Main trends of domestic migration in the Czech Republic

The aim of my bachelor's thesis is to clarify prevailing trends at the domestic migration of the Czech Republic from 2000 to 2011. The first part of my thesis is theoretical, explaining basic concepts, characteristics and indicators used to analyze migration. Second part is analytical showing development of migration among 14 regions and 76 districts in association to selected indicators which are extent, balance and effectivity index of domestic migration. In the same time analysis according to categories is done. Those categories are gender, age, marital status, education, motives and period of migration. In the conclusion is the summary of substantial information which were discovered during the study.
Gender differences according to demographic indicators in the Czech Republic

Gender statistics constitute the main tool, which enables the exploration of differences between males and females in different areas, not only demographic, economic and social. On a daily basis, we encounter statistical indicators which show different results for males and females. In the introduction of this bachelor thesis, basic terms relating to gender are defined. It focuses mainly on the most used terminology in the field of gender issues, which has been substantially influenced by the modern society. After collecting necessary data from the Czech Statistical Office and other sources open to public, the second part of the thesis describes selected demographic indicators by gender. This is done firstly for the Czech Republic as a whole and then at the level of NUTS 3 regions. In the third part, gender differences and relations between studied indicators are expressed with the aid of various graphs and several analyses of selected demographic indicators. It captures especially the diverse age and education structure, employment rate etc. The fourth, final, part focuses on organizations within the Czech Republic, which actively pursue gender issues.
The consequences of an aging population in the financing of the pension system

Currently, the topic about sustainability of the pension system is very much discussed across the entire population. The beginning of this thesis is focused on different types of pension systems. Next, there is described the current Czech pension system. The main content of this thesis is the analysis of selected indicators and indexes identifying the population ageing and the prognosis of their future progress. Based on the prediction of selected indicators and indexes, there are summed possible problems arising for the current pension system in the close future. Therefore, at the end of this thesis, there are mentioned some possible suggestions that could ensure the better functioning and stability of the pension system.
Foreigners in Czech republic after 1993

This thesis deals with foreigners living in the Czech Republic after 1993. Apart from the investigation on foreigners, the bachelor thesis also points to their education and economic activity in the Czech Republic. All of the chapters are analysed from several points of view, in addition to the actual number of foreigners, their ethnic composition and spatial distribution in different regions of the Czech Republic has also been indicated. The bachelor thesis points out the possible reasons leading to the decision of foreigners to work in the territory of our country or study at secondary schools or universities in the Czech Republic. The development of the number of foreigners at Czech schools of the Czech labour market has been processed into graphic form.
Suicidality in the Czech republic and selected European countries

This bachelor thesis is about suicidality in the Czech Republic and three other countries in Europe. These countries are Finland, Norway and Poland. The main goal is analysis of suicidality in each country and their mutual comparison. Other chapters are about basic concepts of suicidality, reasons of suicides and main ways of suicides. The last chapter is about regression of unemployment and suicidality in each country.
The main trends of the internal migration in the Czech Republic

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the main trends of internal migration in the Czech Republic from 2003 to 2013. These trends are explored among the Czech Republic regions and, individually, with respect of the central positioned region (called Středočeský kraj in Czech) within the purview of its districts. The work is divided into theoretical and analytical part. In the first part are explained the most important and basic concepts related to the migration. In the next section, the parameters are characterized and explained. Furthermore, there are explained and analyzed the reasons due to which a migration occurs. Special attention is concerned to economic reasons, which are currently influencing migration process. Finally, migration is analyzed according to five categories (marital status, educational degree, months of migration, reason of migration, municipality group size).
The development of mortality in Western European countries and former Eastern Bloc countries

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse and compare the development of mortality in Western European countries and former Eastern Bloc countries from 1960 to 2013. The theoretical part describes basic indicators of mortality and algorithm for calculation of complete life tables. Age-specific death rates which are part of the life tables were equalized by using moving averages and Gompertz-Makeham function. The practical part of this thesis focuses on comparing selected countries in terms of development of infant mortality rate without distinction of sex. However, the development of infant mortality rate is also traced separately for boys and for girls here thanks to which we can watch changes in the trend of male's excess mortality. This thesis also includes comparison of life expectancy development at birth and life expectancy at higher ages in individual countries and finds out the influence of the communist regime on selected demographic indicators.
The comparison of unemployment in the Central Bohemia region and in the Usti region

Unemployment is one of the biggest economic and social problem of the present day and not only on territory of monitored regions, but on the whole world. The bachelor work is focused on comparison of the unemployment in Central Bohemia region and Usti region. In the methodological part are defined basic terms and formulas which are both used in the analytical part. The analytical part compares the socio-economic statistics of population in the surveyed regions by using data from Czech statistical office and Ministry of labour and social affairs. The objective of this bachelor work is to create summarizing view of unemployment in both Central Bohemia and Usti region.
Demographic analysis of the Hradec Králové region

This bachelor thesis analyzes the Hradec Králové region in 2013. The first chapter covers the history and the characterization of the area. Further, the thesis uses demographic processes and methods which were employed for the purposes of this analysis. The second part consists of demographic analysis of the Czech Republic in 2013 and its comparison with the districts of the region Hradec Králové using data from the Czech Statistical Office official web pages. The analysis is presented with the help of population structure, the natural and net migration, marriage and divorce rate. The next chapter deals with the population projection which results in the ageing trend of the population. That is why the important social services for seniors are described in the chapter as well. Such services are not sufficient in the present days and one will have to solve this problem in the future.
Comparison of nuptiality and divorce rates in selected European countries

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the trends of nuptiality and divorce rates in selected countries and the subsequent comparison of these demographic events using appropriate indicators. Hereafter also finding the reasons for the different trends and comparison of the impact of the identified factors on the behavior of the population. Analysis is comparing three countries (Czech Republic, Spain and Sweden), with regard to nuptiality and divorce rates in the timeframe starting 1990 and ending 2012. The data used for the calculation of the characteristics have been drawn mainly from the European Statistical Office, or from national statistical offices of individual countries in cases when the main source does not provide the necessary data.
