Cílem této práce je poukázat na problematiku katastrofických událostí a jejich rostoucí četnost. Pozornost je zaměřena především na přírodní katastrofy na území ČR a na majetková pojištění občanů tří vybraných pojišťoven s cílem posoudit, zda jsou dané produkty postačující při krytí škody způsobené živelními riziky. The aim of this work is refering to problems of existing disasters and their increasing percent occurence. It is about the natural disasters in the Czech republic and it is aimed at the insurance of property for individual citizens. The insurance products of three significant insurance companies are analysed if they are able to protect the property against natural hazards.
