Vadkerti, Gabriel ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Langhammer, Lukáš (advisor)
This master thesis deals with creating laboratory exercises for students in simulator NS-3, where the IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, unicast and multicast transmission types, quality of services in wireless networks, furthermore protocols TCP and UDP are analyzed. The first section describes the NS-3 network simulator, the Eclipse development environment and the method how to connect them. In the next section protocols IPv4 and IPv6 are presented, the structure of the headers and the technique of fragmentation are described in detail. Based on this a laboratory exercise is created which deals with comparison of protocols IPv4 and IPv6. In the next section the types of transmissions are described, furthermore the multicast transmission type is explained more in detail. In the next practical section the second laboratory exercise is created, which deals with comparison of unicast and multicast transmission types. The subject of the following section is ensuring quality of services in data networks, the EDCA access method is discussed more in detail. In the next section the EDCA access method is implemented in a simulation as a laboratory exercise, in which the impact of the access category of EDCA to different transmission parameters is investigated. The next section deals with protocols TCP and UDP, furthermore with the structure of their headers. In the last section a laboratory exercise is created, in which the properties of the protocols TCP and UDP are compared.

Chadima, Jan ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with design and construction of lighthouse model, which will be used for teachning. It describes types of naval signalizacion, which are established by organization IALE in decree E-110. In thesis is described Arduino platform, metods of 3D printing and used materials For model needs was designed printed circuit board with microcontroller ATmega328P, which control RGB LED. Program, which control model, was writed on Arduino platform. Program has nine modes of sea light comunication. It can change periode, color of LED, brightness and turning on power saving mode. The result of this work is a functional model of lighthouse powerd by battery. Model is based on Green Cape Lighthouse in Australia in scale 1:58.
Implementation of IoT communication technologies in NS-3 simulation tool
Rehberger, Marek ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Juráň, Radovan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals in its theoretical part with LPWA communication technologies in the licensed frequency spectrum, specific technologies LTE Cat-M1 and NB-IoT. The theoretical part summarizes the terms concerning to LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network), licensed and unlicensed technologies, SmartGrids, NB-IoT and LTE Cat-M1. The use of LPWA technologies in the field of SmartGrids is described and the idea of Smart Metering in buildings is used in the work. Subsequently, in the practical part for the LTE Cat-M1 technology, the implementation of communication scenarios for data transmission within SmartGrids is performed using the tools Network Simulator 3 (NS-3) and the LENA module. The results of the simulations are clearly processed in the form of graphs and tables.
Implementation of IoT Communication Protocols Utilizing UniPi Module for Raspberry Pi
Krejčí, Jan ; Štůsek, Martin (referee) ; Mašek, Pavel (advisor)
Presented diploma thesis is focused on the implementation of Wireless M-Bus protocol to embedded device RaspberryPi with expansion board UniPi. The protocol is implemented in Python with Wireless M-Bus devices communicating via IQRF transceiver connected to the UART bus. The theoretical part is focused on an overview of embedded devices for the IoT, the possibility of their expansion. Further, the UniPi expansion board and Wireless M-Bus transceiver are detailed. First part of the thesis focuses on the Wireless M-bus layers, which provides a basic knowledge for understanding the practical part. The theoretical part concludes overview of captured devices including a description of their data units. In the practical part is the implementation of the sample application for receriving data from a Wireless M-Bus sensors. The application is able to read data from devices transmitting encrypted communication.
Signal propagation modeling for LPWA communication technologies
Pekárková, Kateřina ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Možný, Radek (advisor)
At present, the area of LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) wireless communication technologies is developing very dynamically, where the number of connected devices is rapidly increasing and thus the need to ensure implementation. An important part of the design and testing of a possible implementation of such an LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) network is the modeling of signal propagation in a given environment to ensure sufficient signal coverage. This work deals with the study of LPWAN wireless communication technologies operating in both the unlicensed frequency band and the licensed frequency band. In the practical part, the work focuses on the simulation of signal propagation using the simulation tool Wireless InSite, where the communication parameters were set according to WM-BUS (Wireless Meter Bus) technology.
