Psychological and social aspects of unemplyoment

This thesis focuses on the social and psychological aspects of unemployment in the Czech Republic with the break on individual regions and with a detailed focus on the Usti Region. Defines unemployment and its definition, causes, types, stages and impact on individuals, not only socially, but also psychological. It describes the evolution of unemployment before and now and focuses on the last ten years of its development in our country. The works also show the impact of the job loss on the individual and his environment and the implications of long-term unemployment on health and mental wellbeing. All findings from the literature are verified on the basis of empirical investigation recorded in the form of graphical representation.

This diploma thesis is aimed at the topic of unemployment, mainly at its psychological and social aspects. In the theoretical part basic terms are defined which are closely related to unemployment. These are primarily: the definition of unemployment, the development and the structure of unemployment, social and psychological consequences of unemployment, reference to employment policy and the description of the European Social Fund programmes. The practical part of my thesis includes the questionnaire survey among the unemployed registered at the Labour Office Znojmo. Moreover, it presents structured interviews with the employees of the Znojmo Penitentiary, Probation and Mediation service Znojmo and The Znojmo Shelter who are in contact with job seekers affected by any of the social impacts of unemployment.

This thesis looks into human behaviour in crisis situations caused by non-compliance with child support order in the territory of the Bruntál district. The theoretical part describes the historical development of the family and its actual form, arrangements and function. It also deals with the institution of marriage and the issue of broken families in connection with the marriage and divorce rates in the Czech Republic. Besides, it inquires into problems of crisis situations in the family affecting the child, problems of mandatory child support and potential criminal responsibility in case of non-compliance with child support order. The practical part contains the results of a survey conducted among respondents who filed a complaint for non-payment of child support in the Bruntál district and comparison of these results and demographical, social and economic indicators of the quality of life of the citizens of the Czech Republic.

This dissertation thesis is based on behavior of human in crisis situations, and the focus is on stressful situations that police officers are involved in. The thesis defines basic concepts issues, analysis not just of the stressful situations, but also reaction to them, furthermore characteristics of the studied group and it lays out some of the general recommended stress management techniques. Performance of the municipal police in the Czech Republic are so specific, that the foreign principles were mentioned only marginally, and only because of the complex transnational perspective. The practical part of the final paper is focussed on identifying the most stressful situations that threaten officers and policemen in their work. This empirical research was conducted at pre-selected locations, so that they can compared with the capital city Prague to the results of smaller towns, villages at several locations in the Czech Republic. In addition, techniques were examined for coping with stress for the municipal police, and from the perspective of the individual police officer. In conclusion, there are specific recommendations to the data found in the survey.

The following thesis addresses unemployment, focusing on its psychological and social effects. The first, theoretical, section describes the labour market and how it works, and then defines unemployment, including a discussion of its various types and methods of its measurement. The importance of social implications of unemployment is stressed, including the description of its various psychological and social effects. The thesis also explores the tools the government employs to eliminate unemployment. The second, empirical, section includes primary research conducted by surveys. Asserted hypotheses are evaluated using statistical analysis of collected data. The thesis conclusion presents the research outcomes and recommendations.

Diploma thesis deals with problematic of unemployment, mainly with its psychological and social aspects. Unemployment became a common element of modern capitalist society. Impacts of unemployment are not only economical, but mainly psychological and social. There is an importance of work for human defined in this thesis and also difference between work and employment explained. The theoretical part of this thesis also deals with definition of unemployment and its basic types and vulnerable groups. Equivalently there are mentioned impacts of unemployment in the psychological, the social and the healthcare levels. Attention is also put on impact of social support, state policy of employment and on development of unemployment in the Czech Republic, in the European Union and in the Vysočina Region, where the research took place. Empirical part offers subjective opinions of unemployed and employed persons collected in realised interviews based on in-depth interviews technique. The main goal is to find out how these persons perceive the problematic of unemployment. Information collected in this survey were compared with data from academic titles of literature. Finally there are possible starting-points to smoothen impacts of unemployment suggested.
Burnout Syndrome

