PharmDr. Petr Zimčík, Ph.D. Title of the doctoral thesis:Synthesis and study of photophysical and photochemical properties of phthalocyanines and azaphthalocyanines Phthalocyanines (Pc) and their aza-analogs azaphthalocyanines (AzaPc) are planar macrocyclic complexes derived from porphyrins with a significant absorption band in the range 620-800 nm. Due to their unique photophysical and photochemical properties, together with the high variability of macrocycle substitution, they are important representatives in the modern concepts of materials, industry, electrotechnics and medicine. They are used as photosensitizers in photodynamic therapy of cancerous and non-malignant diseases, fluorescence quenchers for molecular probe labeling in biology or drug and gene delivery agents in cellular environment. The effect of Pc and AzaPc is influenced by their structure, mainly by the character of peripheral substituents, the central chelated metal and the type of the macrocycle. The Berlin Wall

Thesis called "The Berlin Wall" focuses on the period mapping of the construction, existence and fall of the Berlin Wall. This work contains previous events before the Wall construction began, its consequences for Berlin residents, and also the backgroud of the fall of the Wall and its aftermath. One of the objectives of this work is also processing of the questionnaire survey aimed at individually selected respondents regarding their knowledge and awareness of the given period and the Berlin Wall.

Mediální výchova v České republice a v Německu

The Bachelor thesis titled "Media education in the Czech Republic and Germany" focuses on the teaching of media education and its integration into teaching in both of these countries. The aim of the thesis is to provide information on what media education involves, what institutions are involved in promoting media education in schools and what the possibility of continuing education in this area is for teachers. This work also introduces teaching projects that can teachers use to teach media education if they do not want to be taught in the standard way (using textbooks). The key point for this work will be the comparison of both education systems, which are diametrically different and then their final evaluation. Germany is divided into 16 provines, which have different approaches to media teaching, and for this reason the distinction between the two systems will be shown in selected province (Berlin, Saxony, Bavaria).

SYNTHESIS OF UNSYMMETRICAL DERIVATES OF AZAPHTALOCYANINES VI. Vachova Lenka Aim of the work was to find optimal synthesis of azaphtalocyanines (AzaPcs) with different number of nitrogen-containing peripheral substituents. Zinc complexes (2) of AzaPc of tetrapyrazinoporphyrazine type were prepared by cyclization of precursor 5-(tert-butylsulfanyl)- 6-(diethylamine)pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile (1). Its Rf value corresponded exactly to the symmetrical 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24 oktakis(tert-butylsulfanyl))-1,4,8,11,15,18,22,25- (octaaza)phtalocyaninato zinc(II) complex and they will not be isolatable from statistical mixture in future. Therefore, more polar precursor 5-(tert-butylsulfanyl)-6-(2- hydroxyethylmethylamine)pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile (6) was synthesized for tetramerisation. Side product containing new morpholine ring was also isolated - 4-methyl-3,4-dihydro-2H- pyrazino[2,3-b][1,4]oxazine-6,7-dicarbonitrile (5) during preparation of (6). The cyclization of (6) in anhydrous zinc acetate and anhydrous dimethylformamide was unsuccessful. Serendipitously, we have uncovered that metal-free derivatives similar to my differ in Rf values.
