Analysis of Tool Wear with Cermet Cutting Edges During Turning
Kunkela, Ondřej ; Kouřil, Karel (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
This thesis focuses on comparison of cermet cutting materials, which are used to manufacture reamer cutting edges. It contains review of current market reamer tools and suppliers of cermet semi-finished products. Cermet cutting tips were used to machine parts from carbon steel and analysis was made to compare wearing of the tools from different suppliers. This test was conducted on turning machine in working conditions typical for reaming. During this test there were taken notes on the wear of the tools and surface roughness of the part. The output of this is work is data processing, which indicates durability of each tested cermet.

Mikulenka, Martin ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes methods of model manufacturing by Rapid Prototyping. Advantages and disadvantages are situated in the bottom of each method. This thesis includes the planning of preparative for manufacturing armature in technical software. There is short economical estimation at the end of this work.
Efficiency Improvement Proposal of Production of Machined Front Part
Řezníček, Vojtěch ; Šaloušek, David (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The main topic of this Master thesis is proposal of the streamline the production of the machined part of a handguard. The aim of the work is to evaluate the current machining process, to design possible innovation, to select the best way of construction of a design part. The conclusion will be devoted technical and economic evaluation in terms of time, cost and material consumption.
Manufacturing technology of centrifugal compressor for small jet engine
Remer, Radim ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with redesigning of the current technological manufacturing process and subsequent production of a centrifugal impeller of a small tubojet engine. Thesis is divided into three main parts. First part deals with the theoretical background of the turbojet engines and the centrifugal impeller. Next part is focused on the proposed manufacturing technology of the centrifugal impeller using machining. Final part of the thesis deals with evaluation of the achieved goals.
Cemented carbides and theirs effective use
Dembek, Jiří ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Humár, Anton (advisor)
This diploma thesis is aimed on cutting tools made of cemented carbides. It characterizes marking, production and properties of non-coating and coating cemented carbides and describes the latest trends in coating. Target of this diploma thesis is comparison of assortment of two important world’s producers and one Czech producer in term of used productive technologies, products microstructure, coatings types, coatings methods and possibilities of their usage. Cutting data were evaluated and compared from obtained technical knowledge, which were recommended by chosen producers for effective turning application of their cutting tools. Recommended cutting speeds were found out for specific type of cutting material according to ISO, width depth of cut and for specific values of feeds per revolution.
Manufacture of a Model of the Skiing Helmet Cover Using a CAD Application and Modern Additive Technology
Navrátil, Vojtěch ; Zouhar, Jan (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to describe a process of making a ski helmet cover. The thesis virtually describes the whole process of manufacturing a cover, from its 3D computer design, and setting up its production according to an applicable software, to its actual production. The thesis concludes with an economic evaluation and description of the benefits.
Analysis of cutting tests on the performance of axial tools
Fasora, Jan ; Nečesánek, Emil (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
This master thesis deals with a cutting test on performance of an innovative high-speed steel twist drill. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the analysis of individual influences on the drilling process, the emphasis is placed on the influence of tool geometry. The main experimental part of the thesis deals with the influence of twist drill geometry on the cutting performance, specifically influence of the point angle and lip angle on the drilling process. The workpiece material is austenitic stainless steel. The results achieved in a completed experiment are used in a cutting tool development. The achieved results show that a layer of material with higher hardness situated on workpiece can increase a drill holes quality up to twice. To achieve a stable drilling process it is needed to obtain the values of the point angle and lip angle depending on the each other. In general, the recommended application range of these angles while drilling austenitic stainless steel can be 138° to 142° in the case of the point angle and 7° to 10° for lip angle.
Cutting Tests of Insert for Turning Structural Hardened Steel
Šolc, Michal ; Pokorný, Zdeněk (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The thesis deals with the wear of replaceable inserts during the turning of structural hardened steel. The theoretical part describes a brief characteristic of turning technology, force loading on tools and tools used in turning. Moreover, it contains an analysis of the chemical composition of the machined material, its microstructure and microhardness. Machines and equipment used for the experiment and their specifications. The experimental part of the thesis describes the method of measuring and evaluating of tool wear, followed by the cutting tests themselves, documenting of the result and their evaluation. The conclusion of the thesis is the processing of measured data, the evaluation of achieved results and the proposal of further steps to improve the process.
A Proposal for a Methodology of a Knee Joint Replacement Femoral Part 3D Model Creation
Kodys, Martin ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Madaj, Martin (advisor)
The aim of the Diploma Thesis is to propose the methodology of a 3D model creation of a femoral part of a knee joint replacement. As the knee joint is the most loaded joint of the human body, the function, description and biomechanics relation is described in first part of the Thesis. The second part is focused on degenerative damage of knee joints that leads to the implantation of standard knee joint replacements. The third part deals with the construction of standard knee joint replacements and their surgery implantation. The last part of the Thesis describes the creation of an individual knee joint replacement, especially the femoral part.
Evaluation of strength properties of parts made by rapid prototyping methods
Šimek, Jiří ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes Rapid Prototyping methods. It introduces their overview, principles, advantages and disadvantages. This project also deals with aplication and comparison of modifications of samples made by Fused Deposition Modeling. Findings from tests of mechanical features (pulling test and bending test) are used for comparison.
