Modeling of airflow through the human vocal tract during voice production
Kučera, Marek ; Hájek, Petr (referee) ; Švancara, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with computational modeling of air flow through the human vocal tract during voice production. In the theoretical part, the anatomy of the respiratory system, the function of the human vocal folds, the biomechanics of the human voice and the flow theory are briefly described. Subsequently, an overview of approaches to computational modeling of voice production is presented. The practical part describes the creation of 2D models of the trachea and vocal tract with different settings of the vocal folds. A suitable mesh of finite volumes was created. Stationary flow was solved and analyzed in the ANSYS Fluent program. A suitable time step was determined for non-stationary flow and the results were subsequently analyzed. At the end, the non-stationary flow with the prescribed movement of the vocal folds is solved.
Psychobiography: The role of the Oedipus complex in the life of Egon Bondy
Páralová, Marika ; Kučera, Miloš (advisor) ; Líbalová, Ivana (referee)
This theoretical master thesis, based on the method of pychobiography, attempts to map the role of the Oedipus complex in the life of the important Czech poet, prosaic and philosopher Egon Bondy, also known by his civic name Zbyněk Fišer, using mainly the psychoanalytic teachings of Sigmund Freud. In the first part of the thesis, I present a biography of Bondy that I have compiled, covering the period from his childhood to the mid-1990s, using a number of sources. As of the date of submission of the thesis, no single biographical work was available, and information had to be sought in many works by other authors. On the basis of the biography I have compiled, in the second part of the text I analyse the life story of Egon Bondy, in which the Oedipus complex played a significant role, often referring to this biography. Two main paths then emerge in the story, which I further develop with the help of psychoanalysis and its terms. The aim of this thesis is thus to illuminate the possible motives for his actions, his behaviour, his relationship to himself, to others and to the world, on the basis of this analysis, which combines the Oedipus complex and the life events that have befallen Bondy over the years. Among other things, I present here, for example, a level of his personality that oscillated...
Analysis of energy balances for energy communities
Pavlík, Libor ; Kučera, Michal (referee) ; Paar, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the state of energy communities in the EU and the Czech Republic in order to provide a comprehensive view of their functioning and potential. Key aspects of energy communities are discussed, including the legal framework and technological options. The main objective of this thesis was to analyse the possibility of applying community energy to the municipality of Bánov. Based on the analysis, several options for the development of energy communities in the municipality are proposed. The performed calculations and analysis serve as a basis for assessing the potential and effectiveness of the proposed measures.
Advanced Analytical Model of Strength in Quasibrittle Media
Kučera, Michal ; Vořechovský, Miroslav
The purpose of this work is to extend the use of a recently developed analytical model of concrete fracture behavior to general load cases. The model reflects the stress redistribution processes in the fracture process zone by averaging the local material strength. Analytically, the probability that the spatial stress field attains the averaged strength field is obtained, resulting in a full probability density function of random structural strength, which naturally captures all sources of structural size effect. The expanded version of this model can be used in various general load cases.
The process of leaving a new religious movement and its impact on an individual's identity
Drastíková, Jana ; Beláňová, Andrea (advisor) ; Kučera, Miloš (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of deconversion from the new religious movement Hare Krishna. Its aim was to find out what effect this process has on a person's identity. The thesis further explores how former members of the Hare Krishna movement view the deconversion process, what the first thoughts of leaving the movement were and under what circumstances they occurred. It has also been charted where the first steps of those who left the movement led and how their leisure activities and circle of friends changed. The thesis also looked at how former members of the Hare Krishna movement look back on their membership and what continues to make it meaningful to them. What does not make sense to them in retrospect was also taken into account. The research was conducted qualitatively using the method of thematic analysis. A total of four semi-structured interviews and five responses that were collected through an online form were analyzed. Thus, not only respondents from the Czech Republic but also from abroad were involved. The results of the analysis indicate that the identity of the respondents is changing. At first glance it is clear that they no longer identify themselves as devotees of the Hare Krishna movement, but their values, leisure activities and circle of friends have also changed. The...
Stochastic discrete modeling of progressive damage of concrete structures
Kučera, Michal ; Sadílek, Václav (referee) ; Vořechovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The work focuses on the use of deterministic discrete modeling with representation of spatial randomness in material parameters to simulate a series of experimental tests of concrete specimens in the shape of a dog bone, loaded in excentric uniaxial tension. The main focus is on the influence of the size of the structure on its mechanical properties, especially nominal strength (Size effect). The specimens are modeled as a plane stress problem using available discrete computational methods.
Proposal of measures in the low voltage network for the implementation of renewable sources and electromobility according to scenarios NAP SG
Vojtěch, Jan ; Kučera, Michal (referee) ; Ptáček, Michal (advisor)
The thesis analyzes legislative and strategic documents of the European Union and the Czech Republic which set targets in environment and energy area in 2030, alternatively in 2040. The individual chapter is dedicated to national action plans, where the most important is National Action Plan for Smart Grids setting specific requirements for future development of smart grids. The thesis contains analysis of distribution network in the municipality of Následovice and simplifying assumptions for the implementation of calculation. There are also introduced scenarios which have been used for the calculation of the distribution network with its results. Potential defects of the distribution network are commented with suggested solutions. The calculations were repeated to verify the solutions. Results are recapitulated in an individual chapter. Graphical outputs of the calculations can be found in the attachement.
Four-stroke single cylinder engine of racing motorcycle for MX1 class
Kučera, Michal ; Svída, David (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of single-cylinder four-stroke racing motorcycle with a displacement of 450 cm3. The introduction describes the MX1 class motorcycle engines design and basic parameters of the designed engine. This is followed by comparing construction of crank mechanism parts meeting strength calculations with components of contemporary racing engines. The next section describes the design of the timing mechanism, balance shaft, cylinder head, engine cylinder, gearbox shaft location and crankcase lubrication and cooling system.
Educational Game of Motivation on the Android Platform
Kučera, Martin ; Očenášek, Pavel (referee) ; Kreslíková, Jitka (advisor)
The aim of the dissertation is to create a prototype of an educational game which should help students with the choice of future their studies. To this end, the game introduces the topic of logic systems in a non-threating interactive way with clear illustrative examples. The theoretical part of the work deals with the background knowledge necessary in order to design the game. It explains logic systems, gates, flip-flop circuits, and explores various aspects of game genres with primary focus on puzzle games and their history. In addition, the dissertation presents some of the issues related to cross-platform development of games for both mobile and computer platforms, and provides brief descriptions of several popular cross-platform libraries. Lastly, the work introduces and compares several chosen applications created as a supplementary material for teaching logic system.
