Social housing policy towards families with difficult access to housing market

This thesis is focused on social housing for families as a specific housing policy instrument for securing housing of families with children who are for various reasons disadvantaged on the free housing market. In the thesis social housing is understood as a way towards fulfilment of the right to adequate housing and at the same time as an instrument for supporting families in their function of securing healthy development of their children in a safe environment. The aim of the thesis is to contribute to the actual debate on the creation of the state policy of social housing. It is done mainly by the mapping of housing and social policy on the state and local level. Local policy of social housing is explored particularly in five city districts of the capital city of Prague. The research draws data from documents of the city districts and interviews with the officials from property departments and social departments, in particular with the heads of child welfare sections. The research shows that the access of families with children to the instruments of local housing policy is always in some way limited. The city districts vary in the level of these limits. Between the hammer and the anvil. The authoritarian apparatus of the Pardubice demesne between 1560 and 1630

and keywords This thesis deals with the topic of authoritarian apparatus of chamber estate of Pardubice between 1560 -1630. It represents not only the structure and form of bureaucratic machinery, duties and competences of its representatives, but also their influence in the context of the estate. Very important role is played not only by relation between the machinery and superior authorities, but also its contact and communication with local administrations and residents of the estate themselves. Interest is also devoted to personalities of some representatives of officials whose life stories are discussed in the individual chapters. The thesis also follows manifestations of chosen trends in early modern history and its reflection to the environment of the estate - especially the process of bureaucratization, professionalization and extent of (in)discipline of bureaucracy. Very important is also the question how much the reality of official practise was equal with provisions and requirements proclaimed in instructions and regulations. (Dis) honest Citizens of Pardubice - the Town and the Townspeople in the Second Half of the 16th Century

and keywords The theme of this thesis is the history of the town Pardubice in the second half of the 16th century, especially in the 1560s and 1570s when the town became the property of the king. This was the end of the period in which the Pernstejn family had owned this land for 70 years and which is deeply studied because it is considered to be "the golden age" of the town and surrounding demesne. However, the purpose of the following pages is to inform about the development of the town and its inhabitants after the sale of the Pardubice demesne to the royal chamber. All the conslusions are made on the basis of read up literature and archival documents, in particular. The thesis mainly refers to the social structure and interaction of particular groups, authorities of the town (eventually the surrounding demesne) and the town justice - both civil just and criminal law. The intention of this thesis is to obtain some new pieces of knowledge of the regional history, and at the same time to prepare the basis for further studies of the history of Pardubice in the early modern period.
