Artists Books and the Alternative Way of Addressing Readers
Pokorná, Gabriela ; Landová, Marcela (referee) ; Macháček, Mikuláš (advisor)
In my bachelor´s thesis I created a set of author´s stories and selected poems. I created a book titled 13 little gold flies and a set of promotional materials. However these materials should not promote the book superficially, but they're aimed to adress potentional readers, who will only find the core of the project - author's book - if they decide to react.
To the morning dawn I tread softly
Košťáková, Judita ; Solčáni, Ján (referee) ; Macháček, Mikuláš (advisor)
Morning dawn is a specific, time-limited part of the day. It's something on the edge – the tension between the end and the beginning, darkness and light, silence and noise. Time seems to have stopped, and at the same time it still flows towards everyday life. Autor enters the morning dawn softly, she turns on the microphone and conveys her authentic experience in the form of livestreams. The visual and sound recordings, together with the personal commentary, move on this edge, are in harmony and contradiction, and thus encourage the livestream viewer-listener to perceive listening as a new dimension of the perception of space.

Based on the new technological process and the experience from prints a new price calculation for the fan impeller using 3D printing was created.
Cholín publication
Krejčová, Kristýna ; Franta, Jiří (referee) ; Macháček, Mikuláš (advisor)
In short, my aim of this work is to introduce a unique place connected with my childhood – Cholín – by the media of comics and to outline its unusual social structure. I am trying to achieve this goal differently than by collecting data and structuring them. Instead of that, I create stories based on reality. My inspiration comes from oral narration and literary sources that have been published by members of the Cholín community. In parallel, I work with a local urban legend named Kvakev which is becoming a central figure. With her help, the comics are changing into a fictional document balancing between reality and imagination.
History of music
Janeba, Jakub ; Čumlivski,, Jan (referee) ; Macháček, Mikuláš (advisor)
In the book History of Music, the reader learns about music through all epochs of humanity (from prehistory to the present) in a simple, comprehensive way. The book is illustrated to entertain both small and large readers who appreciate the quality of the workmanship. The text in the book is processed in structured info-blocks, profiles of musicians and short poems, serving as a mnemonic aid. As part of my bachelor's thesis, I deal with a graphic concept, illustration, the concept of publishing a book, the preparation of a sales e-shop.
HUMAIN – Design, Art, Humanities and Artificial Inteligence
Matějová, Alina ; Kořínek, David (referee) ; Macháček, Mikuláš (advisor)
Artificial intelligence is a symptom of the future of the 1980s, a technological phenomenon esoterized by millions of lines of code, a spirit in a machine, an artist of generative design, a scarecrow fictionalizing dystopian surrealism. Artificial intelligence has been talked about for a long time, in various fields from information and communication technologies through sociology and political science to design and art. Czech scientific fetishism guarding the boundaries of disciplines, showing what we are and what the others are, where designers have nothing to say about the work of anthropologists and not at all programmers, who in turn can never know anything about philosophy or microbiology. Ivory towers protruding in the void suspecting those towers at a safe distance. The HUMAIN project and conference seeks to go against this and find common ground and common narratives between design, humanities and art. We are not talking about terminological multiplication, we do not want to bring interdisciplinary leveling. HUMAIN is a platform for finding a common language and establishing cooperation. We do not want William Gibson to write the future, but to reflect artificial intelligence from as many angles as possible and to aim for the greatest possible emancipation of people, robots and the planet.
