A Calibrated Real-World Colour Picker for Augmented Reality Applications
Zikmund, Martin ; Wilkie, Alexander (advisor) ; Šikudová, Elena (referee)
This thesis describes the process of creating an augmented reality mobile application which allows designers, architects and researchers to retrieve accurate colour information picked from the real-world environment. Specifically, the goal is not only to obtain colour coordinates for the area of interest but to find a set of matching colour samples in an extensive database of colour atlases provided with the application. To properly understand how the camera sensor perceives colour under current lighting conditions, it must be calibrated beforehand using a physical colour chart. Based on this calibration, we can estimate the picked colour coordinates in a standardised colour space. The mobility aspect is the main advantage of the resulting application. Instead of carrying multiple colour atlases, the user can estimate colour matching just using a mobile device and a portable colour chart.
Land reform during the first Czechoslovak Republic
Zikmund, Martin ; Adamová, Karolina (advisor) ; Skřejpková, Petra (referee)
This thesis represents my attempt to summarise everything important about land reform taking place during the First Czechoslovak Republic. Land reform was a giant project lasting almost twenty years, whose consequences we can still feel today, be it either results of the reform or restitutional trials that are held to this day. Its enduring importance along with my interest in the era of First Czechoslovak Republic are among the main reasons why I have chosen this topic. Throughout writing, I've put emphasis on legal aspects of the reform where possible. The thesis is composed of nine chapters. Chapter one analyses the economic situation of land owners before the beginning of the land reform. The land owners are divided into categories by amount of owned land and these categories are compared from various points of view. Chapter Two is the most extensive one and it is entirely adressed to legislation of the land reform. The chapter is subdivided into three parts. Part One is also divided into several subdivisions, each of them explaining demands of each individual political party or movement. Part Two describes the story behind introducing the legal acts. Finally, Part Three thoroughly analyses the most important legal acts of the land reform. Chapter Three documents temporary actions that were...
A Colour Matching Application for Mobile Devices
Zikmund, Martin ; Wilkie, Alexander (advisor) ; Beneš, Jan (referee)
A mobile application that provides matching functionality between different industrially used colour atlases is presented. The focus of the application is not accurate display of the colours in the atlases, although this is attempted to within the limits of mobile device display technology. Rather, for a given entry into one particular colour atlas, an easy and intuitive way of choosing the closest possible colour from some other colour system is provided. This sort of functionality, which is not available elsewhere, is based on spectral measurements of several thousand colour atlas samples that are available to the app developer. This unique dataset makes such an application possible, which has the potential to be a highly useful niche tool for designers who work with such industrial colour atlas systems. Innovation of FIT Web Pages
Zikmund, Martin ; Křivka, Zbyněk (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the web pages quality theory and with the methods of its checking. Furthermore, it shows procedure contributing to creation of modern web presentation of the Faculty of Information Technologies with respect to current trends in web technologies as well as to the requirements specified by web presentation for public educational institution. The objective is to explore web trends among world universities, draw a comparison between FIT web pages and presentations of selected schools, and along with a deeper analysis, specify the imperfections occurring in the actual FIT web presentation. On the basis of this information propose relevant rectification and design new web presentation prototypes. Various methods of Czech as well as international organizations will be mentioned in the thesis. These methods serve as a useful guideline for designing high-quality accessible web presentation as well as a tool for verification and auditing of the aspects fulfilled by the presentation.
Propojení produktů BPM a BI
Zikmund, Martin ; Kunstová, Renáta (advisor) ; Švík, Martin (referee)
Interconnection between various types of IT systems used in an enterprise is crucial in these days. Most of companies are using many different kinds of applications in their daily running of the enterprise which leads to necessity of sharing data across those applications to enable all employees to make a right decision upon correct information. In my diploma thesis I deal with interconnection of two systems -- Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Intelligence (BI). Both systems belong to group of top IT systems with big influence on ongoing business and right decision making on all levels from operational to strategic. My paper contains theoretical as well as practical part of the solution for interconnection of BI and BPM systems. First part is about presenting and describing basic concepts and technologies which are used in process of integration of BI and BPM. At the beginning there is a short introduction to BPM, BI and SOA. Following part is including analysis of three major ways of interconnection between BI and BPM systems. Last part of the first theoretical section presents two products. IBM FileNet P8 representative of BPM system and IBM Cognos 8 BI as a representative of BI system. Second part deals with the practical example of real integration between BI and BPM systems. In first part of this section is simple description of the scenario -- business case. After that there is a detail depiction of two different kinds of integration of BI and BPM. Analysis of benefits, advantages and further possibilities are at the end of work.
