XML Dictionary Tagging
Rojček, Martin ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This Bachelor's thesis describes data stacking of vocabulary into proper XML structure. It deals with structure destription tools(DTD,XML Schema, Relax NG and others) and transformation (XSLT)  of XML documents. It describes best known vocabulary storing formats into XML (OLIF, ISLE/MILE and others) and practical advantage to take one of method - store with helping of simplest ac.dtd. Implementation shows on relatively easy work with vocabularies stored in this form. Last part considers about getting statistic data with using Python scripting language.
Neural Networks for Autonomous Car Driving
Dopita, Marek ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
In this work, the principles of neural networks are introduced with a focus on autonomous vehicles. Based on this information, a proposal for the implementation of a system is created, which allows to drive a car without a driver. It builds on tools that allow easy creation and testing of autonomous vehicles. It is CARLA simulator and ranking. The proposal divides vehicle routes into three different situations. Each situation requires the use of different sensors, so a specific autonomous agent is created that is able to recognize the situation and switch between different neural network designs. Each such network is specific in its inputs and is taught in a specific situation.Programs are created that are able to easily collect a data set using the CARLA Leaderboard. Then, a way is introduced to how the collected data can be divided into categories so that each category can be used to learn its neural network.
Information Extraction from Wikipedia
Valušek, Ondřej ; Otrusina, Lubomír (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with automatic type extraction in English Wikipedia articles and their attributes. Several approaches with the use of machine learning will be presented. Furthermore, important features like date of birth in articles regarding people, or area in those about lakes, and many more, will be extracted. With the use of the system presented in this thesis, one can generate a well structured knowledge base, using a file with Wikipedia articles (called dump file) and a small training set containing a few well-classed articles. Such knowledge base can then be used for semantic enrichment of text. During this process a file with so called definition words is generated. Definition words are features extracted by natural text analysis, which could be used also in other ways than in this thesis. There is also a component that can determine, which articles were added, deleted or modified in between the creation of two different knowledge bases.
Extraction of Semantic Relations from Text
Schmidt, Marek ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
Extraction of semantic relations from English text is the topic of this thesis. It focuses on exploitation of a dependency parser. A method based on syntactic patterns is proposed and evaluated in addition to evaluation of several statistical methods over syntactic features. It applies the methods for extraction of a hypernymy relation and evaluates it on the WordNet thesaurus. A system for extraction of semantic relations from text is designed and implemented based on these methods.
A Relation/Topic-Based Visualisation to Aid Exploratory Search in Large Collections
Herrmannová, Drahomíra ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This MSc Thesis was performed during a special practice at The Open University, Milton Keynes, UK. In recent years a number of new approaches for visualising and browsing document collections have been developed. These approaches try to address the problems associated with the growing amounts of content available and the changing patterns in the way people interact with information. Users now demand better support for exploring document collections to discover connections, compare and contrast information. Although visual search interfaces have the potential to improve the user experience in exploring document collections compared to textual search interfaces, they have not yet become as popular among users. The reasons for this range from the design of such visual interfaces to the way these interfaces are implemented and used. This work studies these reasons and determines the factors that contribute to an improved visual browsing experience. Consequently, by taking these factors into account, a novel visual search interface that improves exploratory search and the discovery of document relations is designed, implemented and evaluated.
Recognizing and Classification of Traffic Situations
Zbořil, Jiří ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to identify and classify dangerous situations from surveillance cameras, monitoring traffic. An example of such situations is dangerous standing near by the road and car crash, on which this work focuses. The created system uses object detector, analyzing average images in given interval, K nearest neighbor and K Means algorithm and re-detection of enlarged local area in a frame to select anomaly candidates. Detected objects, that do not belong on the road are eliminated by attaching created road mask. At the very last phase, the interval, together with the classification is determined. Calculated F1 score is 0.645, S4 score 0.535 and precision of classification 80 %.
Automatically Updated Bibliography
Valo, Boris ; Škoda, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This paper describes the development of application for automatically updated bibliography. Nowadays, many Internet users search informations they need, this is important especially in sets of scientific publications and articles. The aim of this thesis is convenient tool for users to create their own portal. This is achieved by storing documents and their subsequent search using ElasticSearch. Retrieval is made by Boolean queries and additional search using similarity search tool MoreLikeThis. At the end of this thesis is described the way of testing and evaluation of retrieval.
Support for Sagrada Game on Mobile Phone with OS Android
Trněný, Jan ; Švec, Tomáš (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to create support application for board game Sagrada on mobile devices with OS Android. The solution consist of detection and recognition of the game pattern card and dices on board using the OpenCV library. Subsequently, support is provided, in any state of the game, for points calculation and rules checking for any number of players. These functions allow management of data for multiple users on one mobile device and help with faster rules checking and points calculation. Functions also help for beginners in understanding the game.
Image Processing on GPUs
Bačík, Ladislav ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis deals with modern technologies in graphic hardware and using their for general purpose computing. It is primary focused on architecture of unified processors and algorithm implementation via CUDA programming interface. Thesis base is to choose suited algorithm for GPU horsepower demonstration. Main aim of this work is implementation of multiplatform library offering algorithms for discrete volumetric data vectorization. For this purpose was chosen algorithm Marching cubes that is able to find surface of processed object. In created library will be contained algorithm runnable on graphic device and also one runnable on CPU. Finally we compare both variants and discuss their pros and cons.
Semantic Similarity of Texts
Hajdin, Martin ; Otrusina, Lubomír (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This paper deals with the determination of the semantic similarity of texts focusing on categorization of web documents in this case bookmarks. The part of the process is a theoretical overview of methods for system implementation. It describes the design and implementation of the various methods used in the system, too. This paper also deals with the evaluation of various methods where the chosen method are tested according to specified criteria.
