The Renovation of the Main station in Brno
Šiprová, Lucie ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Novotný, Miloslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with restoration and repurposing of main train station building in Brno. It consists of Building permit documentation and part of Documentation for execution of the project, both of which are based on architectonic study created as part of course AG33 - Architectural Design Studio III. during previous studies. The building is situated in Brno city centre, district Brno – Střed, cadastral area (municipality of) Město Brno (610003). The project assumes that the main train station will be moved ca 800 meters to the south, leaving the current train station building unused. The project incorporates a conceptual study of a new purpose for the historic building and nearby railway junction, including its interconnection with near surroundings. Detailed solution describes a new hotel building, which will replace current newest wing of the train station. The main idea of the transformation is to keep as much of the historic building and valuable structures as possible, avoid increasing the building footprint and bring new life to the building and city centre. The attractiveness of the site will be enhanced by a new park located in the area currently occupied by the railway junction. The park will be connected to the 2nd floor of the Tesco shopping centre and Vaňkovka shopping gallery by a pedestrian bridge. Parking capacity will be provided by a new underground car park built below the railway junction. Additionally, modern version of the original tower above the main hall, which was destroyed during World War II, will be built. The new hotel building, as well as all repairs and changes (new tower) will follow a modern style, while respecting and enhancing the historic Art Nouveau building and genius loci of the place.

Guesthouse Repechy - renewal and extension of farmhouse
Vrba, Petr ; Janok, Jakub (referee) ; Sátora, Josef (advisor) ; Novotný, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is based on an atelier project, which was elaborated during the summer semester of the third year of bachelor study. The subject of this work is restoration and completion of the former rustic building (farmhouse) situated on the outskirts of the village Repechy in the Olomouc Region, district of Prostejov. The building was probably built in the early 20th century. Its current state of disrepair was caused by the 2nd World War events, later inappropriate interventions and prolonged neglect and decay of the building. The building is mostly constructed from bricks and stone. The construction had several stages. At first, a two-story, partly cellared living area with nonresidential attic and associated economic parts was built. The cowsheds were built in the form of the "U" letter in the next stage. The object thereby got a character of an enclosed building with an outdoor atrium. A metal roof was later built over the atrium. The main aim of the project was to preserve the original shape and the appearance of a typical farmhouse as much as possible, while providing a new functional use, which might attract tourism to the Repechy village and embrace the charming landscape of Drahanské Highlands. This design considers the function of a pension with services such as recreational trips, including dining options, wellness stays, agrotourism and cycling. Hippotherapy is perhaps the most important function of the pension, the stalls part was specifically designed for its purposes. Due to the unsatisfactory state of disrepair of the building, it is more of a demolition, rather than completion and a subsequent reconstruction. Conservation of only the historically oldest and the most decorated northeastern frontage and the north-western corner of the original residential area is considered. In this frontage, there is the main house entrance and the original window openings with chambranles and above-window decorations. Because of the required
