Introduction to Six Sigma Method and its Application for Process Improvements
Joska, Jakub ; Žák, Libor (referee) ; Bednář, Josef (advisor)
First part of the thesis deals with the description of Six sigma method and its most commonly used methodology DMAIC. The second part is a brief introduction of specific practical problem - electroforming. The third part describes the statistical tools used to solve the given task, especially the Pearson's chi-squared test of independence. The last part of the thesis contains a summary of data, calculation itself and data analysis results.
Statistical Models of Success of Various Techniques of Rugby Kicking
Vrbacká, Kateřina ; Votavová, Helena (referee) ; Bednář, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is dealing with the testing of statistical hypothesis and their practical use. We model the success of rugby kicking and analyze the dominant factors (ball position, kicking technique, player) and their interactions. We will use some mathematical terms such as chi-square test of independence and logistic regression. The final model will be processed by software MINITAB. The outcome from this thesis will be the exact description of this situation.
Scanning a analysing of heart electrical activity and blood pressure before and after the load
Vích, Daniel ; Kolářová, Jana (referee) ; Kratochvíla, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of bachelor’s thesis is familiarization with anatomy and physiology of heart, with setting to electrical activity, scanning EKG before and after the load with Biopac system, scanning of blood pressure before and after the load with auscultation, statistical analysis of acquired data and presentation of measured data in graphical interface Guide of Matlab system. According to the protocol of measurement, scanning of heart electrical activity with the Biopac system, and scanning of blood pressure, with auscultation, was realized before and after the load. Measured data was statistically analyzed with t-test to verify hypothesis, that there is an influence of the load on the watched parameters, and to show the process of statistical verification. Application of this method assumes normal distribution of data, that’s why data was at first tested by Chi-squared and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to verify their normal distribution. In the next step data was imported into Matlab system. The presentation of measured data is realized in graphic interface Guide. The program contains time domain and spectral analysis, automatic detection of heart rate and analysis of heart rate variability.
Testing independence in two-by-two tables
Obukhov, Andrey ; Omelka, Marek (advisor) ; Kulich, Michal (referee)
The main purpose of this work is to describe three well-known statistical tests of independence in two-by-two contingency tables. We will deeply study chi- squared test of independence, Fisher's exact test and Barnard's test and apply them on examples. Also we will describe, in general, categorical variables, which are often analysed using a multinomial distribution. At the end we will apply tests on the examples, using data simulated from a multinomial and binomial distribution. 1

Pedagogical communication of a youth football coach
ŠVEC, Martin
The main research objective of this thesis is to determine if, or how, the verbal communication of a youth football coach differs from the coaches at the club level of the regional competitions and republic competitions. The theoretical section of the thesis deals with coaching and communication. The first chapter describes the work of a football coach as an educator. The second chapter, focused on communication, further describes concepts such as verbal, pedagogical and effective communication. The empirical section presents the results of a quantitative survey. It has been shown that coaches' communica- tion with players varies significantly, for example, in the content of commands, remorse, vulgarism, or in frequency of shouting towards a player after his mistake. The frequency of occurrence of the above-mentioned communication features is higher for coaches at regional club level.
The specifics of speech from mothers with young children
AŠKOVÁ, Tereza
This diploma thesis follows my bachelor thesis in which the mother slang was described. This diploma thesis is aimed at the performance of the mother speech research, i.e. the use of specific expressions and language resources used by mothers of small children in Internet discussions in relevant forums or web pages. The diploma thesis aims at creating a questionnaire and establishing five hypotheses. The first part of the thesis describes the methodology of this research, in the following part there are presented the data obtained by the questionnaire survey. The hypotheses are verified in the following section, and the hypothesis testing procedure is described here. The appendix includes the questionnaire and a table of critical values that specifies the data that are needed for verifying hypotheses.
Software STATISTICA and its Applications in Analysis of Categorical Data
HORKÁ, Petra
This thesis involves primarily advantages and disadvantages of using the software to other similar softwares, focusing on analysis categorical data and representation of selected statistical methods. The main purpose of this thesis is demonstration of options the software offers and the main focus is put on possibility of processing categorical data. Typical examples are shown whether the software can be used in practice as well as in accounting, economics and tax issues. All those information come from questionnaire and of selected companies.
