Selected aspects of bionomy in the Northern spruce bark beetle, Ips duplicatus (Sahlberg), and their importance for management of this pest
Doležal, Petr ; Davídková, Markéta
The report aims to adjust protective measures to reduce the spread of Norway spruce bark beetle. All adjustments to methodological approaches are based on the results of field and laboratory research.
Diapause in the Northern spruce bark beetle, Ips duplicatus (Sahlberg)
Doležal, Petr ; Davídková, Markéta
The report summarizes results on diapause of the Northern spruce bark beetle. The studies were carried in the laboratory and in the field - North Moravia.
Ecophysiology of the large pine weevil, Hylobius abietis, unknown aspects of its life cycle
Doležal, Petr ; Davídková, Markéta
The report summarizes recent knowledge on large pine weevil ecophysiology, especially development on different host species and methodology of maintaining laboratory cultures.
Sister broods in the northern bark beetle, Ips duplicatus Sahlberg
Doležal, Petr ; Davídková, Markéta
The report summarizes results of three years research on sister brood establishment in the northern bark beetle. The results are compared with current methodology of forest protection against bark beetles to increase the effectivity.
Bryological Oriented Excursion in the Dolský mlýn Area
Davídková, Markéta ; Novotný, Petr (advisor) ; Skýbová, Jana (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to carry out an analysis of primary school textbooks considering bryophytes and bracken, as well as to plan a biological excursion in the area of Dolský Mlýn which would include mapping the terrain. The sixth chapter contains the analysis of nine textbooks from different publishing houses. I have compared them in terms of the number of pages dedicated to bryophytes and bracken and in terms of the number of stated bryophytes and bracken representatives. I have also compared whether the textbooks are provided by workbooks, methodological guides and other material, which could variegate biology and natural history teaching. The seventh chapter characterises the location. Mapping of the terrain for the planned excursion took place in September 2012. I chose fourteen suitable sites which are were easily accessible. The eight chapter includes methodical instructions of the excursion for teachers, worklists and the key to determining types of bryophytes. The practical verification of my thesis took place in April 2013 during an excursion of seventh grade pupils from the school ZŠ a MŠ Děčín IV. Laboratory training, which represents an integral part of the excursion took place in March due to unfavorable chmate conditions. Pupils determined mosses of genus Merike according to their...
Cold resistance and overwintering survival in the northern spruce bark beetle, Ips duplicatus (Sahlberg.)
Doležal, Petr ; Davídková, Markéta
The study summarizes results on cold resistance and overwintering survival in the northern spruce bark beetle. The experiments were carried out in both outdoor (eight localities in the Czech Republic) and laboratory conditions in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Changes of levels of cryoprotective compounds, supracooling points and dessication of overwintering adults were assessed.\n
Double spined bark beetle, Ips duplicatus (Sahlberg) – literature review and establishment and techniques of laboratory culture
Doležal, Petr ; Davídková, Markéta
The report consists of three independent chapters. The first chapter reviews previously published literature and serves as a basis for planning future experiments. The second chapter summarizes the experiences on laboratory culture of this pest gained during the two preceding years. The third chapter describes the field experiments that were carried out in 2015 – sister brood establishment in the North Moravia, cessation of flight and reproductive aktivity at the end of vegetation season, induction of imaginal diapause and overwintering success of adults during winter 2014/2015.
Sister broods in the spruce bark beetle, \kur{Ips typographus} (L.)
DAVÍDKOVÁ, Markéta
The aim of this thesis was to elucidate the establishment of sister broods in the spruce bark beetle, Ips typographus (L.), at three localities of different elevation in Sumava Mountains. Fecundity, sex ratio in the offspring, regeneration feeding, development of reproductive organs, re-emergence rate and other ecophysiological topics were studied as well.
Population dynamics of the spruce bark beetle (\kur{Ips typographus (L.)}) at selected localities in the Bohemian Forest
DAVÍDKOVÁ, Markéta
The aim of this thesis was to monitor the population dynamics and the reproductive status of the spruce bark beetle, Ips typographus (L.), at three localities of different elevation. I focused mainly on following aspects: number of sister broods per generation and per vegetation season, rate of development in the first generation and swarming readiness in diapausing and post-diapausing adults.
