3D Photo Slideshow Using OpenGL
Ondrejíček, Marián ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to design a photo slideshow in 3D space using OpenGL and to implement functional application. Also there is description of Qt toolkit, which was used to design graphical user interface of the program. Furthermore there are explained basics of quaternion interpolation, which is the core of animation and camera system. The second part describes practical realization and each part of the project in details. Application was successfully implemented. In the end, the results are discussed, including possibilities of future development.
Merging of Different Exposured Photographs, HDR
Šmida, Vladimír ; Juránek, Roman (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDRI) is an emerging field in image postprocessing with non-trivial relations to many different areas, such as image synthesis, computer vision, video and image processing, digital photography, special effects among others. This bachelor's thesis deals with the usage of HDRI in digital photography. Conventional digital cameras are not able to record the full tonal range of the scene. Therefore, if we want to capture a high dynamic range scene, by setting the exposure time we have to choose only a small range of tones which will be well depicted. The rest of the photograph will loose important detail. The method presented and implemented in the scope of this thesis enables us to create HDR picture with realistic values of tones out of several differently exposured photographs.
Correction of Geometric Distortion in Photographs
Cyprich, Miroslav ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Přibyl, Bronislav (advisor)
The resulting image of photographing is usually geometrically distorted. The most common of such distortions are called pincushion or barrel distortion, which can cause disturbing impression in photographs. There are currently several applications that allow to correct the geometrical distortion, but [proprietary, unergonomic, ...]. This paper describes the current state of knowledge in the field of geometric distortion correction and proposes a new software. An application with graphical user interface, whitch is focused on simplicity and ergonomics. It presents two possibilities of geometric distortion correction in photographs. Functionality and usability of the application has been tested and validated on a sample of real users
Background Reconstruction from Several Photographs
Motáček, Vladimír ; Žák, Pavel (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
This thesis concerns the background reconstruction from several photographs (so called depopulation scene efect). There are presented methods for obtaining the background from video and discussion of their use for photographs. The greatest emphasis is placed on the Gaussian mixture model and effort to improve this algorithm due to static image. The photographs should be taken with a tripod.
Merging of Images and Video Sequences
Krym, David ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with image and video sequence frames stitching when the camera undergoes a pure rotation. It involves design and implementation of application with focus on quality and performance. Modern techniques and algorithms are used, such as SURF, ORB, k-nearest neighbors and bundle adjustment. The application is able to create a panoramic images automatically without any assumptions about the scene or camera.
Physical Simulation of a Cloth
Vavro, Ondrej ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Navrátil, Jan (advisor)
Thesis covers problematics of simulating cloth(textile) behaviour under different conditions. It explains basic principles used in construction of cloth computer model, describes inner and outer forces that act on cloth and shows different integration methods that forward simulation in time from the view of suitability and speed when used on cloth simulation. Work also includes description of implementation of a demo application in which is part of these problematics tested.
Optical Field and Hologram Synthesis
Šulgan, Marián ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
The main focus of this work is to implement appropriate chosen method of optical field synthesis in several forms, compare their results and confirm its validity by reconstruction of hologram generated from calculated optical field. For its complexity and demanding calculations, various accelerations are employed - linear approximation, parallelization, using technology C++ AMP, which facilitates opportunity to use GPU for massive parallelism. The work begins with explanation of basic holography principles followed by design of application offering solutions to set problems. The final part explains the implementation of application programmed in C++, testing process, gained results and their evaluation. The text ends with final conclusions regarding completion of set tasks and possible future expanding or improving.
Graphical Educational System
Farbiak, Peter ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
The goal of the theoretical part of this Bachelor's thesis is to introduce basics of learning psychology, principles of programming and algorithms and creating of graphical user interface to reader. Practical part is about creating program which demonstrates principles of basic algorithmic structures by adding graphical objects.
Algorithm Acceleration on Larrabee Platform
Veselý, Ivo ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
Intel Larrabee is one of the first of fully programmable graphical architectures. Thesis describes this many-core architecture by hardware implementation and programmer's model point of view. Larrabee bets on many complete in-order cores, built over x86 instruction set. Cores contains four hardware threads, each with it's own register file, and new vector processing unit. Vector processing unit together with instruction set extension rapidly increases system performance. New cache modes helps to increase throughput even when irregular data structures. This architecture is not focused only on computer graphics nor image processing, but all parallel tasks. Second part of this text deals with hologram synthesis. Specifically, it brings two new methods for patch of point light sources generation with concrete radiation.
HDR Tone-Mapping
Vančura, Jan ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
This thesis concerns with the introduction to the problematics of images with high dynamic range (HDR) and possibilities of HDR images compression options for display on devices with a low dynamic range (LDR). In the introduction is described historical evolution of recording of reality. It is focusing towards point of view of physics, human visual perception and digital recording. There are described the ways of generating and holding of HDR images. The thesis is corncerned to the techniques of HDR compression, it means the tone-mapping. The different techniques of tone-mapping are explained and specific aproach is targeted to the gradient domain high dynamic range compresion.
