Aktive Learning as A Tool of Reading Literacy Development in a Primary School.

The thesis aims to explore those current methods of teaching reading. The theoretical part describes the active learning, its influence on a class climate, the demands it puts on a teacher and the benefits it brings to the learners. Next, we define the concepts of reading comprehension and reading literacy and describe a range of methods and means that contribute to reading literacy development. The practical part analyses the conditions for reading literacy development at primary schools and gives examples of lessons which implement active learning methods into the reading literacy development process.

The history of preschool institutions in Prague was demonstrated by the development of a nursery school in the district of Prague 6

The work deals with the history of preschool institutions in Prague and its main focus is on the development of nursery schools. Based on primary sources, it describes the first preschool institutions and the establishment of the first kindergarten in Prague. It follows the endeavours to reform nursery schools, mapping their status within the legislative framework. The second part of the work is devoted to the history of a particular nursery school in the district of Prague 6. The topic of the development of preschool institutions is very extensive, thus the work concentrates on the milestone periods. It monitors to what extent the development of these institutions was influenced by social and political changes. How they were reflected in the preschool education legislation and in the opinions on the status of nursery school in society. It shows the transformation of a nursery school that exercised supervision and took care of the children of busy working parents into an educational institution that has become part of the education system. By looking at history, we can learn and understand the historical context based on which we can think about the future.

The Social Principle of the Waldorf School as a Significant Factor Influencing the School Atmosphere

Cesta k tématu této práce vedla jaksi oklikou a začala vlastně již před mnoha lety. Krátce po roce 1989 jsem dostala příležitost strávit rok s mentálně postiženými dětmi jako vychovatelka ve švýcarském w aldorfském ústavu. Příležitosti jsem se chopila a začala se během zbývajícího půl roku učit německy. Začátek nebyl jednoduchý. Teprve po třech měsících jsem se byla schopna domluvit ( a zjistila tak, co asi prožívá těžce postižené dítě neschopné slovně se vyjadřovat). Zúžené obzory z našeho předrevolučního školství se mi počaly velmi rychle rozšiřovat. Zjistila jsem , že výchově i vzdělávání je v ústavu přikládána stejná váha. Úžasné bylo zjištění, že každé jakkoliv těžce postižené dítě má právo na vzdělání stejně jako dítě zdravé. Takové vzdělávání je přizpůsobeno jeho individuálním možnostem, a lze v něm spatřovat smysl. Nadchlo mne množství nejrůznějších nabízených terapií a činností pro děti, které dětem nesmírně v jejich vývoji napomáhaly, a zároveň i naplňovaly jejich životy. Ze vztahu učitelů a vychovatelů vůči žákům bylo cítit partnerství. Po roce stráveném zde jako vychovatelka - praktikantka - jsem se rozhodla zůstat a během dalších tří let jsem souběžně s praxí v ústavu vystudovala waldorfský léčebně pedagogický seminář. Poslední pátý rok jsem dostala příležitost vést skupinu šesti postižených...

The thesis deals with the legacy of Johannes Amos Comenius for the contemporary protestant education; it tries to pinpoint the timelessness of Comenius' thoughts, his pedagogical rules, methods and principles. The religious schools, where these thoughts should be practiced in the first place, have their position in the system of Czech education and provide safe surroundings for children coming from religious families. The history of religious education in Czech and Moravia points to its historical anchors and meaning of its value system for the whole society. History and perspective of multilevelled school specified on Jicin region

The target of this diploma thesis has been to process the development of Multileveled School in Jičíněves (district of Jičín) and to demonstrate benefit of the acquired knowledge for school work. The theoretic part devotes to the study of Jičíněves school commemorative books and in a wider view also whole Jičín region. Insight into the development, present position and perspective of the elementary education in the Czech lands with the focus on multileveled schools goes before these chapters. Historic methods and document content analysis has been used for this work. The practice part describes the project realized with pupils of primary school age. Its target has been to acquaint the pupils with history of the school in Jičíněves through activated methods and to impress on their attitude to the school and the place they live. Survey of present situation and perspective of multileveled schools in Jičín region including the school in Jičíněves has been done through the questionnaires and interviews. Vitality of the multileveled schools has been evaluated by analysis of the result.

The Development of Computer Literacy in Pupils from Minority Groups

In my graduation thesis with the title "Development of primary literacy of pupils from minority groups", I am trying to analyze teaching reading and writing of children belonging to ethnic minorities, who attend Czech schools. My thesis' target is to state possible approaches and recommendations how to develop the primary literacy of these children and how to minimize teaching problems. 1 also refer to legislature and possibilities of state assistance. The result of my thesis is mentioning different approaches of educators to teaching. The diploma thesis, entitled Preparation for learning reading and writing skills as a significant stage of primary literacy, deals with preparation for reading and writing. The purpose of preparation is to develop functions which are necessary when learning reading and writing skills. The aim of the thesis is to find out how teachers prepare their pupils for reading and writing and if they regard preparation as an important stage of primary literacy. Another objective is to make an inventory of activities which can be used, especially by inexperienced teachers, to prepare pupils for learning reading and writing skills.

The Experiences of Teachers of Children with Dyslexia

This thesis deals with the experience of teachers who work with children with special needs. It tries to map how todays teachers are informed about this disability and how they approach children with special needs through an exploratory study. Using a combined questionnaire we try to find out how the teachers are working with children with special needs, what they think about the children's integration into normal classes (inclusive education) and how they assess the results in partnership with educational psychologists clinic and with parents.
