The use of internal composite reinforcement in the design of durable concrete structures
Koriťáková, Martina ; Januš, Ondřej (referee) ; Girgle, František (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with processing of determining the shear strength of concrete structures reinforced with composite reinforcement, subjected to shear force, according to five different design approaches. The theoretical part of the thesis is closely related to the project FW01010520 - "Development of bent composite reinforcement for environmentally exposed concrete constructions", which is realized at the Institut of Concrete and Masonry Structures, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. The project deals with the shear strength of concrete beams reinforced with steel and composite reinforcement in various combinations. Then the load-bearing results gained within the project are compared with the values obtained by calculations according to the solved design approaches and computer software Atena Science. The second part of the diploma thesis deals with the static design and assessment of the cell structure. The cell is designed as a room inside of the medical building, where is placed device of magnetic resonance which is the reason why the cell is reinforced with non-magnetic composite reinforcement.
Analysis and design of a multi-storey reinforced concrete load-bearing structure
Fojtek, František ; Laníková, Ivana (referee) ; Šimůnek, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the behavior of a multi-storey reinforced concrete load-bearing structure. The building is designed as a monolithic skeleton. The main load-bearing structure of the building consists of transverse frames, which are connected by beams, on which a continuous ceiling slab is placed. The rigidity of the building is ensured by a reinforced concrete core. The building is based on the base plate. The design analysis was performed by the finite element method in the SCIA 21.1 program. The structure is designed and assessed according to ČSN EN 1992-1-1.
Fashion Law
Kohoutová, Tereza ; Žikovská, Petra (advisor) ; Křesťanová, Veronika (referee)
Fashion law Abstract The main task of this thesis is to acquaint the reader with a relatively new cross-sectional field of law, which is the law of the fashion industry or fashion law. Although it is already established in the Anglo-American legal culture, in our country is still looking for its path. In addition to focusing directly on this field of law, the thesis also deals with certain aspects of intellectual property law that are associated with fashion law, and in the end, the various influences of fashion industry are briefly mentioned. The first chapter focuses on the definition of the concept of fashion law, how this field of law developed and what is its position in the United States, where it is taught at universities and was given some importance. The situation in the Czech Republic is also evaluated, where its development is mainly taken care of by the Institute of Fashion Industry Law. In order to provide a sufficient framework for other topics, the second chapter is devoted to the conceptual and legal specification of design and its protection. We will also get acquainted with its types with focus on fashion design. The third chapter is already fully focused on the first type of design protection, namely copyright. For the sake of completeness, this chapter discusses both the historical...
Preparation of Influenza Neuraminidase and Polymerase Inhibitors
Zima, Václav
Influenza is an infectious disease caused by the influenza virus. This virus causes a severe viral infection that spreads easily from person to person in yearly pandemics. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent the infection, however, due to the high rate in mutations of the virus, the vaccine needs to be often reformulated. Another option to combat influenza is based on administration of antiviral drugs. Clinical studies of isolated influenza strains ("avian flu" H5N1, 2004; "swine flu" H1N1, 2009) revealed resistance towards known influenza neuraminidase inhibitors (zanamivir, oseltamivir). The resistance is caused by structural changes close to the enzymatic site. This calls for the development of new neuraminidase inhibitors as well for development of inhibitors targeting different influenza enzymes. This Thesis is focused on design and synthesis of new inhibitors of influenza neuraminidase and RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, namely PA subunit and the assembly of PA-PB1 heterodimer enzymes (Scheme 1). Influenza neuraminidase inhibitors were prepared by C-5 derivatization of oseltamivir followed by subsequent extension of its structure with binders of 150-cavity. Binding potencies of new oseltamivir derivatives against two influenza strains were determined. The next part contributed to...
Design of a hydraulic pressure system of a powered exoskeleton
Tomeček, Michal ; Tůma, Zdeněk (referee) ; Knoflíček, Radek (advisor)
The main goal of this diploma thesis is to design a hydraulic system for robotic exoskeleton actuation. In the first part of the thesis a list of available sources of exoskeleton designs, is presented, followed by a thorough systematic analysis of hydraulic system elements and their use for this application, is made. The second part of the thesis consists of the hydraulic system design, as well the mechanical design for the hydraulic system which is subsequently tested structurally in the Autodesk Inventor software. The last part of the thesis consists of risk analysis and critical evaluation of thesis‘ results.
Tremolo effect with high modulation frequency range
Pazdera, Michal ; Dvořák, Jan (referee) ; Kubánek, David (advisor)
This work was created while designing the dynamic modulation effect „tremolo“. Because there are certain conditions (wide modulation frequency range, precise input of parameters and precise indication), this work is going to be constructed mainly of searching the right components and schematics, especially wide range frequency oscillator with a period from seconds to the frequency of hundreds of hertz, possible digital frequency counter, which serves as a precise indicator, but we will also talk attenuators, amplifiers, driving circtuits or a power circuit. Possible equations, schematics/circuits and their improvements can be found here through simulators Falstad (ideal circuits) and LTspice (real ciruits), also graphs, sheets, calculations. In the end there is also a short description of the two famous tremolo effects from BOSS and Schaller manufacturers. The design was constructed on breadboard, measured into the protocol and experimentally tested using soundcard. Based on those measurements, a model laboratory task for students has been made.
Postmodern interior design in 1970s and 1980s: Differences and Parallels between Czechoslovakia and Italy
Komarova, Sofya ; Pech, Milan (advisor) ; Bendová, Eva (referee)
Postmodern interior design between the 1970s - 1980s: Differences and parallels between Czechoslovakia and Italy. This bachelor thesis deals with postmodern design furniture and interiors of the 1970s - 1990s in Italy and the Czechoslovak Republic. It explores how Italian craft has changed the world of furniture design, especially how it was reflected in Czechoslovak furniture design in the 1970s to 1980s on examples of exhibitions from both countries. Key words Design, postmodernism, furniture, interior, '70s - '80s of the 20th century, Italy, Czechoslovak republic, exhibition.
Omni-Directional Antenna For 60 Ghz Band Chan-Nel Measurment
Levocký, Kristián
This paper describes a design of an omni-directional antenna for a 60 GHz band. A monoconeantenna is integrated with a mm-wave coaxial connector. Such a structure is small in sizeand provides an omnidirectional radiation pattern with a wide vertical angle. The paper pre-sents acomparison of simulated and measured results of a fabricated prototype. The antenna is in-tendedto be used for mm-wave channel measurement.
Design Of A High-Speed Generator For A Helium Expansion Turbine
Pribulla, Daniel
This paper presents design of an ultra-high-speed generator, propelled by a helium expansionturbine. The power output of the presented generator is 5 kW at 160 000 rpm. Very highefficiency, over 95%, was achieved thanks to the use of permanent magnet synchronous machine typeand proper material selection. Special care was taken during design of the machine rotor to meet bothmechanical and electromagnetic requirements. Only high-strength materials can withstand the load.Stator sheets have to be very thin, to suppress the skin effect and eddy current losses, especially withthe 4 pole configuration. It was shown that the design process for standard, low-speed machines canbe used with the awareness of it’s limitations. Weak points of the design, which should be furtherinvestigated, were pointed out.
