Kalinová, Barbora ; SULŽENKO, Jiří (advisor) ; PROKOP, Petr (referee)
The diploma thesis Performing arts agencies and their activities investigates a potential of booking agencies and touring theatre projects. It perceives them as the instrument of prolonging economic life and enhancing self - sufficiency of projects made by independent theatre companies and individual artists. Examples of foreign booking agencies aim to show what kind of services these agencies provide and in what manner they facilitate artists in the development of their careers. Second part of the thesis surveys specific situation in Czech Republic. It determines main obstacles which refrain touring projects of independent theatre companies and individual artists from being efficient. The results of this thesis are a design of subject that could substitute booking agency in Czech settings and also a proposal of whole system changes that would allow efficient touring projects of Czech independent theatre companies and individual artists.

Kašparová, Petra ; LEDVINOVÁ, Jana (advisor) ; NEKOLNÝ, Bohumil (referee)
The aim of this work is to analyse different sources of theatre fundraising in the USA and focus our attention on some practical tools that four selected theatres use and which help them to secure a future without major contribution from the state. This bachelor thesis should serve as an informational material discussing American theatre system with emphasis on fundraising methods and their application. This thesis pays attention to the practical part, which describes few specific models how to fundraise. Those four very different theatres show us many ways how to target a campaign and work as a fundraiser. In conclusion, I suggest few theories and examples how czech theatres might develop fundraising in the future.
Jiráskův Hronov - background of festival
Cajtlerová, Zuzana ; PROKOP, Petr (advisor) ; TICHÝ, Zdeněk (referee)
My bachelor thesis will be focused on the festival of amateur theater Jiráskův Hronov, which is the longest lasting festival of amateur theater - in Czech republic but also in the world. Jiráskův Hronov is completely unique and an original phenomenon of Czech amateur theater for several generations. I'd looked at this festival of organizational aspects in its current form and in the context of a wide spectrum of nationwide festivals that precede it. The work will cover production side of things - both during the festival and in its preparatory stages. Another significant aspect of the work will be mapping out its financial situation during the previous years, and particularly at a time when the financial issue very actual - this year, for example, led to a shortening of the festival itself. In addition to financial changes occurred due to the departure of the long-running festival director Milan Strotzer - and the arrival of the new director Simona Bezoušková - or even significant program changes and even changes in the actual course of the festival. Apart from the main aim of my thesis - to provide a global picture of the organizational background of the famous Czech Festival - my work also raises the question of the specificity of amateur production shows in the context of a specific functioning of amateur theater in general. My hypothesis would be the question whether the ensuring of such a festival has some specifics - due to professional theater and its shows.

Director of the National Theatre
Urbánková, Monika ; ČUŘÍKOVÁ, Tamara (advisor) ; SRSTKA, Jiří (referee)
Diploma thesis "Director of the National Theatre - statute development" was primarily created as a historically-explorational work, which helps to look into this inherent chapter of the Czech republic history from a different point of view that is usual. The very core part comprises of the National Theatre statutes, which are described through similar pattern and thus bring natural comparison of this institution evolution. The Diploma thesis begins in the year 1929, when the nationalism of the National Theatre took place, and culminates with the first democratic statute in the year 1993, or more precisely with its novella in 1994. The work is enriched by look into the history of our country, as every chapter starts with a short summary of given time period for easier reader's orientation. Part not to be also missed is formed by legal aspects concerning the National Theatre in selected time period. I believe, that the work "Director of the National Theatre - statute development" will be useful to all future readers, who would like to understand the basic functioning of this organisation and the role of its director over the period of more than sixty years.
