Problems of Children Suffering from Type 1 Diabates Mellitus and their Families

This thesis determines problems of children suffering from type 1 diabetes mellitus and their families. It finds out intensity of the problems and compares obtained information within the family and within the whole group of informants. This thesis discovers how children and parents accept the disease and deal with it, compares children's and parent's wishes, their planes to future and also their knowledge about the disease. The aim of this thesis is to understand problems of families with affected child and find solutions to reduce their difficulties.

The story of the former Masaryk's Home in Prague documents the progress in social and health care in Czechoslovakia. Three medallions acquaint the reader with personalities closely connected with the fate of Masaryk's Homes: those of President Thomas G. Masaryk (1850 - 1937), prof. J. Thomayer (1853 - 1927) and Ing. Arch. Dr. Bohumír Kozák (1885 - 1978).
Comparating of nursing education in intensive care between Czech and Slovac republic

This thesis is concerned with comparing the education of nurses working in intensive care in the Czech and Slovak Republics. In the theoretical part of the thesis there are described the options for nursing education in anaesthesia, resuscitation and intensive care, both in the past and at present. Presented here is the comparison of the Czech and Slovak educational system, regulation of education, their similarities and differences. The aim of the empirical part is to find out what kind of education are nurses working with in the intensive care, what is their motivation to further education and to look at the current possibilities of nursing education in anaesthesia, resuscitation and intensive care in the Slovak and Czech Republic. To obtain the data for answers to these and other questions the questionnaire has been used; specifically the methods of quantitative research. The results are processed in tables and graphs. Competency of nurses working in intensive care in The Czech republic and Gerat Britain

Summary: The diploma thesis compares competency of nurses working in intensive care in The Czech Republic and Great Britain. Theoretical part of the thesis gives compact look to regulation of nursing profession, education of nurses and nursing registration in both countries. In this part are highlighted main differences of the legislation which nursing competency is based on in each country. There is also mentioned the public opinion of the nursing as a profession and its prestige related to both countries. Practical part of the thesis focuses on the interpretation of analysis of the research regarding the above mentioned topic. For the research have been used the method of collecting data by structured questionnaires. There was a questionnaire for each country in its own language. The aim of the practical part is to compare divergence of knowledge, skills and competency of nurses working in intensive care in both countries. Management of Oral Hygiene in Patients with Self-Care Deficit

This thesis describes management of oral hygiene in the group of patients with deficit of self-care. In the theoretical part there is an attention payed to patient's needs in the area of oral/dental hygienic care and procedures of implementation of dental and hygienic care in hospitals. Research is oriented on patients and their experiences with oral hygiene and dental care in course of the hospitalization.This research study is a primary elaboration of this subjekt in the Czech Republic.
Stress of nursing schools students during their practice training

This thesis deals with stress of nursing school students during their practice training in medical facilities. Its main goal is to identify the most common and most serious stressors that influence them. Theoretical part is about stress, adolescence period, practice training conception, nursing school types, nurse teacher personality and student preparation for stress situations. There is a description of found stressors in experiential part of the thesis. The stressors are further sorted by frequency of answers. Also comparison between various types of schools was done. Information about stressors was gathered via own questionnaire, research sample consisted of 334 participants from 13 nursing schools. Of 5 set possibilities 2 were fully confirmed, 2 partially confirmed and 1 was eliminated. Students consider as the biggest stressors nurse teachers, medical department staff, time pressure, lack of their own knowledge or experience and last but not least the responsibility. Students of different types of schools usually mentioned different stress intensity and order of the biggest stressors during practice.
The Level of First Aid Knowledge and Skill of High School Students

This diploma work is concerned with the subject of the first aid education on high schools. There is described the basic knowledge of laic first aid in the first part of diploma work - the theoretical part. Changes which became in November 2005 are accentuated there. Subsequently there is charted the level of the first aid education on high schoolst in the Czech Republic. The second - investigative - part is focused on the level of theoretical and practical knowledge of the first aid of high school students with the aid of questionnaire and model situations.
