Tato práce pojednává o vývoji Somálska po rozpadu diktatury na počátku 90. let, analyzuje pokusy o obnovení somálského národního státu a příčiny jejich neúspěchu. Rovněž má za cíl zaměřit se na jednotlivé aktéry konfliktu a jejich působení v rozpadlém Somálsku bez efektivní centrální vlády. Teoretická část práce je věnována současným přístupům k fenoménu tzv. failed state, kterému se v post-bipolárním světovém uspořádání dostává značné pozornosti, a to zejména díky nutnosti řešit problémy spojené s existencí rozpadlých a rozpadajících se států. Somálsko se stalo jedním z nich. This paper deals with the development of Somalia since the decay of the dictatorship in the early 1990s and further analyses the attempts to reestablish the somali national state and why any of them did not succeed. Focus on the various sides of the contlict, which is among the goals, sheds light on their performance in the somali failed state, lacking any effective central government. The theoretical part of the paper is dedicated to the phenomenon of failed state, which is being discussed a lot in the post-bipolar period, pursuing the need to solve problems related to failed and failing states. Somalia has become one of them.
