V letech 2015 2016 bylo v oblasti Lužických hor zkoumáno 10 pramenných vývěrů. V každém z vývěru byla odebírána fauna jak bentická, tak i podzemní, a to hned ve třech sériích. Dále pak bylo sledováno prostředí každého pramene, na které je vázán výskyt fauny. Byly zjišťovány chemicko fyzikální ukazatelé. V 9 ze sledovaných byla kontinuálně měřena teplota a měřeny jednotlivé chemicko fyzikální ukazatelé. Bylo zjištěno, že prostředí pramenů od roku 2013 se výrazně nezměnilo, je tedy stabilní. Voda, která zde vyvěrá napovrch, je čistá a téměř splňuje z hlediska chemických ukazatelůnormy pitné vody.Zdroj pro všechny zkoumaná prameniště je stejný. Podzemní zdroj těchto pramenů pochází z období coniaku a je velmi mělký. Složení bentické fauny se od roku 2013 výrazně nezměnilo, změnila se pouze početnost jedinců. Opět se podařilo potvrdit výskyt ploštěnky horské (Crenobia alpina). Pomocí lapacích sítěk se podařilo odebrat faunu vyskytující se v podzemních vodách. Ta byla determinována a následně bylo určeno, zda se v podzemní vodě vyskytuje náhodně, či je to prostředí, na které je vázána. Bylo zjištěno, že rody Niphargus, Niphargelus(Amphipoda), Diacyclops(Cyclopoida)a Cernosvitoviella(Oligochaeta)jsoustriktně vázány na podzemní vody. Některá fauna se ale determinovat nepodařila.
