The Trade Relations between the Hanseatic League, Livonia, Veliky Novgorod and Pskov from the 12th to the early 16th Century
Smrž, Pavel ; Picková, Dana (advisor) ; Švec, Luboš (referee) ; Voloshchuk, Myroslav (referee)
SMRŽ, Pavel, The Trade Relations between the Hanseatic League, Livonia, Veliky Novgorod and Pskov from the 12th to the early 16th Century Abstract The thesis examines the historical dynamics of interactions between the Livonian state and the Hanseatic League on one side and their eastern counterparts, the cities of Novgorod and Pskov, on the other. The study's temporal scope spans from the 12th century to the early 16th century, respectively through the year 1503. During the 12th century, merchants hailing from Scandinavia and northern German regions initiated initial engagements with medieval Russia and the final treaty, dating from the era of Grand Prince of Moscow Ivan III, was ratified in 1503. This ruler, on one hand, definitively put an end to the political autonomy of Veliky Novgorod, and on the other hand, strengthened the ties between Pskov and Moscow, thereby significantly altering the political conditions in which the two cities coexisted with their Livonian neighbours and trade partners for three centuries. The author set several objectives in addressing the chosen topic. One of them was to, through content analysis of extensive source material, particularly diplomatic treaty texts, explain how the practical dynamics of relations between Novgorod, Pskov, and their Livonian partners operated, how...
Metasearch for Reviews on the Czech Web
Šmahel, Michal ; Doležal, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The main purpose of this work is to create a metasearch engine for review articles with built-in sentiment analysis. In addition, a complex survey of main text extraction tools and web browser automation tools for web crawling has been carried out to achieve of the best possible results. The resulting metasearch engine provides a web interface for searching relevant review articles, thus saving time spent on manual searching. Thanks to multi-level transformer-based filtering, it can return 10—15 relevant review articles on frequently reviewed topics in about 4 minutes with no effort, just by clicking on a button.
Generating Code from Textual Description of Functionality
Šamánek, Jan ; Fajčík, Martin (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
S pokračujícím nástupem strojového učení a stále větších modelů neuronových sítí, roste i potřeba GPU akcelerovaných zdrojů a algoritmů pro podporu těchto modelů.
Radar Interface and Its Interconnection to Air Traffic Control System Simulation
Buchníčková, Tereza ; Ondřej, Karel (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis aims to create an application for training new air traffic control officers. The system is implemented as a JavaScript web application using the JQuery and Leaflet libraries. The server part is written in Python using the BlueSky library for air traffic simulation. The thesis presents a theoretical background and discussed the design and implementation of the system. The result is an application that offers to display current air traffic, or where the user, in the role of air traffic control officer, can practice communication with a pilot on simulated air traffic. The application allows the recording of voice communication and, in cooperation with an automatic speech recognition system, converts this communication into text displayed on the screen. In addition to the support of the training of air traffic operators, this application also serves as a demonstration of the results of the research groups KnoT and Speech from the Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology.
Integration and Optimization of KNOTIS Information System Modules
Biely, Matúš ; Smrž, Pavel (referee) ; Dytrych, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with implementing required changes in the Knowledge Technology Research Group information system (KNOTIS) to integrate improved functionality prepared in previous years. Integration was composed of changes in the functionality of the information system, implemented in PHP language, and SQL query optimisation. This thesis also includes taking the necessary steps to upgrade other information systems included. Namely, it is the documentation platform MediaWiki and the flexible project management web application Redmine. All parts were integrated by optimising slow-running SQL queries, repairing errors in PHP code and getting familiar with issues regarding the transition to new versions of PHP and MySQL. MediaWiki and Redmine upgrade was ensured by documenting exact step-by-step procedures to ensure a problem-free transition to newer versions. This thesis results in an information system suitable to be deployed with the newest software versions and enhanced functionality. Finally, deployment on the web server of the FIT BUT Knowledge technology research group was successful.
Relation Extraction from Text
Královič, Kristián ; Ondřej, Karel (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the extraction of semantic relations between named entities in natural text using learning with a small number of supporting examples. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces methods for natural language representation using dense vectors and named entity recognition. Next, deep learning based approaches for semantic relation extraction are described. The theoretical part also includes a description of learning with a small number of training examples in the context of semantic relation extraction In the implementation part, a system for extracting semantic relations from text has been proposed. The system uses pairwise classifiers based on pre-trained language models like transformers to classify the relations. For the purpose of this work, the ELECTRA-PAIR, RoBERTa-PAIR and BERT-PAIR models were trained. In the experimental part of the thesis, these models are evaluated over different datasets. The experimental part also includes experiments aimed at classifying more complex semantic relations.
Using Synthetic Data for Improving Detection of Cyclists and Pedestrians in Autonomous Driving
Kopčilová, Zuzana ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with creating a synthetic dataset for autonomous driving and the possibility of using it to improve the results of vulnerable traffic participants' detection. Existing works in this area either do not disclose the dataset creation process or are unsuitable for 3D object detection. Specific steps to create a synthetic dataset are proposed in this work, and the obtained samples are validated by visualization. In the experiments, the samples are then used to train the object detection model VoxelNet.
Aspect-Oriented Sentiment Analysis from User Reviews of Computer Games
Sabol, František ; Doležal, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis delves into aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) and the creation of a system tailored for examining video game user reviews. By building on established solutions, the system emphasizes the use of generative language models for extracting Aspect-Category-Opinion-Sentiment (ACOS) quadruples. The devised system streamlines the collection and evaluation of reviews, providing an intuitive user interface that enables effortless searching, filtering, and visualization of analytical outcomes via a web application. Furthermore, two datasets predominantly consisting of Czech video game reviews have been assembled.
