Design of equipment for excitation of vibrations
Čípek, Pavel ; Šperka, Petr (referee) ; Frýza, Josef (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design of module for excitation of vibration. The module is a part of optical tribometer, a laboratory device. The tribometer simulates an interaction of two objects (steel ball and glass disc) in the presence of a lubricant. Very thin lubricating films between the objects are examinned. The new version of the tribometer enables research of lubricating film in conditions close to real contacts. The designed module uses an eccentric mechanism for excitation of vibration in a direction of the axis ball rotation. Set up of amlitude is enabled by changing eccentric part of the mechanism.

The design of a quadrocopter for food delivery
Gryc, Matěj ; Čípek, Pavel (referee) ; Skurka, Šimon (advisor)
Online delivery of hot food to the customer's home has become standard. However, as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, methods of safe delivery that do not require interpersonal contact are now being sought. The use of drones, which are already being used in some countries to transport goods and materials, seems promising. This bachelor thesis deals with the design and assembly of a quadcopter designed for food delivery. First, the frame was designed, which was largely fabricated using 3D printing. Based on calculations, the electronics including batteries and motors were selected. Then the mechanism by which the food transport will be mediated was designed. Once constructed, the functionality of the quadcopter and delivery mechanism was tested. Finally, the design was evaluated and possible improvements were mentioned.
Design of a sample grinding jig
Potoček, Samuel ; Čípek, Pavel (referee) ; Omasta, Milan (advisor)
Friction analysis using the device Mini-Traction-Machine (PCS Instruments) leaves a minor amount of surface and subsurface damage on the test surface of samples. Samples like this cannot be used for further testing. This thesis deals with the design of a grinding head that can be mounted on an existing manual grinder owned by BUT FME. In the first, research part of this thesis can reader learn about methods and machines commonly used for metallographic grinding and polishing, which inspired the design of this device. In the next chapter were proposed 3 concept designs of a sample holder, from which was one chosen to be further expanded in the last part of the thesis. The result of this thesis is a design of a grinding head able to work in a semi-automatic manner, working with more samples at the same time. The device regrinds or repolishes the damaged samples so that the samples can be reused for more friction testing. This in turn reduces the costs of test samples.
Design of a milling table for machining wooden boards
Uhlíř, Radim ; Mazal, Pavel (referee) ; Čípek, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the design and implementation of a milling table for machining wooden boards. In the research part, an analysis of the solutions available on the market was performed together with an analysis of workpiece fixtures, hand milling fixtures and linear guides. Based on the research, two conceptual solutions and several variants of structural nodes were proposed. The most suitable constructional solution was selected from the conceptual solutions, calculations of critical nodes were performed and drawing documentation was made. Subsequently, a prototype of the table was made and its functionality was tested. The table can clamp and machine a wooden board with maximum dimensions of 1000 x 800 x 100 mm.
Comparison of frictional properties of cosmetic massage products
Dohnal, Petr ; Čípek, Pavel (referee) ; Vrbka, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis examines tribological properties of massage products (creams and oils). Its aim is to create a comparison of the selected products. Tribometer in the pin-on-plate configuration was used for the experiment because of its ability to simulate the process of rubbing the product on the skin. Cowhide was used as a model of human skin. The attributes of products were compared based on the characteristics of the coefficient of friction during the measurements. Through the experiments a suitable parameter was found for easy comparison of the product's durability. According to the results the best oil was selected in terms of durability and lubrication. The thesis could be used as a basis for creating a standardised method for evaluation and selection of products suitable for massage purposes.
Effect of toothpaste abrasiveness on friction and wear of dental fillings
Formánková, Pavla ; Čípek, Pavel (referee) ; Vrbka, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis dealt with research, that links dental hygiene issues with tribology. The aim of the thesis was to analyze the effect of abrasive particles of toothpastes on friction and wear of dental fillings. The friction coefficient was evaluated in a tooth brushing simulation on an UMT TriboLab tribometer that lasted 260 minutes. The tribological system consisted of a toothbrush, a sample of composite material and a solution of artificial saliva with a selected toothpaste. Each paste was defined by an RDA value from 0 to 250, expressing the degree of abrasiveness therefore the ability of the toothpastes to wear the material. Wear was analysed on a Bruker Contour GT-X optical profilometer. From the measured values it was found that the influence of abrasive particles is significant in terms of wear of dental fillings. For both the friction coefficient and the material loss when measured only in the presence of artificial saliva, the resulting values were generally lower. However, the material loss in the toothpastes measurments did not increase linearly with the RDA value as expected. Literature studies and measurements have shown that this may be due to other factors affecting wear. Future research on these factors could lead to the selection of more gentle toothpastes in dentistry and thus prevent the increase in wear of dental fillings
