Infrared spectroscopy of thin films
Tyto výsledky nám pomáhají porozumět charakteristikám těchto tenkých vrstev a přispívají k pochopení procesu plazmochemické depozice z plynné fáze.
Influence of glass fiber degradation on the mechanical response of a polymer composite
Součková, Lenka ; Knob, Antonín (referee) ; Čech, Vladimír (advisor)
The bachelor thesis studies the effect of fiber degradation with commercial sizing on the flexural properties of polymer composite based on unsaturated polyester resin reinforced with long unidirectionally oriented glass fibers. Fibres of age 23, 61, 67, 112 and 135 months were used to prepare a series of composite samples. The mechanical properties of a composite containing 40.5% % vol of fiber were determined using a three-point bending test defined by ASTM D790-17 standard. From the obtained data, the flexural strength, the flexural modulus and the flexural strain were evaluated. It has been found that the degradation of the fibers and their sizing leads to a reduction in flexural strength. This was due to the reduction of adhesion between the fibers and the matrix, thus also the quality of the interface, which caused insufficient stress transfer from the matrix to the fibre. The resulting difference in strength of composites with fibers aged 23 and 135 months was 0,19 GPa with respect to the origin value of 1,17 GPa. The obtained values were used to assess the correlation between the flexural strength of the composite and the shear strength. Pearson's correlation coefficient set at 0,71 corresponds to a strong correlation. The effect of fiber degradation on the flexural modulus has not been demonstrated.
Comparison of specialized actigraphs with wearable devices in quantitative sleep analysis
Čech, Vladimír ; Zvončák, Vojtěch (referee) ; Mikulec, Marek (advisor)
Actigraphy and smart wearable devices provide similar functionality in quantitative sleep analysis. This work aims to verify how common wearable devices stand in comparison with a specialized actigraph used in clinical practice. The actigraph used in this work was Geneactiv Original and it was used to compare the sleep analysis results of eleven commercially available devices. The measurements for nine of the measured devices lasted for one week. Two devices were measured for six days. During sleep, the device was worn on the same hand as the actigraph, and at the same time a sleep diary was kept, in which data on the time of lying down, the time of awakening and the number of awakenings per night were recorded. After a week of measurement, the data obtained from the actigraph were evaluated by software and then compared with the data provided by the second device. In this work, data of total sleep time, sleep onset latency, number of awakenings during the night and sleep efficiency are compared. Ten of the eleven devices measured higher total sleep time and higher sleep efficiency than the actigraph. These devices measured higher total sleep time by 1.21 % – 12.06 % and measured higher sleep efficiency by 2.86 % - 13.86 %. One device, namely Fossil Sport, measured lower total sleep time by 9.02 % and lower sleep efficiency by 9.13 %. Sleep onset latency was the most distinct parameter. Wearable devices measured higher sleep time by 86.72 % – 1225.95 %. Neither device nor actigraph could reliably determine the number of awakenings during the night unless it was a significant physical activity during the night. From the results of the work, it is not possible to say in general that all commercially available devices would be a reliable substitute for actigraphy.
Plasma-enhanced chemicial vapor deposition
Žák, Luboš ; Salyk, Ota (referee) ; Čech, Vladimír (advisor)
Theoretical part of diploma thesis was focused on the search of the state of knowledge in the area of plasma, plasma polymerization and characterization of thin films. Plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) was described in the experimental part together with selected analytical techniques. The technology with high level of reproducibility was reached by precise control of deposition conditions, monitoring of plasma, and analysis of plasma products using mass spectrometry. The obtained results demonstrated that the elemental composition, chemical structure, optical and mechanical properties of films were influenced by effective power used.
Surface analysis of xGnP/PEI nanocomposite
Červenka, Jiří ; Klapetek, Petr (referee) ; Čech, Vladimír (advisor)
Tato Diplomová práce se zabývá povrchovou analýzou nanokompozitní folie polyetherimidu (PEI) vyztuženého exfoliovanými grafitickými nanodestičkami (xGnP). Analyzovány byly take vzorky nevyztužené PEI folie a samostatné nanodestičky. Nanoindentační měření umožnila charakterizaci lokálních mechanických vlastností PEI a nanokompozitních folií.
Thermal Desorption Spectroscopy (TDS) and its Application for Research of Surface Processes
Potoček, Michal ; Čech, Vladimír (referee) ; Pavlík, Jaroslav (referee) ; Dub, Petr (advisor)
ermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS) is a common method for surface analysis of adsorbed molecules. In chapter 1 the work deals with the theoretical background of this method and shows the principles of a desorption process influenced by subsurface diffusion. Chapter 2 first shows application of TDS for detection of surface molecules and determination of binding energy.Experiments were mainly focused on ditermination of surface adsorbents and impurities on Si wafers. The second part of chapter 2 describes desorption of atoms of a Ga layer on Si surface and their subsurface diffusion. A Ga diffusion process was also observed by with secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) and numerically simulated.

Monitoring of the plasmachemical process using mass spectrometry
Ondra, Zdeněk ; Čáslavský, Josef (referee) ; Čech, Vladimír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) and the use of mass spectrometry to monitor the processes in plasma during the deposition of thin film. Tetravinylsilane plasma was used in the process of forming a thin film on the silicon wafer. The background of the spectrometer, the residual gases in the plasma reactor at basic pressure were characterized and the plasma polymerization process was monitored. This process was monitored with increasing effective power (2-150 W). The obtained mass spectra were assigned and described in detail. The plasma species that showed the greatest change were then characterized as a function of time during film deposition.

Adhesion of a-SiOC:H films on planar substrates
Lepcio, Petr ; Salyk, Ota (referee) ; Čech, Vladimír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with preparation of thin films of plasma polymers prepared by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition. Tetravinylsilane was used as a monomer. Two sets of samples were prepared. Samples of the first set were prepared at different effective powers from pure tetravinylsilane and samples of the second set were prepared from deposition mixture of tetravinylsilane with different oxygen content at constant effective power. The film thickness was evaluated by spectroscopic ellipsometry and chemical structure by infrared spectroscopy. A scratch test was used to determine adhesion characterized by the critical normal load. An appearance of performed scratches was obtained by atomic force microscopy (AFM). Film adhesion influenced by the effective power and oxygen content in deposition mixture was discussed based on the received data.
