included.

Vacek, Kristian ; Kotmel, Bohumil (advisor) ; Kotmel, Bohumil (advisor) ; Snítil, Václav (referee) ; Messiereur, Petr (referee)
Finnish modern music has been achieving remarkable success in the last few years both in Finland and abroad. My interest in Finnish music is obvious since I was living there nearly 17 years. In my work I present a brief overview of Finnish musical history and afterwards the most significant Finnish composers in chronological order. The information about composers contains only the most important facts about the composers' life and work. At the end of work there is a chronological table of all mentioned composers in appendix.
