Attitudes of the Czech Population Towards the Environment: Determinants of More Sustainable Traffic Behavior
Bémová, Alice ; Soukup, Petr (advisor) ; Urban, Jan (referee)
The thesis examines the relationship and attitudes of the citizens of the Czech Republic towards the environment and its protection. Specifically, it explores the willingness to reduce the use of automobiles and decision-making regarding the purchase of electric vehicles, as well as the factors influencing these choices. The introduction of the thesis reflects a shift in the perception of the environment from an anthropocentric to an ecocentric conception. The theoretical foundation for the analysis is the Value-Belief-Norm (VBN) theory, which examines the influence of values, beliefs, norms, and sociodemographic factors on environmental behavior, specifically in the context of reducing use of automobiles. The thesis employs a combined research design, including a quantitative survey conducted using the CAWI method followed by semi-structured interviews with selected respondents. The analysis reveals a growing trend of postmaterialism and an interest in supporting the sustainability of the environment in the Czech Republic. The regression analysis identifies key predictors of the willingness to reduce car use, including awareness of environmental issues, perception of the danger of automobiles to the air quality, willingness to pay for environmental protection, ecocentric attitudes, postmaterialist...
Rationalization of production to improve roughness of a selected surface of rectilinear hydraulic motors
Urban, Jan ; Píška, Miroslav (referee) ; Sliwková, Petra (advisor)
In this paper, the influence of cutting parameters, machining strategies and material properties on the resulting surface roughness of a selected surface of a groove for a seal on the cover of a straight-line hydraulic motor are investigated. Based on the analysis of the results of the initial experiments of the existing production, specific measures are proposed to rationalize the manufacturing process. The effectiveness of the proposed measures is verified by further experiments carried out on real workpieces under industrial production conditions under the same manufacturing conditions. Subsequently, the results of the methods are compared with each other. The inclusion of a time delay between radial and axial feed during the finishing operation of the grooving had a very positive effect on the surface quality. The surface roughness values not only came within the prescribed tolerance but well below it. The economic evaluation shows that the rationalised production process does not have a noticeable effect on the overall cost of production and hence the results of this thesis are recommended for implementation in practice.
Design and optimization of technological procedures for writing apodized Bragg fiber gratings
Folk, Jan ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Urban, František (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the problem of Fiber Bragg Gratings. It describes the technology of production of these gratings and focuses on the individual technological processes such as hydrogenation and stripping the primary optical fiber coating. It also deals with the apodization of Bragg gratings, describing the individual apodization functions. This paper includes the design of a specific tool for fiber transfer from the window stripping device. The issue of maintaining purity while working with an optical fiber without its coating, is also described. The next part of the thesis deals with the optimization of input parameters for writing fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) on the device used in NETWORK GROUP, s.r.o. Optimization of input parameters is very necessary to enable the writing of only apodized fiber gratings on the used assembly. This thesis deals with the evaluation and optimization of the technological procedures for the creation of apodized FBGs. The thesis also addresses the individual parameters of apodized FBGs and focuses on the repeatability of the manufacturing process.
New methods for outer and inner rotary surfaces production.
Urban, Jan ; Zemčík, Oskar (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
This research contains a survey of some methods for outer and inner rotary surfaces production such as turning, grinding, honing, finishing, lapping, drilling, core-drillings and reaming. Comparison of dimensional accuracy and the achievable surface roughness of different methods.

Implementation of laser technology
Urban, Jan ; Mouralová, Kateřina (referee) ; Osička, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to describe the replacement of wire cutting laser cutting for cutting inserts made of hard material. Description of current situation in the company Vydona, tender and choice of laser and the need for post-laser workshop. The next section deals with the cutting of a particular sample. The last part of the technical economic assessment are calculated hourly rates of machines and the time and cost loads of different cutting inserts.
