Zoo here and there: Observation of Visitor Behavior in the Prague and Reykjavík Zoos

In my diploma thesis I deal with the perception of the modern zoological gardens by observing visitor behavior. The thesis captures the emergence of zoos in Europe in the late 18th and 19th century gardens and their role as a source of knowledge and as a representation of the relationship between man and animal. Based on the observations of visitors I present two European zoological gardens - Prague Zoo and Reykjavík Zoo & Family Park - as spaces reflecting a certain culture. Reykjavík as a place with a simple mission dedicated for the education of small children in several fields, not only in zoology, and Prague as a complex universe, a merge of several different places with different meanings, such as a place for education, relaxation, photographing, standing against the contemporary western critical theories of zoological gardens. Environmental Friendly Accommodation in a Particular Area

Theme of thesis is environmentally friendly accommodation in Trebon and surroundings. The main objective is to identify friendly approaches in the accommodation offers in the friendly area and assess the significance of friendly approaches in the strategy of companies, which offer accommodation. From the survey, in which respondents' interest was investigated in environmentally friendly accommodation, was created demand analysis and based on Internet resources and unstructured interviews analysis of the supply of accommodation. From the observed results were determined proposals and measures for improvement.

Theme of master's project is environmentally friendly accommodation in Prachatice and surroundings. The main objective is to identify friendly approaches in the accommodation offers in the friendly area and assess the significance friendly approaches in the strategy of companies, which offer accommodation. Using the sub-objective is considered the structure of preconditions for development of friendly approaches in the accommodation offers, the uniformity of deploy and preferences of visitors to the friendly approaches in accommodation offer. To meet the objectives was created offer analysis, compiled from online sources and books and analysis of demand through questionnaire survey, which investigated interest of respondents in environmentally friendly accommodation. Data obtained by analysis of offer and demand has led to the creation of proposals for optimizing the development of environmentally friendly accommodation in the area.

The primary aim of the thesis "Rural Tourism in South Bohemian Region" was the evaluation of the rural tourism offer in South Bohemian Region and the submission of appropriate suggestions. The secondary aim was to describe South Bohemian Region, to analyse actual documents relating to the tourism in the region and to create and evaluate SWOT analysis of tourism in the region.

Marketingové zhodnocení lyžařského areálu

My thesis is focused on the marketing evaluation of the visitors of Dolni Morava Relax & Sport Resort during the winter season. The main content of the thesis is the description of the current state and consequent evaluation of satisfaction with offered service. Identification of the client is also important. The thesis includes theoretical part which defines basic terms related to marketing, services and tourism and of practical part which consists of the characteristics of the resort, description of the service and results of a survey. The conclusion is dedicated to suggestions and recommendations.

Sport Centre

Goal of master thesis was design of sports center in microregion Ivancice. Absence of similar establishment in locality was taken into account during project. Complex includes squash courts, sauna, 2 swimming pools and snack-bar. Whole complex is designed as 3 connected single storey buildings from prefa concrete structures with vegetation roofs. Light steel panels are used on outer walls.

Concert-Hall Brno

This study addresses the design of a new cultural center in the Moravian Square – a polyfunctional object with a great concert hall, a small multifunctional hall with operating and technical facilities, parking, customer services for visitors, and areas for employees and musicians. Also, a restaurant & cafe is a part of this proposed project. New space replaces the unsatisfactory conditions of the current residence of Brno Filharmony in Besední dům – too small, unsatisfactory acoustics, and complicated operation. The cultural center, also, serves as a congress center that is currently missing in Brno - a city of trade fairs and exhibitions. The proposition respects the existing character of the park. The capacity of the new proposed design is from three-quarters underground, and therefore makes a way (nebo „space“) for greenery and pedestrians. The designed object consists of one ground and two underground levels. It has a simple shape with a greenery roof, and is incorporated into the existing spaces of the square. The distinctive element of the design is an open outside atrium in the first underground level. The facase is covered with boards (nebo „panels“) made out of Corian® material in a white shade of Glacier White in contrast to glass windows. The supporting construction is designed from monolithic iron concrete.