The first part of the thesis presents the theoretical definition of the term burnout syndrome. The most threatened people by the burnout are those who have been engaged in some activity for a long time, especially, those who works in the so-called helping professions i.e. health professionals, health visitors taking care of the elderly and chronically ill, social workers, teachers, psychologists and others. Another part deals with the history, symptoms, the course and also prevention and treatment options of the burnout syndrome. The theoretical part also clarifies stress as a trigger of the burnout. The knowledge gained and summarized in the theoretical part was used during the processing of the empirical part. The empirical part is based on the method of a quantitative research. Originally, it was intended to conduct a qualitative research among social workers and medical staff working at Homecare Domažlice. The homecare institution in Domažlice involve only 33 workers. The Aftercare Centre Motol with its 30 employees was added to the experiment to get higher amount of respondents and to compare the incidence of the burnout syndrome between professionals working at hospital and those who work outside of it. The discussion and conclusion summarize the facts and results and suggest a possible solution.

Bachelor thesis deals with behaviour of people in crisis situation, specifically with issues of the divorce and what impact does it have on those, whose parents are divorced. In theoretical part is defined concept od crisis in different meanings and concepts that are related to crisis. In Theoretical part is defined durings of crisis and how to solve her. After that is explained concept of family and defined family crisis. On to that is following explained compects of divorce, his history and law difening divorce. Relative to that are defined impects of divorce on to state (society), economicis of family and on to the behavior of person. The analytical part is focused on research, if divorce of parents of person has impect on the person. Based on one part of analysis was found out that divorse of parenst of person affects perosn´s behaior in situation conected to divorse and family crisis. Another part of bachelor thesis is focused to find out, if getting married is perspective for people, when it was find ou that it is. Last part of bachelor thesis is focused at answering question, if persons in case of there parents divorse are choosing mother. This question was not possible unequivocally answer based on our analysis. In conclusion are resumed the results of the analysis.
Burnout syndrome

This dissertation deals with the topic Burnout Syndrome. Burnout syndrome stands for a state of exhaustion, emotional withdrawal and loss of confidence in personal performance. The dissertation consists of two parts, namely the theoretical part and the research part. The literature research part summarizes theoretical findings on the subject, such as a characteristic of burnout syndrome, its causes, symptoms and development or diagnostic methods. The analysis of these topics is based on individual authors research. In the research part findings gained from the theoretical part were used and verified. The chosen organization, a state institution, the Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic, is briefly characterized. This part evaluates the incidence of burnout syndrome among employees in the selected organization. Information for the research part was obtained using a questionnaire aimed at both, managers and staff without additional subordinates. An unstructured interview with the President of the Office was also conducted. The information acquired was evaluated and interpreted and subsequently measures were proposed to eliminate identified inadequacy.

Markéta Radová: Chování člověka v krizových situacích. Diplomová práce je zaměřena na chování člověka v krizových situacích, blíže se zaměřuje na stres u strážníků obecní policie. Definuje základní pojmy problematiky, rozbor stresových situací a reakcí na ně, charakteristiku zkoumané skupiny, a uvádí obecné doporučené techniky zvládání stresu. Výkon obecní policie v České republice je natolik specifický, že zahraničí principy jsou v práci zmíněny jen okrajově, a to pouze z důvodu komplexního nadnárodního pohledu. V praktické části je práce zaměřena na zjištění největších stresorů a stresových situací, které strážníky nejvíce ohrožují při jejich práci. Empirický výzkum byl proveden v předem vytipovaných lokalitách tak, aby mohly být komparovány výsledky zjištěné v hlavním městě Praze oproti menším obcím na několika místech České republiky. Zkoumány byly i způsoby zvládání stresu jak z pohledu obecní policie, tak z individuálního pohledu strážníka. V závěru práce se nachází konkrétní doporučení k údajům zjištěných v dotazníkovém šetření.
