Andris, Peter ; Iva,, Vondrová (referee) ; Sedlák, Petr (advisor)
The main topic of the master thesis is the proposal of a methodology for monitoring activities in organizations at audit company clients. This methodology will comply with regulatory requirements that impact the audit firm. The content of the thesis consists of three parts. In the first part of the thesis there is a theory explaining all the essential parts from the basic . The second part is an analysis where the impact of different institutions on the audit company, controls using IT audit and how they use logs and monitoring are discussed. The final part of the thesis offers a proposal of the methodology and a demonstration of its partial implementation on selected systems. The economic evaluation is also discussed within this section.
Log analysis of active network elements
Kajánková, Petra ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Slavíček, Karel (advisor)
The master thesis focuses on the issue of searching for malicious activity originating from authorized users who have permission to modify devices. The theoretical part first introduces the basic network model ISO/OSI, together with TCP/IP. It then focuses on the two most well-known logging protocols, the Syslog protocol and SNMP. The practical part of the work consists of the theoretical design and subsequent implementation of the program that is able to evaluate records of events occuring on individual network devices.
Support for Dynamic Config Reload Inside Rsyslog
Lakatos, Attila ; Češka, Milan (referee) ; Rogalewicz, Adam (advisor)
Logy sú jedným z najcennejších aktív, pokiaľ ide o správu IT systému a monitoring. Medzi najkritickejšie patria strata správ vstupujúcich do systému a narušenie TCP/UDP spojenia, aj keď neboli vykonané žiadne zmeny v pravidlách.
Plugin for Drawing Recording and Reconstruction in Graphics Editor
Hiner, Martin ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Chlubna, Tomáš (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to explore the possibilities of observing brush strokes inside a graphics editor, recording them, and finally, allowing the user to edit each individual stroke or play them out in a sequence. These features are then implemented in a form of a plugin module for a selected suitable graphics editor.
Diagnostics of GNU/Linux-Based Systems
Hofbauer, Martin ; Doležal, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the creation of the light-weighted program, which collects and saves information from GNU/Linux-based systems. Designed and developed solution can also inform about errors in the operating system and its unusual behavior. The program aims at maximum reliability, isolation of individual parts, and ease of use. The theoretical part describes problems of already existing solutions and focuses on the system monitoring context. The practical part then describes program architecture and its implementation. The program was successfully deployed in the company BringAuto, which collaborated with the creation of this thesis. It turned out that the program is able to record information from the operating system without its big load. In case of partial system failure, the program helped with finding its causes.
Log Analysis and Hardware Utilization
Kuchyňka, Jiří ; Homoliak, Ivan (referee) ; Očenášek, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement a system for long-term monitoring of the state of Linux systems located in a production environment. The thesis focuses mainly on situation in which the system does not have the ability to send the collected data for analysis over the network, so data collection must be completely automatic and data must be transferred from monitored systems to a central system for collection, analysis and visualization. A substantial part of the work is devoted to the design and implementation of a web application used to export data from monitored systems to the transmission medium and import them from it to the system for data collection. The resulting solution aims to simplify the collection of data from systems, previously performed directly by system administrators, so that it can be performed by anyone who can physically approach the monitored system and thus reduce the costs associated with monitoring these remote systems.
Response of Soil Respiration, Temperature and Moisture to the Harvest of a Sessile Oak Forest\n
Dařenová, Eva
Forest management, particularly thinning and harvesting measures, has a significant impact on the forest carbon balance. In this study, we investigated the effect of the harvest of a sessile oak forest on soil respiration as a main source of CO2 emissions in forest ecosystems. Soil respiration, temperature and moisture were measured during the two growing seasons, one before and one after the harvest applied on six out of nine studied plots in April 2018. The harvest increased soil temperature by up to 6 °C. Soil moisture did not differ between the plots in 2017, but it was higher in the harvested plots compared to the control in 2018. In the first half of the growing season 2018, the difference between the control and harvested plots ranged between 5 and 100 % in proportion while in the second half the differences decreased only up to 5%. Soil respiration ranged between 1.2 and 3.3 µmol CO2 m-2s-1 during 2017 with no difference between the following variants. In 2018, soil respiration ranged between 1.2 and 7.0 µmol CO2 m-2s-1 and it tended to be higher in the harvested plots compared to the control. The exception was observed shortly after heavy rainfall on 5th September when soil respiration in the control significantly exceeded that in the harvested plots.
