Childern´s Sanatorium Ostrov u Macochy

The point od this master thesis is to propose a new Sanatorium with speleotherapy for children as an architectural concept. The building site is located on the northeast hill of township Ostrov u Macochy near the main entarnce to the cave, which is crucial for correct rehabilitation and treatment of the children. Sanatorium building contains everything needed for seasonal stay of the children – accomodation, school cafeteria with kitchen, medical space, rehabilitation with small wellness and one pool, cloakroom with equipment neccesary for the cave trip, administration part, common leisure spaces, spacious outside playgrounds and lastly all technical and technological things needed to keep the sanatorium running. In the surroundings of the building are couple of newly build family houses and the rest are meadows and forest.

Sport Centre Za Lužánkami Brno

The subject of this thesis is the architectural study of a sports center in Brno Lužánky focusing on the football stadium for 18,000 spectators. The equipement of the stadium falls into category 3 and it has some equipements of Elite category. The stadium is one of the objects of the recreational sports center za Lužánkami. The solution is based on the idea to link the life in the surrounding park and the life in football stadium. This is achieved through non-closed facade, that is formed by rods and a wire mesh. Ground plan is based on the football field and the requirements for visibility curve. The primary load-bearing structure is reinforced concrete skeleton frame, the stadium is covered by a steel truss. The upper part is lined with grandstandstitanium zinc plates which gently reflects the surrounding area and support the main idea.

The main idea in dealing with my thesis was to design a high quality public space where people will feel comfortable, safely and have a reason to come back. Furthermore, this is the place to be full of life and will serve the general public. The cultural center, that was designed, to become part of Královo Pole cultural campus, so-called K2-center, which will create a basis for free time activities, relaxation and education. A significant part of the proposed building is made up of multi-functional hall, library, restaurant, teen center and spaces for leisure time activities. On the ground floor will be located business parter and coffee bar. The aim of my project was to take into account what is most needed for inhabitants of Královo Pole for the purpose to meet the demands for quality leisure time for the widest spectrum of people. There is an effort to place the object itself as the most sensitive, given the current surrounding areas. The aim was not to design a huge object but especially a pleasant environment functioning as a center of leisure time activities.

The subject of the diploma thesis is an architectural study of the center for sport and leisure time in Brno “Za Lužánkami”. In is supposed to supply the space with the possibility of other sports activities. The object of the design is to provide a wide range of sports, fitness activities, wellness and recreation, various leisure activities, or just visiting the shopping passage, which is the main artery of the whole center. It allows people to pass between the leisure center, indoor pool and shopping mall in Královo Pole. The building is designed as a prefabricated reinforced concrete frame structure complemented by a steel latticework in the space of a sports hall and a climbing wall. Curtain walling is designed as a ventilated concrete slab with a photocatalytic function.

The theme of the dissertation titled the Centre of Sport and Leisure Time in Brno is a design of a relaxing and sport site „Centrum Lužánky“. The subject of this project is architectonic-city-planning study, which deals with elaborating a concept of a sport centre behind Lužánky in Brno-Ponava. This dissertation contains details of the facility and the area of the current swimming pool Lužánky. The current state of the facility built in 1979 doesn’t meet requirements of visitors and sportsmen anymore. The main aim of this project is the reconstruction of the current fifty-meter swimming pool, a design of a new swimming pool placed under the ground floor of the current building, which will provide space for organizing international competitions, trainings of professional sportsmen, etc. At the same time the busyness of the current swimming pools would be lowered by building a new indoor and outdoor waterpark, especially for the group of recreational visitors. The attractiveness of the facility will be increased by the newly designed park relaxing area and proposed multipurpose area, used as a sports field in the summer and as an ice ring in the winter. Additional value of the facility is comprised by an indoor and outdoor café and large relaxing area on the roof of the waterpark. The whole area increases the community facility availability by a proposed wide range of services for health, relax and sport. The advantage of the whole concept is the mutual connection of all facilities. The entrance to the area is shortened by a designed pedestrian bridge, accessible from the south and north busy areas. The whole project is enhanced by increased number of new parking places, located particularly along the access road, the street Sportovní, going through a green zone. The road and parking places are proposed in the design of residential streets, respecting walking pedestrians. The area has a very rich sport history, which is dated back to 1922. The project of the Sports and Leisure Centre Brno is dealing with the issue of creating a well functioning sports and recreational complex in Brno. The main subject of this thesis is a modern multifunctional arena with a capacity of 9 800, which is a part of the complex. The multifunctional arena is located alongside the main composition axis, which stretches from West to East through the Rybníček street to the football stadium. The arena contains dressing rooms for the ice hockey home team and visiting team as well as the youth ice hockey teams. The arena can serve multiple purposes and can be used for other sport and cultural events and as a result it also contains backstage areas and large storage rooms.

The cultural and community centre near the Brno dam - the architectural design of buildings for cultural and social and sports events

The design of cultural centre is situated in part Kozia Hôrka( well-known city swimming pool), in its advantage takes natural scenery and calm atmosphere of place. Into action of performance brings a message in form of body of reservoir, function of centre is divided into small parts placed in area Kozia Hôrka. Orientation of objects comes mainly from local natural ispirations. Complex is multifunctional in concept, counts with several sorts of culture - sports events. Whereby the main function of swimming pool is preserved and added for higher comfort of inhabitants. Architecture of objects comes from idea of floating leaf on water level and body of reservoir. Objects stylizely illustrate this idea. The design takes the game of solids of organic and strictly ortogonal shapes. Two mutual opposites, in interaction. Objects smoothy and with respect encroach the environment, which is enough marked by human. Simplicity in used materials ( glass, steel, wood ) give transparency and purity to whole solution.

The main task of the diploma thesis is to use the open areas between the streets Stefanikova, Reissigova, Sportovni and Pionyrská in Brno for creating a multifunctional urban structure with the appropriate functions. Diploma thesis is based on the urban-architectural design created in the previous semester project. Thesis closely addresses the proposed multipurpose building between the streets Stredni a Stankova. In the object is located school of arts, cultural and leisure center, restaurant, café, music club and rentable units. Under the building are designed collective garages.

My diploma thesis is mainly focusing on analyzing the potential of chosen site and it’s possibilities to be used for building a community center. Designed building should serve as a starting point for revitalization of Ponava. It is designed in a way, which makes this building an icon of the whole revitalization process and also is offering a wide variety of cultural events. In a combination with proposed solution for traffic and people flow a meeting point for a wide spectrum should be achieved with designed building as a podium for city life. Office block is then stepping out a bit from this coulisse and is the most dominant part which is supporting the other cantilevered volumes. By doing so, the important role of municipality is captured in the image of the building itself.

Apartment building in Brno

Bachelor's thesis is based on the studio project of residential buildings. The building plot is located on flat terrain in urban area and it is bordered by streets Táborská and Nezamyslova. Currently there is a building, which is intended for demolition. The target was to design a building that will cooperate with the surrounding buildings shape and size. The building follows the street line. The building is composed of three cubic masses. Northern part is designed with four overground floors, southern part is designed with three overground floors and the last part which unites other parts is designed with two overground floors. In the building is space for a cafe and shops.
